Congratulations to the winners of the Mother’s Day competition sponsored and run by the Co-operative on Goodison Boulevard. A group of Year 6 children did themselves proud at the Hall Cross Hockey Tournament on Wednesday.  They worked and played together as a team and, as always, their behavior was impeccable. SkillsForLife offers empowerment workshops, courses and mentoring in the field of life skills development for youth, working professionals, job aspirants and students. The LIFE 101 programme is for students from Grade 6 through to Grade 12 and is a regular timetabled lesson during the 8-day cycle.  The programme consists of lessons in anger management, time management, substance abuse, sex education and other issues.
Lessons about a variety of different subjects at are introduced and revisited at different levels.
Grades 8 and 9 have lessons on friendship dynamics and conflict resolution and grade ten students learn about healthy eating habits, effective study habits and tips about interviews and job searching.
Grades 11 and 12 Life 101 have lessons on building a university application list, applying to universities, approaching teachers about letters of reference and writing a college essay or personal statement.
