Coming in at just under $1000, the LifeSpan TR 1200i Folding Treadmill is a treadmill aimed at those looking to get serious about their fitness. With the included LifeSpan Fitness Club account, the TR 1200i claims to allow users to easily track their progress with access to constant reports of their achievements and exercise results. LCD Console: One of the first things you notice about the LifeSpan TR 1200i is the control console. The buttons to control the treadmill are large and smooth to operate, and you can change settings comfortably during operation without losing your balance. Comfort: A must for treadmills in this price range, the LifeSpan TR 1200i does not disappoint. The TR 1200i has 15 levels of incline, but even at its most steep, the running deck shows no signs of being under pressure. The 2.5 horsepower motor is more than powerful enough to cope with all of the training programs that come with the TR 1200i, and that is encouraging for more experienced runners who will push their treadmill to the limit during training.
Your LifeSpan Fitness Club account is specific to you, and through this users can receive much more specific information about their training and health statistics. Although the Fitness Club registration can be a little tricky to start with, once in place it is a fantastic resource for keeping an accurate and up to date record of your achievements and goals. Heart Rate Sensors: The bane of many treadmills and other exercise equipment, the LifeSpan TR 1200i displays an all too characteristic trait of not giving accurate heart rate readings. With a selection of 17 pre-set programs, customizable training programs and a heart rate control program, the LifeSpan TR 1200i certainly offers users both variety and reliability.
It is a shame that the alignment of screws and holes can be off, as there is so little assembly required in the first place.
Hazard: The treadmill can unexpectedly accelerate and cause users to fall and sustain injuries.
Sold at: Discount department and other retail stores nationwide from December 2002 through April 2005 for between $350 and $600. Packed full of features and training programs, the LifeSpan TR 1200i is a sturdy, reliable piece of machinery that combines comfort and performance to offer users a thorough workout customized to their exact needs. Similarly, there are control buttons on the handlebar, so users that are more comfortable using the handlebars for support when exercising can change settings without having to remove their hands. The large 20 x 56 inch running belt is extremely accommodating for users of all heights and sizes, and the bio-mechanical deck suspension system stands up to the manufacturers claims of offering a smooth and comfortable platform for the more vigorous training programs. There is no movement and the treadmill does not show any indication of any additional strain. For close to $1,000 you would expect the TR 1200i to be a comfortable machine to use, but it is a pleasant surprise to see just how comfortable it actually is.
This is an online exercise management program that allows members to not only keep an up to date record of their training, but to track their health also.
When you use the TR 1200i, the treadmill records your information on a USB storage device, which in turn updates your LifeSpan Fitness Club records. It comes with quite simple instructions and there is not a whole lot of construction required. With a sturdy design that is not phased by excessive and energetic use, and an online health management system that allows you to track your progress while receiving feedback in the form of personalized reports, the TR 1200i is a fantastic treadmill. However, once you do get the LifeSpan TR 1200i up and running, you most likely won’t be stopping anytime soon. It has been engineered with precision technology to provide users with a smooth, comfortable workout experience.
These 155- to 170-pound motorized treadmills are gray in color and can be folded upright for storage. CPSC does not control this external site or its privacy policy and cannot attest to the accuracy of the information it contains.
In fact, there is a complete lack of technological features, although this tends to be the norm for spin bikes. The large display console constantly displays a whole range of relevant information, including time, speed, incline, calories burned, distance covered, number of steps taken and your heart rate.
However, some users have mentioned that putting the treadmill together proved more troublesome than it should be. It boasts many unique features, such as the 3-position adjustable pedal angle, and comes with a generous warranty.

Consumer Product Safety Commission announces the following recall in voluntary cooperation with the firm below. The name "Sportcraft" and product identification of "Tredex 6.0", "TX 440" or "TX 550" are printed on the control console of the treadmill. You may wish to review the privacy policy of the external site as its information collection practices may differ from ours.
This means you can simply turn on the treadmill, select a training program and start running without having to set up the machine for your specific measurement target. Some of the screw holes on the handlebars do not line up perfectly, and this can result in quite a bit of elbow grease being needed to assemble the treadmill properly. However, if your grip is anything less but perfectly central over the sensors, the heart rate readings are quite clearly not indicative of your actual current heart rate.

After putting it together (it took 2 people to carry it in the house as it's 400 lbs) it's awesome! Nicole dispatched a service technician immediately to take care of the issue that was causing the popping sound. She also followed up, calling back the day after the service tech was scheduled to be there to make sure the tech arrived and took care of the problem.
Since then, the machine is performing flawlessly, and I look forward to using it every day.
If you want to seriously kick your butt, lose weight and get in shape, you can, and you don't have to worry about the weather, or cars, or dogs chasing you.
Protection Plan, so that I can get an annual check up by a Nordic Track service tech, have unlimited in home service visits, and keep my machine working great.
Really looking forward to increasing my speed, incline & ultimately my stamina and heart health. Was upset that I couldn't watch Netflix, but I rather listen to great music and transport myself into one of the iFIT programs.
Super excited about my body transformation that will continue to happen with handwork, dedication, and this AWESOME machine.
The X9i is the second NordicTrack product I have purchased and it has lived up to everything I expected.

It is a very solid machine that comes loaded with technology that draws you to wanting to work out.
Everything from the internet and iFit, to pre-programmed workout routines that really get the job done. My wife enjoys it as much as I do and quickly established a routine that brings her back day after day. I enjoy the workout more because I can see almost any part of the world and it makes the time pass as I am getting in shape.
The construction is solid, the adjustable feet eliminate wobble, and the electric motors are not intrusively noisy.
The main screen is actually an Android tablet with special fitness related apps to help you get a better workout, or help you catch up on your latest music or video feeds. If that is the case, you need to stop the workout, and consult your owner's manual to get the proper procedure to bring ramp inclination and indicator back into sync.
Not a big issue for us, since we only use it for walking, not fiddling constantly with the inclination settings, not using the Google Maps ™ workout. We particularly enjoy the iFit option and love being able to not only use existing map routes, but being able to draw our own. Finally, being able to read the news our viewing or listening to your favorite video or music makes it but more appealing to us. The only complaint I have from my entire experience is that the product did not arrive when it was suppose to. Many days training time is minimal but I still need to get a quality workout with specific goals. One of my biggest concerns was whether this product would be a high a quality and offer the same feel as the commercial units at my gym. The functionality with the iFit system offers nice variety but the basic bones of this unit is hearty enough to support my hardest workouts. My one and only beef is with the fact that the Android system does not allow for connectivity with sites like Netflix. After doing extensive research regarding the best equipment for cardio and overall fitness I settled on the Incline Trainer. The Ifit app was a major part of my decision to buy the incline trainer, but after getting to know the equipment I realize even with out Ifit you can get a fabulous and greatly varied workout just by using the programs included in the X9i.
I look forward to my daily workouts and find I usually spend more time on the X9i than I had intended because I'm enjoying it so much! Ive jogged by the eiffel tower and in regents park outside london before my work day this week. The ifit piece for tracking progress has been great as well and the engine is whisper silent. The guys Nordic track paid to delvier mine for 99 bucks completely dropped the ball and left it outside. My only suggestion is that if you purchase an incline trainer from Nordictrack that you purchase the white glove service.
The cost of moving and crate disposal is identical to what I would have paid for white glove. I usually run on the road but the X9i is proving to be more effective in building stamina and burning calories that straight street running. It is a serious piece of equipment and weighs a lot so getting someone else to set it up for you makes life so much easier that trying to carry it to where you will use it and set it up yourself.
If you're going to spend this much money on a piece of equipment then having the extended warranty gives you peace of mind if something does go wrong. You can get on the internet if you're walking or send yourself an email of your workout at the end. The only negative I noticed is it doesn't seem like the heart rate readers you place your hands on are very accurate as my heart rate was anywhere from 70 to 170 bpm in a very short span of time.
