Historically, Ninjutsu is a general term for a variety of martial skills that share a common characteristics.
These characteristics include the people who nurtured and developed Ninjutsu, the combination of conventional and unconventional fighting methods, and the period when Ninjutsu was most widely used, among other characteristics. Disappearing techniques utilize surprise, technical body maneuverability, and the aid of blinding devices or techniques, to “super humanly disappear. For example, setting off small explosives to create a cloud of smoke, or simply throwing sand at the opponents eyes would provide a warrior the opportunity to hide.
It is common among those who practice ninjutsu these days to think that in medieval Japan the goal was to master all aspects and all the techniques associated with ninjutsu. Ninpo includes the eighteen martial skills (bugei juhappan) for the common bushi (warrior), and another group of eighteen unconventional types of martial skills (ninja juhakkei) for special warfare. Ninpo is a group of related martial traditions that have developed in Japan since the ancient period (before the 12th century), and that have been combined in the modern period under one comprehensive martial system.
Indeed those who were skilled in ninjutsu were proficient in surveillance techniques, but it is a common mistake to view these warriors as professional spies who were groomed since childhood to serve as such. The truth remains, though, that warriors in Japanese history who applied Ninjutsu were not super-human assassins for hire, rather a group of people who were not confined to common concepts and rules and developed a wider, more effective form of fighting skills. What can you do today to challenge your mind and increase its capacity to deal with adversity? One of the best ways to deal with this mind chatter is to start incorporating meditation in your life.
It also helps you deal with stress; this is achieved by reinforcing positive thoughts and by allowing you to focus on the tasks at hand. With some practice, the images that arise from beneath the conscious mind can become interpretable and clear. Imagine walking in a field, in the soft glow of the moonlight on a pleasantly warm summer evening.
As you’re walking you notice many signs of abundance; piles of gold and diamonds are scattered throughout the field. During my volunteering at a local charity I was given the opportunity to partake in a rather unusual practice: guided meditation!
One such activity was guided mediation which Marco Narajos (Project Manager of The MedSchool Project) and I had the privilege to take part in at one of Hospice Hope’s services, the support cafe.
After being left to accustom to this new feeling our guide began to paint an image in our minds, her words lead us to a meadow that was of our own mind’s construction. The meditation then moved on to another relaxing location; a stream again of our own construct (for some it may be a vast river) that was located in my case, in an old wood.
Studies have shown that meditation helps relieve the stresses of patients and can lead to a better psychological outlook for the patient; the experience of Marco and myself seems to second this finding, we both notice that we were in substantially better moods for the rest of the day and that the other who had taken part experienced similar beneficial effects. The question that should be asked therefore is: should the NHS provide the option of guided meditation to patients with life limiting illnesses?
Like all meditation techniques, guided meditation seeks to allow a person to go into a state of full relaxation and inner peace.
Most people who practice guided meditation do so in order to bring about changes in themselves and their state of mind. Guided meditation enables a person to listen to his or her inner voice, which is so easily drowned out in the noise of daily living. In addition, the mental, physical, and spiritual relaxation arrived at often means lower stress levels and undesirable conditions such as anxiety or depression. If you want to try this type of meditation, there are many tapes and CDs in the market to help you. The first step in this meditation session is to find a place where you can have twenty minutes of full privacy and silence.
After five, ten, or fifteen minutes, your guide will gently bring you to the end of your session.

As you pass through a rainbow gateway and get transported into another time, an enchanted place, a higher reality.. This type is usually used for meditating with the purpose of dealing with specific physical or mental issue, so popular guided meditations are, for example: dealing with different kinds of phobias or addictions, pain and stress relief, lowering cholesterol or dealing with Diabetes, and a whole range of manifestation-related meditations meant to enhance manifestation mindset (we also have a separate article dedicated to using meditation for manifesting). Guided meditation combines two powerful mental techniques: meditation and creative visualization, to bring about the change in the way we think about certain things in life. Our brainwaves, electrical activity in our brains which can be measured, are constantly active, even during sleep and there are 4 basic patterns of these waves: Alpha, Beta, Delta and Theta.
Alpha and Theta stages are connected to creativity, visualization, memory and profound learning. The trick is in the way our mind works: it is incapable of making a distinction between a real image and an imagined one, as long as you manage to make the imagined image seem real. In a nutshell, meditation combined with visualizing makes you able to relatively quickly learn new thinking patterns: meditation helps you get in the state in which you learn new things more easily and adopt them on a more profound level, all while relaxing your mind and making you feel calm.
The guidance part is there to help all of us who experience real trouble focusing on something, or sticking to the image we’re using to create a new belief. When someone else guides you through the imagery, they won’t drift, they will stick to depicting the scene and they will do it in a way that will make you feel comfortable, in a surrounding that you know is safe and relaxing. In any case, this is one of the best techniques for achieving a specific purpose, such as deep relaxation, behavior modification, or releasing negative emotions and self-limiting beliefs – if you haven’t yet, be sure to try it! Welcome to Guided Meditation Podcast!  I'm Lita and I'm here to help you relax and find your peaceful center. Sometimes these thoughts can be detrimental to your life and can have devastating effects of your life.
When you clear your mind and reduce all that chatter your ability to focus and concentrate increases. Participating in activities such as yoga or Ninjustu Martial arts can help you in these areas. This can be a helpful way to deal with many health issues and it really doesn’t cost anything! Not only does the practice of meditation give you some “down time” to rest physically and mentally, it also has a very direct effect on your entire nervous system by reducing your body’s production of stress related chemicals like cortisol, and increasing the production of mood enhancing chemicals like serotonin. A point is reached where the subconscious is allowed to take over and insert its own images and symbols. You think to yourself that there is enough for everyone to be wealthy beyond his wildest dreams.
You realize that something amazing is about to happen; this is obviously a place of great prosperity and abundance. With tremendous anticipation and excitement, you push against the doors with all your might. The images you give yourself and your thoughts around them should be centered on the topic – wealth, in this example.
Hospice Hope is an organisation that provides support for people suffering from life limiting illnesses such as cancer, they meet every Friday and provide free therapies and a cup of tea to the people who need it.
As it reached the very tops of our bodies we were cast into a state of almost numbness to the waking world, it felt impossible to lift even a finger and break this almost trancelike state. The meadow in itself seemed very real to all of us as we all forgot about our meditative state and our dream worlds became reality, the only way of describing this experience is to compare it to a very lucid dream. Our guide then offered us the opportunity to lay in the water and allow it to run around us. A similar process to beginning of the session was used; this time it was an unnatural energy rising from our feet, following the words of our guide and filling us fully. Some NHS trusts are already offering resources to allow patients to perform their own guided meditation free of charge, however our guide told us that achieving a true state of relaxation is near-impossible without a guide or years of training. Proper breathing, relaxation, and focus are achieved in the process thereby making it possible for a person to center his or her mental energies on a specific purpose. Some sessions aim to help achieve harmony between mind, body, spirit, and a person’s breath. People who explore guided meditation as an option for whatever reasons they may have need to look at this meditation technique at the onset of their search because it is the simplest. Because of the positive effects of this meditation technique or other forms of meditation, a person is more predisposed to be productive and efficient. There are even free guides available from the internet so finding material is not a problem.

You will find yourself relaxed and energized as you go back to your normal state of consciousness. It is especially good for beginners in meditation, as the narrator guides you through the process, giving you directions on how to relax your mind and body and helping you to focus your thoughts on specific images and feelings. In a normal, everyday mode, our brain and body are exposed to thousands sensations and thoughts that we react to, consciously or unconsciously.
While Beta state is a state of our normal waking consciousness and Delta brain waves are related to deep sleep and unconsciousness, Alpha state is associated with relaxation, focus and wakefulness, and Theta is a brain state of REM sleep (dreams), hypnosis, lucid dreaming, and the barely conscious state just before sleeping and just after waking. Thanks to the meditative part of it, the feeling of peace and calm will pour into your everyday life, and not stay related only to the issue or situation that you’re visualizing. These audios are created to guide and support you, whether its for stress management, insomnia relief or to simply know better that place of inner peace, comfort and upliftment that we can all experience in that place of inner stillness. If you are dealing with any of these issues check with your doctor about the benefits of incorporating meditation. A 20-minute session can help clear your mind and thoughts and leave you feeling refreshed and re-energized. As can repeating motivational quotes or listening and focusing on sounds such as waves crashing against the beach.
To date the results that have been seen from meditating are extremely positive, so it is something that is well worth looking into in more depth.
In the following example, the guided part of the imagery is stopped at the point of walking through the doors.
The pleasant scent of the nearby shrubs and flowers intoxicates you as you deeply inhale the moist air. You notice a light in the distance that appears to grow larger as you continue walking towards it.
As previously stated, leaving the imagery open-ended will allow you the space to find the answers you’re looking for. Many of the volunteers are, or have been nurses of therapists in the past and occasionally special therapies of activities are arranged.
She suggested that we remove our clothes which from a conscious view seems like something thing none of us would do; but within this trance the idea seemed perfect!
Guided meditation also uses visualization to achieve what cannot be realized on an ordinary plane by stimulating areas of the mind that would otherwise remain inactive. Some want to conquer their fears, control pain and anger, recover from some trauma or come out of a depression. A person who meditates is in a better frame of mind to value the good things in his or her life. These CDs will contain instructions to take you through sessions and usually, they will have background music as well. Once you are settled in a comfortable position, your guide will lead you through a series of visualizations designed to relax you and enable you to become still.
More importantly, you will be looking forward to repeating this exercise to open up mind to the possibilities of doing more than you ever thought possible. Meditation helps us to slow them down and to listen to them as if they were happening to someone else – in other words, to be an impartial observer of our own experience.
You realize that it is a temple – a glorious temple made of gold and lit spectacularly by the full moon.
Technology has indeed done a lot to make the practice of guided meditation more easily achievable by people from all lifestyles.
For example, you don’t want to imagine being in your bathing suit while in a snowstorm. When this happens, your guide will be able to assist you in achieving some specific purpose for your meditation. This purpose may be healing or personal empowerment or spiritual development or even the solution to a problem.
