Most of us know that one of the best ways to live a SMART, happy and fulfilled life is to practice gratitude on a regular basis. So for the next thirty days my challenge is to scour the internet to find the very best “gratitude” and thanksgiving posts I can find—giving preference to my blogging friends whenever possible.   Then each week I will share some of the highlights of the posts I’ve come across along with seven to 10 different links for all of you. Remember, these along with mine from last year above should provide plenty of gratitude ideas for the week ahead.

Being grateful takes a lifetime of practice and we constantly need to find resources to keep us on the path of gratitude.
These are some of the things that I am grateful for (in no particular order), the smiles on my two yr old girl’s face, the smiles on my thirty yr old wife’s face, the smiles on my sixty plus yr old parents’ faces, I guess the smiles are probably the top most things in my life that I am most grateful for. I am grateful for a bonus daughter who does my hair and won’t let me pay her, for a husband who supports my writing dreams, for the stable family I grew up in. I’m grateful for blogging, grateful to friends being there during difficult times and grateful for inspiring life lessons from friends who have shared their inspirational life stories with me lately. Being able to express and share my creativity daily whether by writing, photography, doing art work, playing flute and singing.

We live in a society that has conditioned us to believe that when we find happiness we will have a lot to be grateful for. When you shift into practicing being grateful you begin to see things all around you that are blessings that fill you with gratitude. The secret to living a life overflowing with gratitude is to condition you to look for blessings. Before you get out of bed in the morning and before you go to sleep at night make it a practice to say 3 things you are grateful for.
Keep a gratitude journal and make it a point to add things you are grateful for to your journal every day. If you implement a practice of gratitude you will feel a shift in you and others around you.

I am thankful for all the ups and downs in my life… lots of smiles and lots of learnings from them. In my next birth (?) , I do not know what form will I take.I am grateful to experience Pain to know what joy is. Some were in physical pain, others were emotionally distraught, others had financial troubles, some were seeking the liberation of their souls. The posts, the thoughts, the tps and suggestons and the grattude lsts from everybody are so nsprng!
I had a werd day and suddenly readng my own words made me peaceful, t served as a wonderful remnder as to how wonderful my lfe s. You may be thinking, “she has no idea all the things happening in my life” or “she doesn’t know what I am going through.” The reality is that it doesn’t matter whether you are experiencing the best times of your life or the worst times of your life, you have so much in your life right now to be grateful for. Begin and end each day by writing what you are grateful for on a slip of paper and dropping it into your jar. Begin your gratitude practice by sharing what you are grateful for in the comments section. I have been guilty of saying how blessed I am and yet have, by the end of a day, fell into a spell of how other people have what I should have. Clear your head of all negative thoughts, adopt a relaxed pose and allow your body and mind to unwind and be healed.


And hopefully, just like last year, you will be inspired enough to join me and “share the gratitude” in any way that you can.
When I left Vietnam after being there for 10 days, I had a huge long list of things I was grateful for. I am thankful for having some wonderful friends, their laughter, their friendship is like sunshine in our life.
She advised everyone who came to her to adopt an affirmation to be said many times a day, under all conditions. No matter what their distress or what ques­tion they asked her, her response was always the same: “Thank you for every­thing. Interestng that when we focus on grattude, we fnd that we have more and more to be grateful for.
You can choose to go through your life and not feel gratitude for the blessings around you or you can choose to seek out things to be grateful for.
You could feel gratitude that you woke up this morning and you have been given another day of life. Ideally, it would be awesome if I had so many great posts that it would be difficult to choose which ones to highlight. A chance to be published in paperback form… something I dreamed of as a kid but never thought would be possible. I have no complaint whatsoever.” Some people went away disappointed, others grew angry, others tried to argue with her. I’ve found that when we share our grattude wth others, as you have through ths seres, we also ncrease our grattude.
And you can choose to seek things to be grateful for regardless of what is happening in your life.
If you are having a moment that you want to create a feeling of gratitude or you are having a bad day and need a pick me up, you can pull a slip of paper back out of your jar and connect back to feeling gratitude. What I mean s that the person sharng and the person readng (or hearng) wll both experence an enhanced atttude of grattude. She taught me how to make it before she passed (when I was a still a teenager) but my casserole never tastes as good as hers. There are many women in this world that are not blessed with the privilege of learning to read.
Encourage your friends, coworkers, spouses and kids to add their own gratitude slips to the jar. If you really want to spread gratitude create a routine with those around you where you pull out gratitude slips and read them together. You will be amazed at the sacred space of gratitude that gets created when you read the slips together.
