Good article but slanted in the sense that there’s no mention of ongoing maintenance on panels or deterioration of solar panels over time nor the life expectancy of panels exposed to sun, rain, ice, snow and bird droppings. Robust expansion can be observed across virtually all segments of the clean tech sector, with total employment across clean technology segments growing 11.8 percent from 2007 to 2010, a period when overall US employment was stagnant (Figure 1). Indeed nanotech in photovoltaics can pretty much be considered a whole field of its own nowadays. Natural assemblers make use of sunlight, and nanomachines can make use of sunlight, hydrogen fuel, and the rest.
