Many different modes that offer a lot of gameplay variety, but PvZ doesn't run as well on the DS.
The characters have a lot of personality but are missing a few frames of animation and the game slows down noticeably when the action heats up.
Level after level after level of zombie thwarting leads to mini-games, puzzles, and a survival mode. This week I've made a list of 5 tower defense games as Slide2P Recommendation, Let's take a quick going-through.
Kingdom Rush might be the most famous and classic game of the list, both of the two titles Kingdom Rush and Kingdom Rush Frontiers are devilishly addictive.
Clash of Clans is a mobile freemium strategy game from Supercell, a game company based in Helsinki, Finland. This is not the first time I found a RTS game that very similar to Clash of Clans, but this 'Lord of the Guardians' looks really fun, its character settings and game graphics are well-made. For the Horde is an upcoming 3D MOBA mobile game which has tower defense gameplay in it, it is developed by TipCat Interactive. The latest offering from Supercell, Clash Royale is now available to download if you are in Canada and a few other countries.
Collect and upgrade dozens of cards featuring the Clash of Clans troops, spells and defenses you know and love, as well as the Royales: Princes, Knights, Baby Dragons and more. The past few years have seen a flood of these strategy clones filling every system available. There are 48 kinds of plants with numerous offensive, defensive, and production capabilities, and 26 different zombies. Zombies is charming and addictive, standing right up there with the best of PopCap's offerings like Peggle. The goal of tower defense games is to try to stop enemies from crossing a map by building traps to slow them down and towers which shoot at them as they pass.
Fight on forests, mountains and wastelands, customizing your defensive strategy with different tower upgrades and specializations.
Zombies sees players planting different types of plants, each with their own unique offensive or defensive capabilities, to stop a horde of zombies from devouring the brains of the resident living inside.
As a multiplayer game, Clash of Clans allows players to build their community, train troops, and attack other players to earn gold and elixirs while building their own defenses to protect against attackers.

Master this addictive mix of light RTS and city building, pit your wits against enemies or dominate them by force. In this competitive game, you can adopt the heroes as you wish, like in DotA, then use their skills to defeat your rival; and you also have to protect your camp anytime. It’s got all your favorite characters from Clash of Clans but is a completely different concept and game. Knock the enemy King and Princesses from their towers to defeat your opponents and win Trophies, Crowns and glory in the Arena.
Supercell certainly know how to make an addictive game with Clash and Boom Beach both being huge hits due to the addictive nature of upgrading your base.
You can buy, breed and sell all sorts of fish and you’ll need to keep their tank clean, feed them and amuse them for best results. But, whether they're a fan of the genre or not, pretty much everyone agrees that Plants vs. It has that elusive "special something" that gets its hooks in you and convinces you to forego food, sleep, and other essentials just to see what the next level has in store. Rain fire upon your enemies, summon reinforcements, command your troops, recruit elven warriors and face legendary monsters on a quest to save the Kingdom from the forces of darkness. Players can also use the chat feature to communicate with others and join clans to aid each other. Raise an army, expand the stronghold, assemble a mighty Guild with your allies, rule the realm, stake your claim to be the one true Lord of the Guardians. Although For the horde has not yet been released, its fun gameplay already has attracted many gamers. If you are a serious clasher then this game is directly targeted at you but it’s NOT Clash of Clans.
You pick your characters in a similar way to Plants Vs Zombies and deploy them in an arena to attack your opponents castles. Clash Royale however seems to be more focused on unlocking new cards to use in your attacks and new arenas.
The array of choices means you can customize your strategy and confront the undead on your own terms.
Unfortunately, this version doesn't run as well as the others and has a more expensive price tag.

When an enemy is defeated, the player earns money or points, which are used to buy or upgrade towers, or upgrade the number of money or points that are earned, or even upgrade the rate at which they upgrade", via wikipedia. If you are a fan of Plants Vs Zombies (who isn’t!) then this could be the game for you.
PopCap, one of the best developers around, now brings its excellent tower defense game to the Nintendo DS. These constant rewards really keep you involved and will have you defending your lawn for much longer than you may have expected. It won’t replace either game but seems to be a perfect merger of the two and aimed specifically at clashers. The result is another addictive experience from PopCap -- but it unfortunately doesn't run as well here on the DS.
Some levels take place during the day and some at night, which has a large effect on what plants are available to you, how you harvest sunlight (your resources), and what environmental obstacles you encounter.
Interspersed among the regular levels are more arcade-like variations on the tower defense formula. You may lose the ability to select plants and instead have to make do with random weapons that come down a conveyor belt.
You have some pretty peculiar (but useful) plants at your disposal, including pea shooters that spit at the undead, hot tamales that burn everything in their path, and Venus zombie traps that will devour an enemy in one gulp. By planting various seeds in strategic locations around your lawn you may be able to hold off the onslaught and keep them from entering your house and eating your brain.
It's a very simple design and, while it does eventually become challenging, this is one of the easier tower defense games I've played -- and also one of the most enjoyable. You can't go more than a few minutes in this game without discovering something new and delightful. It also has a catchy soundtrack that becomes more intense as your yard is flooded with enemies.
