When complete, inhale and exhale rapidly (2 seconds each for a total of six rounds), then relax. If you cannot retain your breath peacefully + without strain for this amount of time, begin where you can. Communicate with your subconscious mind, your higher self, spirit guides, higher power, etc. Wouldn’t it be great if your subconscious mind could leave you messages the same way someone might leave you a message on voicemail?  How valuable would it be to receive a direct message from your subconscious or higher self?  What if you could not only get a message but have a back-and-forth conversation with your subconscious mind?
You can do this lying down or in a comfortable chair.  I usually do it at night before I go to sleep since I know I won’t be interrupted, and it also helps prepare me for sleep and interesting dreams.
Now that is the setup.  Later you can go back to your room any time and talk to whomever you find there. You can use this method to get clarity on a problem by asking a specific question, then going into your room and seeing your answer on the chalkboard, or dry erase board, or hear it on your spiritual answering machine.  Or you can use this method to have a long talk with your higher self or subconscious mind.
I’ve even gone so far as to lay down on the couch in my “room” and proceed to mentally enter another elevator and go down another 21 floors, then 21 steps, then into another corridor with another room!  Talk about a trip!  You could also try asking the corridor guardian to be taken to someone else’s room (perhaps a spouse or family member) and meet their higher self!  See what happens and what their room looks like to you. In this third installment, we are going to clarify how the subconscious mind can help us achieve our physique goals and learn how we can use meditation to access the gateway into the subconscious mind. In the last part of this series I’ll reveal the techniques by which you may reprogram your subconscious mind for success and completely destroy any limiting beliefs you may have picked up over the years.
First of all, we just learned that the subconscious mind is largely responsible for all of your conditioned behaviors, habits, and personality.

Secondly, and just as importantly, we also learned that the subconscious mind is responsible for handling all of the autonomic functions of the body; like breathing, heart beat, digestion, immune system. 1.What if it was possible to slightly influence your subconscious mind to release more testosterone or growth hormone and to produce less cortisol (a muscle eating hormone)?
3.What if it was possible to use your mind to influence your body to increase hypertrophy and muscle growth or to burn fat or to recover quicker? There have been more than 600 scientific studies, which have been published in over 100 leading scientific journals concerning the IMMENSE BENEFITS of Meditation. Now, I’m not suggesting that all of a sudden you’ll see steroid-like gains if you start meditating. What I’m suggesting is that if you could stimulate your body even in the slightest to keep testosterone and growth hormone levels high, cortisol levels low, and hypertrophy and healing happening within the muscle cells… then baby… you’re doing something amazing!

In other words, you need to be doing everything you “naturally” can just to bring your scrawny butt up to a level playing field with the big boys. If meditating can help make you relax, which can lower your cortisol levels (a muscle eating hormone), reduce free radicals, and improve blood circulation to your muscles and thus supplying more vital nutrients in helping them to grow… why wouldn’t you incorporate that into your training? We’re not even talking about ALL the other scientific benefits of meditation here… or even the mental or spiritual benefits!
The subconscious mind plays a powerful role in the functionality and sustainability of your body. This is how your past can have an influential effect on your present and hence your future as well. It’s a great way to clear the mind from unnecessary thought, and open the gateway into the subconscious mind.
I have harped on the fact that our thoughts create our reality and directly influence our experience of life many times now.  I do so mainly because it is such an important insight to grasp for body and life transformation. Yet, in many cases we may understand the concept intellectually but fail to truly seize the wisdom and application of the notion. Likewise, one may fully understand the concepts of how to gain muscle mass, but if we fail to apply what we know, then there will be no biological change.
Thus, knowing that your thoughts create your reality is of little use to you, unless you take full control of your mind and think the thoughts that will lead you to action and therefore your desires. When what you KNOW and what you DO become congruent with each other, then you will have more than knowledge… you will have WISDOM! It has been estimated that the average person thinks over 60,000 thoughts in a day and a lot of those thoughts are old, repetitive thoughts that they have been thinking for quite some time. How many people do you believe are truly conscious of all of these thoughts that they are thinking?
How many people do you believe have consciously chosen the majority of thoughts that enter their mind?
In fact, the sad reality is that most people are so enslaved by their minds that they think the mind is who they are. Meditation can also be used to access the subconscious and tap into the deeper wisdom that lies beyond the realm of our conscious mind. By making use of meditation and integrating it into our daily routine we can effectively reduce the number of thoughts we are thinking each day by stilling the mind. This then opens us up to a whole new world that is free from the often negative and repetitive thoughts that before cluttered our consciousness and muddled our perception of reality. By eliminating these unnecessary and excessive thought patterns we also improve the efficacy of the other techniques we will utilize for influencing and harnessing the power our subconscious mind. When one is thinking considerably less random, and monotonous thoughts, the thoughts that they have consciously chosen to think will have more of an impact on transforming their reality. Your mind will try everything in its power to distract you, to convince you that this is a waste of time, to lure you back into the unconscious thought patterns that are keeping you trapped and enslaved by it. In most people’s cases it will win, but for the few that continue to push onward… their lives will never be the same.
At first, you may not notice much difference, but after some time and dedication to the discipline (not as long as you think) you will notice a new quality to your consciousness.
You will have greater focus, clarity, peacefulness, and insightfulness arising within your everyday experience. This ability to become fully present is what is referred to as mindfulness in Zen and you will begin to have a deeper understanding of your true nature. We will be using meditation to prepare, relax, and heal the body and the mind from our physical training, as well as, to further develop the proper mindset.
Meditation works well in unison with the other techniques like creative visualization and affirmations. It is important to note though, that meditation is quite effective on its own for body and life transformation.
There are many different techniques on how to meditate and many are effective, however I prefer to use the ancient Zen Buddhist form of meditation. I believe this is the purest form of meditation and is in alignment with the whole point of meditation to begin with, which is to clear the mind of thought while becoming highly alert and aware. Most of the other meditation techniques are simply devices used to help one get to the point of pure meditation. Embracing this stillness and clearing the mind of all thought will help develop a calm, relaxed presence that will benefit you in all aspects of your life. This mindfulness is the power to be intensely present at whatever it is you are doing or whatever situation may arise.
Eventually the goal is to remain in this heightened mind state as you go throughout your day. Many times I will meditate after a good workout, the sweat pouring out of my body as I sit in silent meditation, resting in the moment and triggering the healing process to begin. I open my ears to any sounds, the birds, insects, wind, footsteps, distant cars on the highway, a train passing, and dogs barking.
I don’t listen and go “oh there’s a dog barking”, rather I just listen… I just hear the bark. Meditation is the first technique to harnessing the power of your subconscious mind and priming it for the other techniques to follow.  Put it into practice immediately and you will find that the transformation has begun. Next I will cover six characteristics of the subconscious mind that will allow us to communicate successfully with our subconscious and impress our desires, goals, and intentions upon it more effectively. Knowing the ways in which the subconscious operates will improve the efficacy of the programming methods I will reveal in the final part of this series.

Psychoanalysts have tried to put parameters on what can only be vaguely described, and in one sense, the conscious and subconscious mind are always in interplay together, although you might not be aware of it.
However, while your conscious mind is taking in only the ‘surface’ of surrounding events, your subconscious mind is actually storing away and filing all the rest of the information.
Have you ever lost something important, and even after looking intensively were unable to find it?
Getting rid of them and starting down a positive path is possible when you learn how to reprogram the subconscious mind. They involve ‘getting to know yourself better’ to one degree or another, and they are relatively easy to do. The deep relaxation induced by profound meditation will help to filter out the distractions of the surrounding world and allow you to focus on reprogramming your subconscious. Although you will enter a hypnotic state while relaxed (this relaxation is a one of the steps you will follow during the procedure), you will be giving specific directions to your subconscious while in a trance state. You need not be governed by your fears or anxieties once you have discovered that control of your subconscious is not beyond your reach. After you complete this, you’ll have to wait at least a week to revisit your mind garden before you notice any significant changes. Imagine yourself in a huge grass field, with a patch of dirt in the center and trees bordering the outside of the field. Imagine yourself back at the grass field, in front of the dirt patch where you planted your seeds.
The more you visit your garden and the more time that goes by, the more things change and the deeper your connection is with your subconscious mind. This was my positive signal to my subconscious that I was going to try harder in the future to improve those areas.
This will give you tools to communicate back to your subconscious more powerfully, leaving a stronger effect on your subconscious. They aren’t necessary, but they can make the exercise much more effective and insightful. Do you feel like certain people, places, and things are sucking all the good energy out of you, leaving you feeling like a husk of negative vibes?

While that might be hard for some of us to image doing, I can tell you that you can achieve that in your own mind, anywhere, subconsciously.
A simple way that Ia€™ve found to do it is this: Imagine a ball of light, starting at your feet, traveling upwards, releasing your tensions and relaxing you.
If so, I want you to imagine the thoughts as a snow storm, but that snow storm is starting to condense into a ball, and the space of that storm slowly shrinking and the snowball solidifes. I don’t want to describe A it to you because it may color your safe placesa€™ design. If you can see it as if you were still in the relaxed state, the last few steps have worked.
Once you can see it in your mind, I want you to look at it from a third person perspective.
That link you created between you and the pyre is always connected to you even if you are not mentally in your safe spot.
When you are at a calm point in the next twelve hours or so, sit down and do the relaxation technique. But to make it so you have to mentally project the intent into the mixture as youa€™re making it. This, while difficult to master (it took me years personally to use the space as effectively as I have lately), can and will be an invaluable tool that you will not forget if practiced. Meditation is also being included to prime our subconscious mind for the use and application of our other subconscious reprogramming techniques. It also helps to put you in the proper brain wave frequency (alpha state) that is most conducive to these subconscious programming methods.
When used with the other techniques we will cover in this series I believe that they have a synergistic effect on each other. Whenever I have practiced the martial arts, meditation was always a part of the training and definitely helps you to get in the zone. The idea is simply to experience the moment fully without judging it, labeling it, or otherwise interpreting it in anyway.

They lie awake at night, thoughts pouring through their heads… worries, fears, tasks needing done, anticipation of things to come, you get the idea. So, many people turn to the latest drug they see on television and search for the solution in a pill. When we’re born into this body we were born into an illusion and many of us have not reached the level of consciousness where we see this illusion for what it is.
Even your body will break down and one day dissolve back into the earth from which it came. You are the field of awareness in which these thoughts may transpire, but you are not the thoughts. If you suddenly notice that you’re thinking, immediately stop and return to focusing on your breathing. These represent the times in life when you are able to accomplish things, and you are limited only by the energy you put into what you do. It is during these times that our energy is stuck, and we can’t accomplish our important chores. Meditation helps reveal things in our lives holding us back because of often misguided emotions.
The knowledge of where that thing was was in your subconscious, and the reason you were able to find it so easily is because the information had been passed up to your conscious mind.
With practice, you will be able to reprogram your subconscious mind to contain thoughts and information that are good for you, rather than letting negative and harmful thoughts control your actions. If what I am about to describe doesna€™t work, keep trying the following steps until it does. Eventually, we find ourselves so full of haywire messaging, we forget to don underwear and start putting our spectacles in the fridge. A trauma that affects our mental, physical, and emotional self can be the cause of our hesitation in clearing the way.
Meditation can alter your everyday brainwaves, beta waves, to alpha waves, making your subconscious much more accessible to you, and allowing you to reprogram it as you wish.
For example, I have a nice red chair in front of my garden that I like to sit in after I water my plants. Ita€™s feeding you energy, and after you take a few minutes to feel it entering you, calming and refreshing you. I want you to then imagine that this is a shield that you can coat yourself in, as much or as little as you want. Yesterday, I bought a CD, it is a guided meditation to take you through to meet your spirit guide.
