GETrack Version 1.0

Now you can record tracking data from your bluetooth GPS receiver and send the track via bluetooth to your PC for direct use with "Google Earth". For business, holidays and fun.

There's no need for any conversion software on the PC side. The tracking data is ready to be used with "Google Earth". These files can then be sent by email to your friends or put them on your website.

On the PC side you only need a bluetooth dongle and the ability to receive files from your phone.

You can choose a logging interval from 10,20,30,60 and 300 seconds which covers driving speeds by car and bike and is also suitable for hiking tours.

Compatible with Series 60 devices (6600 FW 4.09.1 and better and later models).

You need "Goole Earth" Version 3.0 or better, a NMEA compatible bluetooth GPS receiver and you must be able to receive files via bluetooth from your phone.

While the software is quite self explaining here are some short instructions:

First of all make sure your GPS receiver is paired with your phone. Please consult your GPS receiver's manual for that.

If not done before, install GETrack on your phone. You can send it to your phone by bluetooth, email or any other way you normally install software on your phone.

The first time you start GETrack, turn on your GPS device and choose "Set GPS Device". The phone now looks for your device. Choose the right one from the list and choose "Ok".

Now you're ready to collect tracking data.

Every time you want to collect tracking data, first turn on your GPS device and then choose "Start" from the GETrack menue. Now you can choose the sampling rate. That's how often the current position is logged.

When you are finished with collecting data choose "Stop". Now you have to confirm that the collection of data should stop.

Now you can give your new track a name. The name defaults to "MyTrack". Then the track is saved in phone memory. You should not use the same name twice since you won't know which track it is when you see two entries with the same name.

While you are collecting data you can use "Pause" to pause the recording. Make sure to not turn off the GPS receiver while in pause mode.

If you want to delete a recorded track you can choose "Delete track". Then you have to choose which track to delete.

When you want to send the tracking data to your PC you have to choose "Send track". Then the phone scans for bluetooth devices able to receive it. When the scan is complete you can choose your PC from the list of bluetooth devices and the data will be send.

When you use Windows XP using the Microsoft Bluetooth Software you first have to choose "Receive file" from the bluetooth menu on your PC.

When the file is stored on your PC you can start the resulting *.kml file by double clicking on it. "Google Earth" will start and you can start exploring your track or "fly" along the route.
