Get Plenty of Exercise – Today most of us have very sedentary lives in artificial lighting, which makes it more important to get plenty of exercise each day. Meditate before Bed – It can be hard to clear the mind of the day’s trouble and excitement, but a great way to do it is to try meditation. Take a Hot Bath – Stress can be relieved in a hot bath, especially if you add aromatherapy to it such as lavender oil. Limit Screen Time – The light on your TV screens, computer screens and mobile devices can actually adversely affect your sleep cycles. Avoid Eating too Close to Bedtime – The digestive process can interrupt the sleeping process if you’re not careful. Keep Regular Wake and Bed Times – While the occasional party will not ruin your sleep schedule, staying up too late or mixing up your sleep cycle too many times can affect your ability to get the right amount of sleep. Use Progressive Muscle Relaxation – When you’re in the bed, try a relaxation technique that requires that you tense then relax each of your muscles one at a time, starting with your toes and moving up to your head. Avoid Alcohol – Drinking even a nightly glass of wine can interfere in your natural sleep cycle, including REM sleep which is very important to getting quality sleep. Redecorate Your Bedroom – Create an oasis of relaxation in your bedroom, ridding your bedroom of electronics and any sign of work so that you can sleep better.
Eliminate Caffeine – Using caffeine to get up in the morning can have a negative effect on your ability to get to sleep at night, even if you drink caffeine in tea or coke. Try Hot Herbal Tea – A good replacement for coffee is to use hot herbal non-caffeinated teas instead.
Don’t Smoke – Nicotine can be very detrimental to good health in general, but the drug can also ruin the sleep that you’re getting and even prevent you from sleeping as it acts as a stimulant.
Insomnia can lower your immunity; it can increase the chances of a heart attack or other cardiovascular illnesses. After a weekend of unimaginable acts, you may be facing serious questions about the world we live in. So if you wake up one summer morning with sniffles galore and a fever, don’t sweat it.

April 28, 2014 by Jordyn 2 Comments I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community. I have lived in Georgia for 10 years now and I still can’t get over how much pollen is in the air during spring. After the 10th year of suffering and watching my children suffer from the daily pollen blizzard I decided to talk to some holistic healing types and do some research to find out exactly how I can naturally combat allergies.
It’s no secret that probiotics are so good for your digestive health and immune system, but did you know that probiotics can also help you fight seasonal allergies. Not only did they help with our allergies, they also helped me with improved digestion and more energy.
I know the thought of pouring water up your nose isn’t very appealing, but if you are like me, you get to the point where you will try anything to get relief! Whether you are a veteran allergy sufferer or new to the world of springtime sniffles, everybody can benefit from these natural allergy remedies! My whole family suffers from severe allergies and my son had a huge allergy attack last night that was really ugly.

If you have spent the last several weeks indulging (overindulging?) on too much rich food, drink, and sweets, you are not alone!
To avoid bloating — eat natural diuretics, foods with lots of potassium, and avoid sodium. It may seem counter-intuitive to drink water when you’re feeling full and bloated, but it will definitely help! Try to eat three of the following foods everyday to feel lighter in no time: grapes, spinach, parsley, bananas, blueberries, asparagus, celery, cucumbers, pineapple, eggs and cherries. These foods have a lot of water in them, are natural diuretics, and some pack lots of protein! If you’re already feeling bloated, take a shot of water with a couple drops of peppermint essential oil, or rub the oil on your stomach with a carrier oil (learn more about using and ingesting essential oils here).
Since sodium plays such a large role in bloating, you should definitely avoid packaged, salty snacks! Carbonated beverages don’t help either, so steer clear of these snacks for a couple days before your holiday feast! Cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, kale, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage and collard greens) contain naturals sugars that are difficult to digest. If you experience bloating alongside constipation or diarrhea, you could suffer from something more serious and should consult a doctor, but these simple tips should help you avoid general bloating, and enjoy a happier, healthier holiday! Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) affects millions of people every winter — including kids! Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep and get a restful night sleep more than a couple of nights a week. During mediation you will focus on thinking about nothing, or some people use a mantra that they repeat over and over again. Try to eliminate eating a few hours before bedtime and go to bed on an empty but not hungry stomach. For the most part, try to go to bed and rise at the same time each day, even on the weekends.
Purchase bedding that is comfortable and keep the temperature of your room a couple of degrees cooler than you do the rest of the house. You may still want to avoid sugary beverages in the evening, but if you replace caffeine you’ll sleep better. You expect to get sick when the temperature drops, but not when you’re packing up your beach bag and getting ready to go for a swim.
We’ve got the scoop on four medical expert-recommended natural remedies that will help ease your symptoms, or even shorten the duration of your cold. When you do make it past the first couple of meetings and decide that intimacy is part of the game plan it can get a little — ok, a lot — more complicated.
If you have never experienced the wonder that is a southern spring, then let me tell you that you are not missing a darn thing. We picked up InSync Probiotic at our local Walmart Supercenter and I started all the kids and myself on a regimen of daily probiotic care. For more information about InSync Probiotic visit their website and follow them on Twitter & Facebook. The fact is that local bee pollen and honey can work wonders when you are trying to battle allergies. I use a netti pot on the days that the pollen is especially heavy or I have been out doors for along time.
I am definitely guilty of all of the above and now find myself feeling bloated and just plain yucky! Luckily, with some simple tips, you can naturally look and feel your best at holiday events!

Diuretics, like water and protein, help to flush your body of excess fluid, while potassium combats sodium and its negative effects. When sodium enters your body, it collects a bunch of water around it, making you feel puffy and bloated. You might experience fatigue, depression, or withdrawal from others during the long winter months. People who suffer from insomnia often find themselves tired and falling asleep during the daytime when they’re supposed to be at work. Beating insomnia naturally will ensure that you are healthier and happier mentally and physically. But there are certain anatomical traits that you guys share that make certain poses more helpful than others. The air is so heavy with pollen during these times that everything is coated in yellow, it looks like snowfall some days and you can just feel it circulating in your lungs. I started implementing these strategies at the beginning of spring and put them to the test on a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The caveat here is that it must be pure, raw honey that is local to your area, as close as you can get. The truth is that nothing can get those stubborn pollen particles out of your nose like a saline netti pot wash. To help relieve some of the bloating and water retention from all my holiday celebrating, I decided to look into some ways to feel better.
