July 8, 2014 By Tracy 3 Comments Disclosure: I received tickets for my family to have fun at Adventure Island for free, all opinions are 100% my own!
I love living in Florida – we are so close to so many amazing parks and water parks that there is no way you can ever be bored! Located right across the street from Busch Gardens, Adventure Island is 30 acres of water-drenched fun in the sun, featuring the ultimate combination of high-speed thrills and tropical, tranquil surroundings for guests of all ages.
We actually this lilly-pad climbing adventure our personal Ninja Warriors course ??  If you never watched the TV show, it’s where people compete in fun obstacles!
From there we had to check out some of the slides!  There are a ton to choose from, Steven did the Racer by himself – Sadie chickened out last minute ??  We all enjoyed the slides over on Runaway Rapids (there are FIVE to choose from!), but the tube rides were definitely may favorite.  I like being able to sit back and relax and have fun all at the same time! If you are looking for a bit of extra shade and relaxation, there are personal Cabanas that are available to rent for the day as well.  This is a great way to make sure to have your seats shaded all day long! We were at the park for about 6 hours and there were a few rides and attractions that we didn’t get the chance to do, and the kids are already asking me if we can go back! Adventure Island is definitely a way to spend a fabulous FAMILY FUN day together, the location is perfect here in Central Florida and there is really something for kids (and adults!) of all ages to enjoy. January 2012: If Universal Orlando compares to Disney Hollywood Studios, then Islands of Adventure must be awkwardly compared to the Magic Kingdom. A land dedicated to newspaper comics is a tough sell – no one imagines living inside a comic strip, so how can you tell if it feels real? The only land dedicated to a single movie series, Jurassic Park takes up a lot of room, has tons of plants, and hidden speakers suggest a T-Rex might actually be stomping around somewhere behind a palm tree. After a day spent at Busch Gardens or at nearby Cypress Gardens, enjoy a more relaxing day in Tampa at one of its area beaches. These notable Tampa Bay beaches lie predominantly in and around the Tampa area, with the closest to the city center being Ben T. Clearwater sits along the Gulf of Mexico shore just across the Tampa Bay from downtown Tampa. Virginia theme parks cancel plans as Hurricane Joaquin approaches2016 "gains momentum" as Kings Dominion makes huge announcementIt's time.

In fact, now that summer is here – the water parks were calling out to the kids ?? The best part is that we have an amazing park right here in Tampa – Adventure Island! Enjoy unlimited general weekday admission, Monday through Friday, to Adventure Island throughout the 2014 season for only $47 plus tax for adults and $43 plus tax for children 3-9.
The park has six lands – seven if you count the shops around the entrance – themed to different concepts. The “islands” concept – you cross a bridge between each land – is lost on most guests since there’s more land than water; but the entire park circles a lake, and turning left or right after inside the gate is all you have to know. Each ride is rated using “A” through “E”, with “E” being best, using the old Disney ticket system.
A sit-down restaurant, Mythos, continually ranks high in consumer surveys for food quality and atmosphere. Tampa beaches found near here include the notable Clearwater Beach, the beach at Caladesi Island, and that of Honeymoon island.
It's a bit more serene than the busier Clearwater Beach and features a playground for kids, picnic tables and clean shores. If you feel any of the information above is inaccurate, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We live in North Tampa and the drive was just about 20 minutes, we were able to pack some snacks and we were on our way to all day water fun before 9:30 am! And, like the Magic Kingdom, the theme in at least three lands is consistent, giving guests with a smidgen of imagination a feel for the adventure. While Disney dresses its coasters in darkness, western motifs and rock ‘n roll music, Islands advertises its coasters by speed and the number of 360-degree turns.
In general, an E ticket ride was expensive to produce, offers some kind of special effect, and has a high “wow” factor.
It’s hard to find a single straight line in the entire land, or a color more subtle than canary yellow, bright blue, or fire engine red. Have your share of fun in the sun at one of the Tampa beaches and take a leisurely walk along the shore at sunset before heading out on the town for some dinner and nightlife.
The powder white sand at this beach offers a nice escape from the city, and is ideal for a picnic or just hanging out before heading downtown for some city fun.

Clearwater Beach is a favorite among the beaches in Tampa, and its gleeming white sand and sparkling blue water offers a great backdrop for weddings in Florida.
One of the best Tampa beaches for swimming, the rock barrier offshore keeps the water nice and calm.
The park has an inner tube water ride like Animal Kingdom’s Kali River, but it’s faster and has steeper drops. It is one of the busiest Tampa Bay beaches, and its white sand stretch is decorated with surfboards, sailboards and sailboats.
Different Florida events and holidays are celebrated here, and recreation includes boat and water sport rentals. Pete Beach is a great spot for water sport rentals, and fisherman can head out for deep sea fishing on one of the charter boats found here.
Here you'll find dozens of restaurants and shops, and the chance to rent wave runners, motorized rubber rafts and power boats. Caladesi Island offers a nice getaway spot where you often feel like you have escaped from society. Pete Beach down the Pinellas Bayway toll road, you'll find an out of the way selection for beaches in Tampa at Fort DeSoto Park. The beach here offers a pristine 7-mile stretch and recreational activities can be found canoeing, kayaking, bicycling or skating along Fort DeSoto trails. To reach Caladesi Island, you must board a ferry from either Honeymoon Island or the Clearwater Marina. Honeymoon Island State Recreation Area features a beach formed when a 1921 hurricane cleared a sandy strip. It is among the more secluded beaches in Tampa and is ideal for fishing, swimming or enjoying a picnic.
