Whenever Audrey Hepburn is referenced, it seems as though the late star's memory is frozen into still shots from her younger days. Wearing that same girlish grin that brought men to their knees and perfectly coiffed hairstyles that women still try to recreate, Hepburn taught us how to exude elegance.
So in celebration of what would have been Audrey Hepburn's 85th birthday, we've selected photographs that prove she aged gracefully. Tbilisi’s history is a long and fascinating one.  Since the 5th century AD, Tbilisi has been at the center of many major historical events and it has been influenced by the peoples of Persia, Arabia, the Turks, the Byzantine Empire, Mongol armies, and the Soviet Union. Tbilisi’s moderately humid subtropical climate is tempered by the surrounding mountain ranges and nearby lakes.
Teaching English in Tbilisi is a great way to be at the center of Georgia’s culture, entertainment, and political scenes, although your daily expenses in a big city will always be higher than what you’ll experience living in a more rural area. Tbilisi’s rich history and its location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia mean that there are plenty of cultural and historical sights to see. If you are interested in delving deeper into Georgia’s cultural heritage, Tbilisi has museums, galleries churches, cathedrals, basilicas, and even a fortress. As it is, by far, the biggest city in Georgia, Tbilisi gives you lots of choices for entertainment. Tbilisi also has restaurants with cuisine from all over the world.  Try the local food, treat yourself to a Western style meal, or try some Japanese cuisine—you won’t get bored with the food in Tbilisi! Interesting Fact: Nobody could be unsupervised and Puritans were pretty much always together. South Carolina, September 9, 1739: A band of slaves march down the road, carrying banners that proclaim "Liberty!". The Bessie Tartt Wilson Initiative for Children (BTWIC) conducts independent and operational research to identify the most prevailing deficiencies in the Massachusetts early education and care system and works with strategic partners to champion and implement solutions that ensure underserved children enter kindergarten ready to learn. There is no doubt that the coming of industrialization in New England dramatically altered the ways families of the time were connected, communicated, and supported one another.
Despite Gray’s somewhat romanticized understanding of life in America before massive-scale industrialization, the fact remains that families and for that matter, standard gender, family, and rules for children and their place within the family structure were far more cohesive as they not only relied on each other for economic and social support, but on their communities as well. Perhaps one of the greatest general statements to be made about the changes that resulted from the Industrial Revolution in New England is that families were no longer, if even by proxy, required to remain tight-knit and solely reliant on another. Even though we admire the sass and style she displayed in films like "Funny Face," "Roman Holiday" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's," we also appreciate Hepburn's beauty as she grew older.

And the Academy Award winning-actress also showed us that we shouldn't be concerned about those worry lines on our forehead, because life's too beautiful to be concerned about wrinkles. Its fortresses, cathedrals, old neighborhoods, and diverse population all bear testament to its long and varied heritage. Since the 2003 Rose Revolution, the city has been rapidly modernizing its transportation, education, and infrastructure. In recent years, the government has allocated considerable funds to improving the quality and service areas of the Tbilisi metro, making this one of the fastest and most convenient ways to get around the city. While many of the bus signs are only in Georgian, the local bus system and subway system in Tbilisit have been going through a lot of upgrades. You could easily spend your afternoons roaming the streets and appreciating the eclectic architecture. There are also a number of near-by historical sites such as a pottery village and one of many unique cave monasteries. Modern clubs and bars are popular with the younger crowd, and the city is also host to a number of bands and music festivals throughout the year.
With the rapid shift away from more localized family-based agrarian or small business enterprises to one that required longer hours, often away from immediate family with work that was not of immediate importance to the family itself, the impact on the early American family cannot be underestimated. With new employment opportunities opening up for women, men and children in New England and America, families were now more free to split apart, move away, or engage in work that their gender or age might not have otherwise allowed. Before this time children worked in fields, women, as their gender roles demanded in this pre- Industrial Revolution society and family structure in New England took care of the home and men worked in the fields. Gleaming skyscrapers, modern architecture, and an increasingly global population combine with tradition to create a vibrant and rapidly changing city. Electronic bus signs, as well as more English route maps, are being incorporated into the system, making it easier to get around by bus. Ranging from old world building complexes and the narrow streets of Old Town, the city’s architecture bears influences from the Middle East, Byzantine, and neoclassical European styles. For a quick day-trip, head to one of the picturesque lakes that lay within a short drive from the city. If you are looking for a quiet night out, check out Tbilisi’s numerous movie theaters showing the latest Hollywood releases and local films or spend the evening watching an opera show or a local dance or music performance, of which there are many to choose from. Life was not very private for them- people then might have become suspicious if you were alone.

Led by an Angolan named Jemmy, the men and women continue to walk south, recruiting more slaves along the way.
Before the onset of the Industrial Revolution in New England and early America, “The household was not only the industrial center but also the social center, for its members derived social satisfaction from working together and from rustic amusements enjoyed at home or on the village green” (Gray 1992: 244). In addition to leading to families now having the opportunity to leave home to seek employment, the coming of the Industrial Revolution to New England sparked many changes involving the role and function of having children came about, as did other paradigm shifts in the way gender roles were perceived and even solidified. For example, you should expect to pay a couple of dollars for a casual meal out and it costs around  $0.30 for a one-way ticket on public transportation.
Tbilisi is surrounded nearby mountains, which are the perfect playground for any hiking or mountain climbing enthusiast; offering endless opportunities for beginners and advanced hikers alike. This laid-back venue offers a large selection of new and used English books, as well as being a hub for connecting with other English-speakers and ESL teachers in Tbilisi. By the time they stop to rest for the night, their numbers will have approached one hundred.
Of course, your cost of living depends a lot on your lifestyle, but with your housing provided and many of your meals cooked for you by your host family, you will find that it is easy to get by in Tbilisi. While you shouldn’t expect to save large sums of money, English teachers in Tbilisi find that they can live comfortably on their stipend. With the shift away from the traditional modes of cottage industry in New England before the Industrial Revoltion or highly localized familial production came a related shift of family values. Instead of being tied to the home because one was needed to assist with farm or family business tasks, young people were now more free to explore their own paths.
Women, instead of being relegated domestic tasks were now granted an opportunity to earn an income, even if it was significantly less than that earned by male counterparts.
Entire communities, comprised of family units and networks, were split and the traditional bonds of inter-family support that arose out of necessity, particularly because of farm-related and family business tasks, was now quite as essential. In sum, the arrival of the Industrial Revolution in New England, despite some of its drawbacks, brought with it opportunity and the potential to move away from traditional family networks.
