Dear Woodlake resident:

Join us this evening for Disney's Brave. The first Moonlight Movie of the season takes place this evening at 8:30 p.m. Bring your family, snacks, blankets and chairs to East West Legacy Park, and watch the movie under the stars. We expect clear skies, but the ground is a little damp, so you may want to bring a tarp for under your blanket.

Dispersal Effort Planned for Cormorants. The Woodlake Environmental Committee (WEC), working with the USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), will be working to disperse the Cormorants, which have returned to the lake in larger numbers this spring. The dispersal is scheduled to begin in late afternoon on May 14, 15 and 16. APHIS will be utilizing a motorized boat for this effort, which has been approved by the necessary authorities. You may hear loud noises, that sound similar to fireworks. Pyrotechnics and lights will be used to disperse the birds away the Swift Creek Reservoir shoreline. The outcome will be to discourage the birds from continuing to nest in the area and to prevent additional damage to the natural landscape. We ask for your patience during this endeavor and hope that you will not be alarmed by the noise as we work to protect the health of the reservoir.
