As fall approaches, many of us may find ourselves struggling to stay motivated to exercise as the weather gets colder. With that in mind, I've put together 10 of my favorite exercise motivation quotes from a wide variety of athletes, authors, and philosophers to help you start out fall on the right track.
We spend so much time and energy focused on professional and financial pursuits that we tend to overlook the importance of exercise and our own physical well-being. You should ensure that you are healthy and fit enough to follow the fitness regime and are not putting yourself in any type of danger, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or are on medication.
None of these things mean that you cannot exercise, but simply that a doctor must check you out first. I want to help you get out of your head and develop a strong mindset that doesn’t need to “get or find motivation” so you can get down to the business of creating a healthy fit body. Your first workout, won’t be fun, but you’ll power through it because you are committed and something motivated you enough to join a boot camp or buy a DVD, or hire a personal trainer. Your second workout might be even harder, because you know what to expect and your body is hurting, but your still thinking about that thing that motivated you. Your third workout, if you go, will be hard, but you are starting to feel muscles you may have never felt before and you WANT so bad to enjoy your workout and keep going. Expect every workout will be better, you’ll be fitter, and your performance will most likely increase if and when you stay consistent.
Yes, some people might find that strange, because after all “it’s just a workout, but you KNOW how hard it was to get here, fight the negative self-talk, internal judgments, fears, and doubts. Computers, brakes, consoles, lcd monitors, pedals, seats, plastics, cables, belts, bearings, gears, steering, electronics, power supply’s and much more.

One of the things I regret in my weight loss journey was not lifting weights from the start. If someone judges you, and they well, don’t take it personally, their ideas of you are none of your business.

You brought it today, you sweat it out, you don’t look at the end of your workout, and you are PROUD of it. Sign up for several classes a week and rotate through several of them to keep things fresh. If you aren’t having fun or if the trainer is playing with their phone the entire session, find a new one. You need to give your body enough energy to allow you to exercise successfully, as well as for your body to recover effectively and to prevent ill health.
Your excuses are no good anymore, if you have a legitimate “my kid got in a fight at school” excuse then you better be ready to re-plan and organize the rest of your day to include some type of movement. What’s more, some experts believe that you don’t actually burn more fat, but burn up muscle! I mix it up with machines, free weights and simple body weight exercises (like lunges and squats).
There has to be something that you can do with skill, you just have to try all the classes to find which one works for you.
Which is why it’s best to veer on the side of caution and have at least a light snack or a protein smoothie before you head out the door!
