A preview of Android 4.3 by Pocketnow suggests huge improvements to battery-life, with the site reporting 25 hours of heavy usage. Other improvements noted were auto-complete for the phone dialer (offered on some carriers now but not a standard part of Android 4.2), new emoticons, and improved camera UI and responsiveness to change in orientation (which is already in the HTC One Google Play edition).
In addition to changing your oil, replacing air filters and other general service tasks, taking care of your car’s battery is one of the most effective ways to ensure your car runs smoothly and without any problems. Flat or damaged batteries are one of the top causes for roadside assistance calls, and a huge amount of breakdowns occur because of batteries that are simply too old for the job they’re performing.
In this guide, we’ll break down the facts regarding your car’s battery and help you determine when it’s time to choose a replacement. Although batteries can last for five years or more when properly cared for, most car batteries will become worn down and inefficient within three years of everyday use in normal conditions. Just like your computer or smartphone’s battery becomes less efficient with every charge, your car’s battery gradually deteriorates every time it’s charged up by the vehicle’s engine. Even a car with a highly defective battery will function properly once it’s running, since much of the charge for the battery will come from the engine.
As a general rule, the more sophisticated your car’s on-board computers are, the bigger the strain on its battery.
These computers can draw energy from your car’s battery at a slow, steady rate, wearing it down over time. If you use your car infrequently, avoid letting its battery become drained by on-board computer systems by taking it for a short drive – around the block once or twice will do – to recharge its battery every week or two.
The next time you take your car into the garage for a routine service, make sure to ask for its battery to be checked. Testing a battery is easy, and every reputable garage or repair shop will have its own set of electronic testers on hand to test yours. If your battery is showing signs of wear and hasn’t been replaced in two or three years, don’t take any risks. If your car has stop-start technology and you’re replacing its battery yourself, make sure you purchase a suitable replacement. By the way, if you’re replacing your battery yourself – which is quite simple on many cars – it’s important that you dispose of it safely. Just like driving aggressively will wear down your vehicle’s tyres and brakes, driving without thinking about your battery will reduce its lifespan. Changing your car’s battery every 2-3 years will keep it running at its best and help you avoid embarrassing roadside or car park breakdowns.

Once you decided to go for an Apple laptop instead of an Apple Desktop, you automatically have to work with a battery since it is a portable device.
A battery cycle is basically nothing more than a battery that is fully charged after it was gone to 0%.
Opinion: Does integrated VoIP support in iOS 10 signal the beginning of the end for voice plans? We know you like iOS 7.1, but with a lot of chatter about reduced battery-life, and the only test so far based on a small sample and having results falling within the margin of error, we thought it would be useful to get a sense of how prevalent the issue might be. We recognize, of course, that there are a huge number of variables involved in battery-life. There has been an absolute increase in battery drain rate on my phone since installing 7.1. At first I thought it was the app that was causing the drastic drain – I started using the app right after the install and I could watch my batter drain a % a minute. Today I’m at about 1 hour 40 minutes of use (Google Music about 45 minutes of that) and batter is at 67%. I had major problems with this update, my 5 was dead inside three or four hours on two occasions. I followed advice here – switched off Location Services for most apps, closed all apps that were multitasking but not needed especially those previously using Location Services), switched phone off and back on.
On track for between 4 and 5 hours of usage (at 2 hours 20 minutes I’m down to 54% batter life). Much can go wrong when changing out the battery(s) in today’s cars – far from harmless as back in the day.
You see:  your “network car” (see last week’s blog) is still networking between modules after shutdown (for up to 45 min on some cars)! If power is removed or not sufficient enough during this digital communicating it becomes corrupted – that’s when the wrong happens!
Yup – the smart fuse boxes along with other modules become fatally damaged – all because the plug was pulled before it should’ve or an attempt was taken to start the car with a failing battery!
Anyway -all car manufactures have their own “End on-board electrical system functions” procedure to safely end the networking going on before a “battery disconnect” on their cars.
One more important reason that your “take to shop” should attend frequent training for the car you drive to keep updated on things like this – and to safeguard you from costly repairs – we do!
The iPad Air is all-new, and all-thin, but its battery should still last you every bit as long.
The iPad Air may be smaller and much thinner than any full-sized iPad before it, but Apple still promises the same great battery life.
The point is, it's almost impossible to realistically assess a change in battery life if you've also changed your usage pattern. Before you do anything drastic, put your device down for a few minutes and then check the battery change. If, in general, your battery life is consistently short and you're basically just watching the indicator drain down before your eyes, here are some things to try, in order of how easy they are to do. If your battery life is normal but you still find yourself needing extra power on some occasions, there are a few things you can do. Turn off Background app and content refresh: Don't waste power downloading things when you don't explicitly need to.
There are some old tricks you can try when you're in a jam as well, and the new Control Center makes it really easy to do many of these really quickly now! If you're really desperate, put your iPad into Airplane Mode and save the radios for when you need them.
Be sure to let us know how what you're seeing with your iPad Air battery life, and if any of these tips, or any other tips, help you improve it, make sure to tell us! From what I hear, double-tapping the home button and "closing" each app don't really "kill" the app.
Please, i am looking for anyone that may have an opinion and experiences with this manufacturer and their VRV line of toyhaulers. I have seen 1 of their quicksilver campers and it looked to be of great quality- bit it was brand new, barley used, so no problems have risen yet. Like the VRV because it is all alum, lightweight; and somewhat spartan but with all the necessities. These are definitely more along the line of a tricked out CargoTrailer with living quarters. I checked out one of their 13ft TT models (wasn't interested in that unit but it was the only example I could find locally).

I sure do like their interiors, but the example I saw had the vertical laminate trim around the table de-laminating. Not to justify it, but all manufacturers send out trailers that have a few issues and the dealer has a responsibility to "prep" the trailer. I was hoping to find some people with knowledge on their long term durability or any issues that are arising after having had one for a few years or just a few trips.
There are quite a bit of positive responses all over the net from people with them that are quite satisfied. Please understand I'm not speaking from experience, I've never owned a LL trailer and I've only see one example, so I could be way off. I'm interested in a VRV myself, but unless I can lay my hands on one for an up close and personal look, then I'm not comfortable buying it. I will certainly update this thread with my experiences and opinions of the LivinLite VRV so that future buyers will have better references.
I looked at these and was impressed by the concept, but I ultimitely chose one that has more creature comforts.
I was concerned about keeping it warm (heat strip only in this particular model), the small refrig and cook top, and didn't like the combo bath and shower in this particular model. In addition- these VRV models all have Atwood LPG wall heaters(or atleast an option for one)- the one in my popup gets my camper so hot in the winter that we usually have to open a window if we forgot to turn it down. I am more concerned with the natural attributes of all Aluminum construction in the transmission of cold. I optioned a walk on roof and then some -gives double trussed roof (8" OC) and an extra composite panel spanning the whole roof.
It's been so long since we ordered (a few weeks after you, toward end of Jan), I've almost forgotten what they look like, etc!
Still out a week or so, GOING CRAZY at this point it was outta site and mind, but now its too close and im ready! 10 - Outside door latches for tilt out beds are heavy duty, the ramp door latches are different smaller and cheaper. 11 - He brings it home 1st night goes out to have a beer in it, It's raining the rear passenger side is leaking like a sieve. He calls VRV Factory and dealership on Monday, needs the correct spare and scissor lifts shipped to him by Thursday so he can mount and leave for ATV trip on Friday. He finally get front jacks and spare shipped to him, the front jacks are the bottle jacks they use on pop up campers. Week later takes the camper back to dealership, they fix scratches, leveled latches, mounted second battery correctly, fixed leak re-weld helmet rack. Sorry for your buddy Mucc68, that is a world of suck hes in and hope he gets thru it to the fun.
We also had some small but noticeable dents on the front interior cabinets when it got delivered. 3 Tank level monitoring system and the Morningstar solar charge and battery level monitor above the stove.
Moved the propane tanks back against the wall and added a Highway Products 24x18 box for the battery and other stuff.
We also put a clothesline up, for privacy curtain and also to hang stuff to dry if we can't hang outside for some reason. I don't have toys to haul, but I considered a VRV instead of a camper only because of the wide open interior and the back screen. Does anyone know if Livin' Lite makes their own pull down screen that's in the back of these or if they have them made from another vendor? Good catch - doesn't seem like they offer a whole lot of options to consumers, but VRV probably gets the screen printing done by another vendor.
Snobrdr314 wrote:I love these trailers, We're considering a 7x18 to pull our RZR behind our new Explorer. I searched for a dealer nearby that carries VRV toy hauler trailers, but most of them only have the CampLite line from Livin' Lite. By chance, we found out a local bank was also running good financing rates during the RV show, so you might look out for that if you're financing.
The only thing I wish was different about ours was that we had a bigger one and had 2 tipouts. My advise- Make sure you have it inspected by a thirdparty before delivery if you are not going out to pick it up on your own.

It was built at the factory, of course, and then I had it delivered to me by Uship on my own accord. It was VERY worth the couple hundred dollars it cost- for piece of mind and to save me the trouble of having it repaired under warranty away from the factory if something needed repair.
Really recommend using him as a middle man inspection if you are having one built and then shipped to you. Your actual Monthly Payments will depend on your personal credit scores, history, and down-payment amount. I really want one of these, primarily for winter ski area and ski touring hillside accommodations.
As a reminder, I use my phones quite a bit more than the average user, so my battery life is expectedly lower than what most should expect to get. Most of us judge a car based on its engine capacity, its fuel efficiency, its size or the level of comfort it offers.
As one of the most important parts of any modern vehicle, your car’s battery manages a massive range of tasks and devices, from starting the engine to powering in-car computers.
We’ll also share car-specific tips to help you get the most from your vehicle’s battery and extend its lifespan. This makes the best time to test your car’s battery shortly after you switch your vehicle on.
However, features that have significant power demands that are powered by the battery, like headlights, may not function as well as they should. A completely broken battery is even easier to spot: when you turn the key in the ignition or push your car’s ignition switch, it won’t start at all. Many new cars have powerful computers that are operating all the time, even when the vehicle itself is parked and switched off.
Although the charge each computer draws is tiny, the aggregate effect can drain your car’s battery when it sits unused for a long time. Battery wear isn’t always steady – your vehicle’s battery could go from 90% performance to 20% over the course of a few months.
Regular tests can reveal when your battery needs to be replaced and help you avoid embarrassing breakdowns.
Car batteries are inexpensive, and the small cost of a replacement is worth it to avoid the stress of a roadside breakdown. Cars with engines that are designed to automatically switch off when at a standstill place a greater strain on their batteries than standard vehicles, and often need to use a special battery. Your nearest automotive shop will stock a battery designed to accommodate your vehicle’s extra needs. Find your nearest hazardous waste disposal service and never throw your car battery out with the rest of your rubbish.
If you take good care of your battery, you’ll be able to get far more life out of it than usual. Whether your car works as new or its lights and other electronic devices are starting to show signs of age, there is no bad time to check your battery’s condition.

So every time that the battery is been charged and discharged 100%, it will count as a cycle. This free application lets you keep track of what percentage of total power is still available, and how long till the one year data is coming up. Just click on the ? on the top left, and click on about this mac and then select ‘More Info”. Even if your phone usage is reasonably consistent, a single extra phone call or a bit longer spent browsing the web can account for the relatively small differences most are reporting. Normally I use Spotify to stream my music, and I can get a good 2 hours or so out of that before my battery drops down to 80%. I’ll use the Google Play Music app for the same amount of time as I did yesterday and see what happens. Switched over to using Spotify after using Google Play Music and the phone still overheated and the battery drain was 1% per minute. That translates into up to 10 hours of web surfing or video watching on Wi-Fi, 9 hours on cellular (if you have a cellular model), and a whopping 24-hours as a personal hotspot.
In other words, if you're battery feels like it's only lasting half as long, the first step to fixing it is figuring out if you're using it twice as much first.
If there isn't a big change while in standby, you're probably okay and your battery life will return to normal when your usage returns to normal (after the novelty wears off). Double-click the Home Button to activate the multitasking car view, hold your finger down on power-hungry apps, and then fling them off the screen to close them - here's how to quit and kill apps in iOS 7. About once a month, and certainly if you think you're having problems, you should completely drain your iPad's battery -- drain it until it shuts down on its own -- and then charge it back up to full.
If you're using a cellular iPad in an area of weak signal, or at the edge of LTE or 3G support, your radio could be screaming away on full power just trying to stay on the network, or switching between connection types, and wasting a lot of power. Sometimes you do get a lemon, or your iPad develops a real problem that only Apple can solve by either swapping it for another device or otherwise figuring out a fix. Whether it's cruft or corruption, bit rot or simply bad bits, a clean install as a new device -- incredible pain in the butt though it may be -- is usually the best fix for any battery life issues. Go to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, and turn off any app and system service you really don't need tracking or using your location. Likewise, go to Settings, Notifications, and turn off any app you don't care to be alerted about.
Stocks, and particularly weather in Notification Center seem to be causing our readers some battery grief.
It will cramp your search style, but if you don't need the index process running right now, turn it off.
I was very tempted last November when a local dealer who no longer carried them had a left over 2010 26' base camp with both fold out beds option on close out at $14,995.
Here's a quote from their web page: "Featuring QUICKSILVER's famous ALL-ALUMINUM construction, the VRV is built to stand the test of time while offering the lightest trailers on the market. On Android 4.3, without changing my usage habits, I was surprised to see the phone last all day, all evening, and still had charge enough to get me to work the next morning.
Battery warranty depends on two factors: one of them is the age of the battery and the number of cycles.
Scroll down to “Power” and you will find the amount of cycles, among other information like “condition”. We’re all like slaves standing next to an outlet waiting for our phones to charge while using it. Today my battery was at 57% and then when I went to respond to a text a few moments later the screen showed the picture above. If its your first iPad in particular, there's so much new to learn and discover, you can spend hours exploring the built-in app alone. If your device continued to drain, and drain fast, even when you weren't using it, there's a problem. This is key for apps like VoIP (like Skype), streaming audio (like Pandora), or navigation (like TomTom). There could be a rogue process or something else doing what it shouldn't be doing, and a restart can often fix that. That re-calibrates the battery indicator and you'll get a more realistic idea of what your levels are. Good LTE signal is more power efficient than good 3G signal (because the radio can fire up, do its job, and power down much, much quicker), but bad LTE signal is just as bad as bad 3G, which is terrible. His spare tire is not the same diameter of the tire on the trailer ( I think this would be a safety issue), VRV tells him they can't find the same tire.
Any and all Warranty Plan confirmation including Warranty Plan Documents and Application Forms will be issued upon purchase. But I was NOT seeing a 1% per minute drain before 7.1 while using other apps while streaming music.
My phone overheats to the point where I can’t even put the phone against my ear to talk.
In our early tests - we've only had the iPad Air for a few days so far - it's predictably living up to those levels. Also, if it feels unusually hot, even when you're not playing games, tethering, or doing some other high-power activity, there may be a problem as well. You will have to set up absolutely everything again, and you will lose all your saved data like game levels, but in most cases your battery life will be better than ever.
