One of the biggest challenges I have heard from you as my readers is the transition from eating packaged foods to only eating real food. A few months ago I sent out a survey to my subscribers and the responses I got all showed very similar concerns. Many of my readers participated in The Real Food Challenge when first launched in January 2013 and were super successful! The community we built during the week in January was so inspiring and really helped everyone stay motivated. To some of you this might sound nearly impossible and some of you may be thinking – I already do.
This challenge is also for all of you who have already figured it out, but you have fallen off the bandwagon.
If you want to get really serious about this challenge and take full advantage of the support you can get from this group – this is for you. All of these done for you planning items and the built in support are designed to make this challenge much less of a challenge to complete. The recipes and meal plan included in this package are all real food recipes including animal protein, vegetables, and small amounts of grain.
In the Spring version of the Real Food Challenge the recipes and meal plan are 100% in line with the Paleo diet. While all fruits can support your weight-loss effort, certain types of fruit might provide the most benefits.
For improved blood sugar balance, energy levels and reduced cravings for sweets, opt for low-glycemic fruits. Because fruits are relatively low in calories yet high in nutrients, you can consume them more liberally than other foods during and after your diet.
While I used different vegetables for this Thai noodle soup you can also use which ever you like best. I didn’t have any tom yum paste so I just did four tbsp of red curry paste and at the end, squirted in sriracha!

One of the most common challenges that was expressed was the ability to provide a healthy real food diet for your family that doesn’t take up too much time or too much money. This 7 day Real Food Challenge is designed to jump start the process in making a lifestyle change because we’ve done the planning for you.
We have an amazing group of people in our community who have made some huge changes in their diet and lifestyle. If you have been thinking about joining us I encourage you to join now, we are still open for new participants!
This challenge is designed to help those of you who really want to live the real food lifestyle but might need a little guidance to get started. Making a big lifestyle change can be difficult on your own but with a huge group of people doing it along with you it is a lot easier – and a lot more fun! It is also specifically designed for Winter season which includes warming foods that are seasonally appropriate.
I strongly recommend having a crock pot for this challenge, many of the recipes in the challenge are made for the crock pot – and it makes the whole plan work very well. Although no longer practicing, she has a background in massage therapy and colon hydrotherapist. In addition, diets rich in fruits are associated with improved weight management and weight loss, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Fruits also provide water and fiber, which will keep you fuller longer, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Choose fresh fruit over dried fruit and fruit juices because fresh fruit provides richer amounts of nutrients and tend to be more satisfying. In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2007, researchers found that a low-glycemic diet produces greater weight loss in obese adults, ages 18 to 35, than a low-fat diet.
While all fruits provide some amounts of fiber, particularly fiber-rich varieties include apples, avocado, bananas, berries, dried apricots, prunes, figs, guava, kiwi, oranges and pears. In order to reap sufficient amounts of nutrients, the Harvard School of Public Health suggests at least two servings of fruit daily, which is the amount found in two average-size apples, oranges, peaches or pears; 8 oz.
Getting the Thai pastes and curries allows me to make all of the different types of Thai dishes.
I used mushrooms, onions and carrots but since this soup is very versatile you can use whatever.
Others who were already in the blogging scene also shared on their blogs like this one Mama Making Changes.
The recipes also include foods that are great for spring cleansing and transitioning out of a Winter diet and into a Spring diet.
For best results, incorporate fruits into a balanced, nutrient-rich diet that includes vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and healthful fats. Fruit provides a nutritious, naturally sweet alternative to high-calorie sweets such as candy, soft drinks and baked goods. While most fruits are mild to moderate on the glycemic index, fruits lowest on the spectrum include cherries, grapefruit, prunes, dried apricots, berries, apples, oranges, peaches, pears and grapes.
For better weight-loss results, add fiber-rich fruits, such as blueberries or sliced banana, to your breakfast cereal and other meals. You may see tom yum paste used right by itself when making Thai soups but for me mixing them both are much better.
It has taken me quite a bit of time to lean this and sometimes I have cooked with it without knowing eating the hard part and chewing what I should have discarded.

It is really convenient to freeze and have for future consumption so whenever I make soups I make it an effort to do this.
Add the veggies, pastes, salt and noodles and cook for 8-10 minutes or until noodles are cooked through. My wish is to inspire you to start cooking healthier so that you can live a longer and happier life.

Seek approval from your doctor before attempting weight loss or making significant dietary changes. Low-glycemic fruits--fruits that have a mild effect on blood sugar levels--might support blood sugar balance and appetite control. It’s a year of hard work and dedication for those few seconds of glory. The press made a huge deal out of the moment you passed out, suggesting you nearly died.
When trying to lose weight, avoid canned fruits packed in sugary syrups since this will increase your calorie intake. For specified guidance, discuss your weight loss goals with a qualified medical or dietary professional.
It’s just like get getting out of bed too quickly…or running a four-minute mile and passing out afterwards. It’s quite normal when you’re pushing the human body to its limits to pass out – it’s the body’s way of protecting itself.”Eddie HallSo now it’s all about becoming the World’s Strongest Man – what does it take to prepare for a massive competition like that?“Well I was back in the gym two days after breaking that record – the regime is relentless!
I started with just sticking pots of things I like to eat here and there amongst other bushes and flowers. I get up early and do some cardio training, swimming or caveman training (throwing tyres, pulling cars, dynamic exercises like that). Then I’ll spend the day eating food and drinking liquids, getting prepped for the gym at 3 or 4 o’clock. I’ll gym for around four hours, be in bed for 10pm, and repeat that day-on-day for five days a week. When it comes to food, it’s about quantity as well as quality. Fair to say it’s a total takeover of your life.”Now at 30 stone, you’re pushing your body to real extremes.
Do you ever worry about the dangers of your sport?Since I was 20 I’ve been putting a stone on with every year. I think I’m getting to my peak now – and that’s going to be my edge in the competition – but I’m under no illusion I can stay this weight for another 20 years.
Everyday things like going for a walk with your family, fitting in your car, or even just putting your socks on or getting though a doorway(!) – I just can’t enjoy properly because of my sheer size.I know I've got a time limit to win the World's Strongest Man and then I’ll retire immediately.
You only live once – that’s why I’m working hard now, so I can enjoy my future.Eddie HallSo if you do win the title next month is it the quiet life for you? When I succeed at something then I just want to move on and succeed at something else, whether it’s Olympic lifting or boxing. I want to try and dominate another sport – but something much healthier than strong man.Eddie HallOn first impressions, Eddie Hall might look all muscles, tattoos and sheer towering bulk. Yet beyond the powerful exterior, there’s clearly a gentle and devoted family man, as committed to his wife and two young kids as he is to his to achieving his dream.Along with Stoke-on-Trent and the rest of the UK, we'll be rooting for you at WSM 2016 Eddie.
