Express GratitudeApril 05, 2013 by admin8 CommentsWhat if I told you there is one small change you could make in your life that would produce tremendous results? Most people do not realize that focusing on what they do not have only causes them to attract never having it. Using your mouth to express gratitude and voice your thankfulness is that one small change that can catapult you from wishing to experiencing your dreams. You have the ability to change the entire direction of your life with that little thing under your nose called your mouth. When you use your mouth to express gratitude for what you already have, you have just turned up the heat that one degree and opened the door for success. When you praise and thank God, you are activating your faith and doing exactly what God’s Word tells you to do. This supernatural event would never have happened had these two men of God not spoken their faith out loud. If you are on the verge of giving up right now, be encouraged that you are close to victory. I want to say thank you so much for all the videos, podcast & articles that I get my hands on everyday!
Je commencais a me decourager car aucun de mes reves ne se realisent et evidemment je me demande si je n’ai pas rate quelque chose.
Certainement la louange a Dieu et rester les yeux fixes sur les reves et non sur les circonstances presentes.
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. How often do you take time to appreciate and express gratitude for things and people in your life?
I started wondering: is it really possible that in all those years after that story took place, I have done nothing else that was equally amazing? Initially gratitude was a focus of religion, and psychologist really started studying it only in about 2000.
That has changed with the emergence of positive psychology (to know more about what positive psychology is, I strongly recommend to you this TED talk by one of the best psychologists ever and a founder of positive psychology, Martin Seligman). We now have a whole area of psychology focused entirely on what makes us happy, and what makes us feel fulfilled.
If you prefer a more scientific approach, there is a whole study dedicated to benefit of expressing gratitude! My model of expressing gratitude consists of 3 level (or steps) and so I call it The Gratitude Triada. The first step in The Gratitude Triada will take about 10 minutes of your time. Every evening, before going to bed, think of all the amazing things that happened to you today.
When the month ends, take your previous journal, in which you wrote everything that you’ve been thankful for in the last month.
When the year ends, take up your second journal, and read all the amazing stuff that have happened to you (or that you made happen) over the last 12 months. Below you can see a graph with 3 points representing you in time: you in the past, you now and you in the future (where your goals are). You have now accomplished a very important step – expressing gratitude for what you have and who you are.
These  are called Small Acts Of Kindness, and they’ve been promoted by organisations and public figures such as Oprah Winfrey (you can check her recommended list of 35 acts of kindness here). When we find fault with and voice our complaints about our lives, we are actually creating an environment to receive more of what we are complaining about. I have tapped into that extra degree, and it has opened up a doorway of blessings, opportunities, favor and joy in my life like never before.

If you will adopt the discipline of voicing gratitude rather than complaints, you will experience greater success in seeing your dreams realized. When they were in prison and began boldly and loudly worshiping God for His faithfulness, proclaiming how awesome and powerful He is, they were still shackled to the wall of a jail cell.
Your words, when spoken, can be a powerful weapon against the enemy or they can doom you to failure. You may be thinking, Terri, I have been worshiping God that I’m free from debt, that my bills are paid and that I have money in the bank, but nothing has changed. My dad says, “The depth of your praise determines the magnitude of your breakthrough.” Being grateful is a habit you must practice regularly. I believe the Lord is showing me more clearly how to receive what I’m believing for !!
If not often enough, than you might be missing out on the enormous benefits gratitude is known to bring. But my story has never changed… I was in my early 20s, and this story was still the ultimate representation of my internal strength. I’ve been practising it for less than 2 years only, but the results are so far AMAZING. We now realise that our health is not only the lack of any mental diseases, but also a state of joy and bliss. Let me share with you my personal system that I’ve found to be working the best for me (I call it The Gratitude Triada).
Soon you’ll start looking forwards to those moments as one of the best ones in your day.
Just like you analyzed your previous month and took the essence of it, in step 3 you do the same for the whole year. And as before, choose the most important ones – the ones that make the whole year unforgettable. Mat’s Appreciation Day) and in this day do all the things you can think of to make his day unforgettable. We read in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]” (AMP).
If you dwell on poverty, never having enough, always missing opportunities, never succeeding, always coming up short, then that is exactly what will come to you. Your life will never change until you begin vocalizing what you believe God intends to do for you and through you. When I think how desperately Satan is trying to stop me from pursuing my dreams and goals, it makes me want to fight back. Here’s what else praising God will do—it solidifies your commitment to fully surrender yourself to God. I know it might be hard and it requires a lot of faith, especially when the natural dictates the opposite of what you believe; but you’ve got to do it.
My dad believes that feeling as if you have no choice but to quit is always an indication that your breakthrough is right around the corner. If you ask me now to tell you a story in which my inner strength overcame any obstacle on the way – I can tell you many.
Because for many many years, psychology was all about understanding what’s wrong with people and how to help them in their illness, rather than about happiness and life purpose.
This makes us overall less stressed and less depressed, more satisfied with our lives and our relationships. That will force you to dig much deeper and train your brain muscle for noticing smaller things.

Raising the temperature of water by merely one degree means the difference between something being extremely hot to something generating enough force to power a massive machine.
When you speak in this manner, it can speak life to yourself and death to his plan of destruction. He’s the one who wants to keep me stagnant and discouraged by trying to wedge a foothold of doubt into my life. Remember, the Bible is full of stories of people bowing down and worshiping God before they got their breakthrough. Right now, when you’re done reading Adventures in Faith, take some time and think of about 10 things for which you are grateful.
Not because I started doing more, but simply because I notice that I’ve been living those stories all along.
It’s been shown that people who express gratitude generally have a higher level of well being. What the practice of expressing gratitude is promoting, it to take a look at the distance between you now and you in the past.
He is waiting for you to put your complete trust in him, especially as it concerns your vision, dreams, and goals. Determine in your heart that no matter how impossible your dreams may look at this very moment, you will hang in there. You can’t treat it like a test run; if you don’t get results immediately, you go back to your old ways. Include things you are enjoying right now and dreams and desires that have not yet come to pass. Before I start, let me just share with you that expressing gratitude daily is known to have the best benefits on us. The gap between you now and your goal is so big, that any excitement you might have initially feel, is now gone.
Matthew 33:6 says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you” (KJV).
Note the Scripture says “all” these things, not some of them or one thing—”all these things” will be yours. When you are done making your list, tell God out loud how thankful you are for His past, present and future provisions and manifestations in your life. Items that really are the milestones for you. Something that, if you read it a few months from now, you will still have a vivid memory of. I want you to understand that as you seek God, as you spend time with Him, and as you worship Him, you are making an investment in your future.
But worshiping God before you see results shows Him that you wholeheartedly believe in the vision He has given you and that you are going to give it everything you’ve got. There is no shame is seeing these small things as something worth expressing gratitude for. The walls began to crumble, the prison doors opened up, the chains fell off of them and they walked out of there free as could be.
Back in time you surely had dreams that scared you and that you had no idea how to achieve. If things like that happened, that’s awesome, but the true art of expressing gratitude is about noticing the small things.
