A car seat can only be passed on to someone else if it has never been in an accident and has not gone past the manufacturer’s expiration date. I contacted the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation to find out about recycling options in my state.
Note: If your area does not recycle car seats, saw the plastic shell in half (or destroy it some other way) before putting it in the trash. Ideally, the responsibility would lie with the car seat manufacturer under something called Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), which requires manufacturers to be engaged in the entire lifecycle of a product, including disposal. If you can’t recycle the car seat and don’t want to trash it, perhaps your kids have some creative ideas for reuse? What can be made from all of the empty Red Bull cans discarded by the thousands of fans getting up early to catch the night race?

Circulated message that features pictures of intricate model cars made from aluminium cans claims that the models were made by the late Albert (Tapper) Torney of Australia's Broken Hill. After he died in 1998 (aged 86) his large collection of model cars made from aluminum cans was discovered. This message, which features a series of images depicting amazing model cars made out of aluminium cans, claims that the models were made by Albert (Tapper) Torney, late of Broken Hill, Australia. There is little doubt that Sandy rather than Albert made the models in the circulating pictures.
I became aware of this hoax email a few years ago, and I have no idea where or by whom it was started. Every couple of days I get emails from people all around the world that have thought that the Albert Tapper email looked a bit phoney, and have googled and found my cars, and hence me. But, while the message misidentifies the real creator of the can models, the other information about Albert (Tapper) Torney is correct.

Some reports suggest that Albert also made can models, although I'm and yet to confirm these reports. According to this email, which claims to be from the 'Support Department' at 'Information Technology Services', your internet capacity is 70% full and you therefore need to contact support to avoid problems. Message being distributed across Facebook claims that users can receive free coupons from American retailer Kroger just by sharing a message and visiting a third party website to claim their prize. Hoax-Slayer debunks email and social media hoaxes, thwarts Internet scammers, combats spam, and educates web users about email, social media, and Internet security issues. Made in Germany during Paik’s early years as an artist, Can Car was constructed by soldering together two rusty oil drums, and originally powered with a small electric motor.
That doesn’t appear to be happening, and now I’m ready to clear out much of the baby stuff that’s hogging precious storage space in our basement. Even though Sofie’s 2006 car seat is accident-free and still in good condition, it is too old to safely donate. While we have no drop-off centers, the Recycling Program Manager informed me that if I disassembled the car seat myself, I could then drop off the plastic and fabric components at their facility for recycling.
It took me all of about ten minutes to disassemble the car seat (I was slightly disturbed by this) and to separate it into its plastic, fabric and metal components. Usted está en serio en necesidad de un préstamo urgente para iniciar su propio negocio? He indeed collected cans and bottles around the town for many years before his death in 1998.
According to the message, Albert collected cans and bottles around Broken Hill for many years. I was actually contacted by the Broken Hill Museum to ask us if I was the actual creator of these cars which I am, as they were getting so many people phoning them and calling in to find out about the cars. I just ask them to reply to who sent them the email, and for them to reply etc to reverse the email trend. They subsequently confirmed in a reply email that, although Albert did go around collecting bottles in his day, the car models in the photographs were not his.
Sandy should be acknowledged for his artwork and his talent should not be attributed to another.

Its playful spirit and repurposing of discarded materials reflects Paik’s involvement with Fluxus, an anarchic network of artists and composers who challenged traditional ideas of what art should be. Most manufacturers list an expiration date on the seat, and if you can’t find one, six years is often considered the limit.
The return they receive on recycling the components (about 15 cents per pound) is not enough to offset the staffing cost to disassemble and separate car seats.
Nos ocupamos de que le proporciona la cantidad necesaria para la realización de sus proyectos. It got so frequent that they decided to do something as they had never heard of this Tapper fellow. They also note that, at the time the models would have been made, Albert was an old man living in a nursing home.
And, Albert was a colourful and interesting character in his own right and it is unfair that his name has been forever hitched to an untruth. However, some towns will offer one-day community recycling events to which you can bring your car seat (and usually other bulky items as well). The pictured models were made by New Zealand resident, Sandy and can be viewed on his Sandy CanCars website.A There are reports that Albert did make can models, but these reports remain unsubstantiated. It seems doubtful that Albert would have found many discarded New Zealand beer cans in his travels around Broken Hill.
In 1961 he met George Maciunas, the central figure of Fluxus, who invited Paik to join the group. The materials degrade over time, especially from the intense ultraviolet light coming through car windows. The site also provides detailed information about how the can cars are made and how Sandy came to start building them.
