Kettlebells (KB) have swept the mainstream fitness media and they are gaining popularity more than ever. Being a Russian Kettlebell Certified (RKC) Instructor, I decided to put together a video demonstrating the most foundational kettlebell exercise which is the swing. You may feel that I talk about too many technical points in the video but each of them matters if you really want to do kettlebell swings properly.
One more thing to think about before you perform any kettlebell exercise are the shoes you are wearing.
I showed you several ways you have more variety in your kettlebell workouts even if you just now the beginner exercises like the swing and goblet squat. Note: If you are completely new to doing swings, you may want to start at 5 minutes and work your way up especially because you may get too sore the next few days. Perform 5 sets for your first workout and work your way up as your strength and conditioning improves.
Just by looking at the 3 workouts above, you can have an idea of how much variety you can have with your workouts even if you only know 1-2 kettlebell exercises. Turkish Get-ups are different from swings wherein you have to really focus on doing each step slowly and carefully. As a fitness trainer who trains people with different backgrounds and walks of life, I have to be able to modify exercises in varying situations. So, I’ve compiled 5 different options that you can do if you are one of those people who do not want to further worsen your knee problems. By now, I am immune to infomercials for ab equipments but I see these commercials for Shape Ups and Easy Tone as another generation for exploiting the public’s need for immediate gratification. In fact, a rowing machine is twice as effective, as far as burning calories is concerned, than a workout on a stationary bike. Because of all the reasons mentioned above, rowing machines can be found in thousands of so called “home gyms” and homes all over the world.
You see, in order to get the most out of your rowing machine workouts, you are going to have to follow certain rules and instructions. We will walk about each of those in detail in a second, because first, we need to talk about how to properly start your workout! Sit as comfortable as possible on the the seat, strap your feet tightly into the machine’s foot pads and grab the handles with a strong, overhand grip. Extend your arms toward the flywheel until they are completely straight and make sure that you keep your wrists flat at all times. Then you should keep your core tight, keep your arms straight and keep your back firm, while transferring the power to the handles. Start to gradually bend your knees and slide forward on your seat until you return to the position from which you started your work out (the one described on step 1 of this guide).

Injuries are rare due to the low impact and ‘feet on the ground’ action of the cross trainer.
Treadmills have the highest impact and therefore the highest risk of injury, but walking and running are great cardio and fat-burning exercises. In fact, there is at least one of them in pretty much every gym in the world, regardless of how big and well equipped it is. Furthermore, using a good rowing machine, will also help you to shape and sculpt your entire body.
There is a slight problem with that, however: most people spend a lot of time trying to figure out which are the best rowing machines for them and their homes and they spend next to no time when it comes to learning how to use them properly.
