As you can tell I hate everything about fast food, the idea of getting food within minutes just doesn’t seem right to me. Recently these fast food restaurants have been taking a lot of heat for the quality of the food that they have been serving to their customers. You eat a double cheeseburger from a fast food restaurant, that double cheeseburger in this case would be 500 calories.
When it comes to fast food’s bad effects on energy levels, theirs both short term and long term effects, lets start off by focusing on the short term effects. Now after you consumed that same imaginary double cheeseburger your body will have a use for 100 calories out of that 400. If you’re thinking that you can just burn through that 100 calories and then your body will naturally start burning through that additional 400 fat calories, you are mistaken. Ultimately, it’s a lose-lose situation when it comes to short term energy, once you think you have ate enough to provide adequate energy for your day, you are going to feel bloated and tired. Some people might not even notice how much this effects their energy because they have been eating fast food since they were a toddler.
Lets be honest, who wants to workout or go to work feeling bloated, tired, and having to run to the bathroom every hour?
One of the things which are commonly noticed among people who tend to put on more weight day by day is their tendency to eat more which is due to the faster rate in which they eat. These habits of eating at faster rate is usually traced back to the habits which are started in childhood, it is also astonishing to see the amount of food which is usually eaten within span of six to seven minutes. Too much hunger will tempt anyone to get going with unhealthy food which can be prepared faster than also containing higher calories, stomach usually needs 20 minutes or more of time before it can send signals to the brain that it is already full. Even small amount of food will give feeling of being full for which it is necessary to lessen the pace at which food is eaten also giving time for the body to figure everything out. Divide food into courses:A Instead of filling up the plate with lots of food, it is suggested to divide it into courses which can be started with either salads or veggies which make it the foods that have lower calories among entire meal that has to be followed by main course of meal. Take smaller bites:A If the bit is larger it will ensure that the food is found to finish at faster rate, instead if the bite is taken in smaller quantities it is said to make the meal last for longer time making sure that this will provide sufficient time for brain to register that the stomach is full. Include more fiber:A There is nothing like higher fiber foods or lower fiber foods irrespective of this fiber food in general are known to take lots of time to eat which therefore directly has effect on the slowing down of digestion process. Swallow the bite before going for another one:A People who eat fast often tend to fill up their next bite before gulping down the previous one, all those who are doing this should change it by following the process of chewing and swallowing before loading the next bite. Put down the food between bites:A This is one other habit which will help in slowing down the speed at which food is eaten, which goes as follows. Drink water between bites:A It is suggested to get used to the idea of going with certain sips of water in between the bites which will slow down the pace at which food is consumed also allowing more water into the body. Eating slower is surely said to have positive results in weight loss however it also becomes difficult for people to slow down the pace quite like it is done with other weight loss facilities which needs lots of practices. Eating too much fast food is considered to be a leading cause of obesity, hypertension, and heart disease. Fast food restaurants are popular because they serve tasty convenient foods for a reasonable price. Think that if you eat 220 more calories a day, you will gain one pound of extra fat in your body in two weeks time.
Another type of fat presents in these foods is called trans fat, which is the worst type of fat.
Consumption of trans fat is linked to elevated levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood. Eating too much fast food is bad for your health because they contain more calories, more unhealthy fat, and more salt. I was driving down Route 95 a few weeks ago and pulled over to use the rest room at Mcdonalds on a Saturday morning (there’s a McDonalds conveniently located immediately off almost every exit up and down the full length of Interstate 95).
The parking lot was full, it was standing-room only inside and the lines snaked around into the seating area! You’d think Brad and Angelina were there signing autographs or something. I was shopping in Wal Mart the same week and I almost passed out when I saw (smelled, actually) a Mcdonalds…INSIDE THE WAL MART! Researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public health surveyed 530 adults about their attitudes towards fast foods.
Focus on teaching people how to make healthy eating fast, convenient and easy, because those are the reasons people are choosing fast food in the first place. That said, I’m not going to nag you, scold you ortry to scare you out of eating fast food. I’m going to lead the new charge by showing you just how easy and convenient it is to eat healthy and nutritious food and make it delicious.
This takes 30 minutes, however, if you get a rice cooker and make a giant batch, you can have your rice on standby for instant eats and this will take less than 10 minutes.
I’ll share some more recipes in future newsletters, and will compile my recipe project into a book or ebook one of these days. As long as you don’t eat the whole thing in one sitting and carefully weigh all of the ingredients, you can enjoy a few slices from time to time and not gain weight. In your e-mail that linked to this column, you discussed the growing evidence that fast food is addictive. Hey guys - just read this article about a man who had a bit of a medical episode while eating the infamous Triple Bypass Burger at the Heart Attack Grill restaurant in Las Vegas.

Read more about the incident here, and let it serve as a reminder that fast food joints are seldom good for your heart!
Make Me: Pretty Scrap Fabric TasselsPinned 6 months agoWho said luggage tags have to be boring? At some point, we have all had an emotional trigger that leads to an eating frenzy of not-so-healthy food. If you know your emotions lead you to foods that sabotage your health, you are already one step ahead. 6) Brush your teeth.  This may sound weird but if your teeth are already clean, it may be a deterrent to eating more. This entry was posted in The Basics, Weight loss and tagged healthy eating tips, weight loss tips by admin. Seriously, think about it for a moment, when you order your food it takes a minute or two for you to get it. You have probably noticed the commercials on television for these fast food restaurants talk about the quality of food and how all of it’s fresh, blah, blah, blah. Not all fats are bad for you, unfortunately though, 99% of the fats that are in your favorite fast food options are bad for you.
Now, with this imaginary double cheeseburger let’s pretend that out of its 500 calories, 400 calories would be fat calories.
Obviously your body cannot function properly off of 100 calories, so naturally you’re going to want eat two more imaginary double cheeseburgers, some fries and a medium chocolate shake. After all, during this hypothetical scenario you just ate enough food in one meal to feed an adult male for one day, and only got 500 calories worth of something useful out of it. The 400 is stored while your body begins to use that remaining 100 calories to provide energy for daily tasks. Unfortunately thats not how it works, fat burns significantly slower than glycogen and your natural food stores.
A steady diet of fast food effects your energy levels long term because it makes you gain weight.
I’ll be the first to tell you that you have to force yourself to workout on a daily basis. Truth is they put just as many, if not more preservatives in their vegetables as they do their meat.
I hope you are able to see what makes fast food bad for you, and I encourage you to take a look at my section on fast food nutritional facts so you can see how the numbers add up. For all those who tend to finish their meals much faster than anyone else will need some tips to prevent faster eating and inculcating slower eating habits.
However this is not the only reason to eat food so fast, there are other reasons like the being extremely hungry or even if the food is tasty enough which is said to increase the hunger for more food making people to shovel into the food.
If there is a delay in these 20 minutes lot of food can be eaten during this time which will not help or fasten the process of sending signals to the brain. If there is only certain time to wind up the meal it is suggested to eat maximum portion of the main course while the rest has to be save for snacks which will ease up the pressure of eating all at once. Once the habit of swallowing food is addicted to before getting ready for another bite, then it is suggested to inculcate another habit which is to put down the food before going for another bite or even the utensils if the food is eaten in them. Hence time has to be set aside to have food at leisure instead of fitting it in to about 10 minutes of short time and winding up the food. If you eat that and drink 300 ml of Pepsi, which contain 170 calories, you will have a total of 960 calories. Elevated levels of cholesterol are the main cause of heart attack, stroke and peripheral vascular diseases. It’s faster, easier and cheaper than going to the donut place or getting sausage, cheese, bacon breakfast muffins at the fast food joint!
Plus I’m already publishing all my recipes for my inner circle members one by one as I create them.

For example, I make my own version of a soft flour taco using a wholegrain tortilla, chicken, nonfat cheese, spinach, bell peppers, tomatoes, and salsa.
I used to eat more pepperoni and mushroom pizza than I care to admit and would not want to give it up so now I just make my own version using a wholegrain crust, pizza sauce, nonfat cheese, sliced mushrooms, chicken and broccoli. Everyone just assumes that fast food equals weight gain, gaining weight is bad for you, so that’s it right? So either, the burger that you just ordered has been sitting there for a while, or they cook it extremely fast, just fast enough to be legal and then they serve it to you. What they consider fresh, and what you and I consider fresh is most likely two different things.
No, part of what makes fast food bad for you, is the ammonia that is used as a preservative to keep the food fresh. That same fat that is in the hamburger, french fries, and chicken slows your metabolism down. Now, because the fat in this cheeseburger is not healthy fat, your body stores it, leaving you 100 calories that your body can use.
Pretty soon you’re over 2000 calories in one meal (which is the recommended daily value for an adult male,) you are able to use 500 of those calories, while the remaining 1500 calories are stored for a time that you will probably never use unless you plan on starving yourself in the near future. Once that fat is in your blood stream it will begin to stick to the walls of your arteries and start to clot.
Like I said earlier, 100 calories isn’t enough to do anything, you would be hungry again in 45 minutes if thats all you ate.

Once you burn through that 100 fat calories naturally, you will be hungry again, and the energy that you get from your fat stores is designed to keep you alive in an event where you have no food for an extended period of time (you can thank our ancestors for that,) not to fuel your daily activities. When you’re carrying around extra weight, you get tired easily and your internal organs and muscles have to work significantly more in order to get through daily activites. Grease is merely a big red flag on your food telling you not to eat it because it contains a lot of bad fat. Almost all of the meat has been frozen, ground up, or covered in some sort of preservative. In addition, experts believed that over-consumption of salt is linked to increased risk of developing bowel cancer.
I vomited it up all over the parking lot.to this day, when I think of fast food burgers, I can only think of vomit.
Heck, just pan frying (in a non-stick pan) some ground turkey or shrimp with veggies does NOT take long! Fat, Sugar, and salt are highly addictive and I believe it has more to do with the addictive nature of these foods than it has to do with the flavor or tastiness of them. Now I am 29 and I wont touch the stuff!I think we are not being educated enough on how much we should eat the are many people out there giving misleading data, that no one knows these days,Now I know I now It is me who controls this, I want this fat loss, I want to be 80kg, You have given me the motivation I need to lose by showing me the truth and that has made me try it, to success, and I want it now (I have a passion to get there), I know it wont be quick, that was not what I wanted I just wanted to be thin.Your BFFM program is the first lifestyle eating plan that makes sense.
I weigh all of the ingredients so I have a pretty good idea as to the calorie intake for the meal and then will enjoy two of them at a time.
People say that they eat fast food because it’s fast or cheap, but in reality it is neither.
Fast food joints like McDonalds and BurgerKing pride themselves in how quickly they can get the food to you, so it’s extremely important they get it to you as quickly as possible and move on to the next customer.
The hamburger meat is packaged at a plant, frozen, put on a truck, driven halfway across the country and then distributed to each restaurant in the area. Sure ammonia is in plenty of healthy foods such as apples, but it’s not the same levels that are used to preserve this bad fast food.
Your metabolism is what helps your body digest food properly, so when it’s slowed down you digest food slowly and store fat quickly.
Not only is there hardly anything that your body can use to power you through your workout, but your probably going to feel bloated, tired, and have to use the toilet.
French fries are deep fried and covered in salt, too much salt is bad for your blood pressure and heart. I almost always have lentils and brown rice in the refrigerator, ready to be reheated in the microwave. Why would you want to eat something that tastes like greasy cardboard and chemicals?I put brain dead simple recipes on my blog, and still have friends and family that tell me it’s too hard. For some, the appeal is sheer convenience, and cooking at home and carrying food around is not convenient. I encourage you to take a look at my fast food nutritional facts after reading this to see which fast food choices are extremely bad for you and which choices are just somewhat bad for you. After all, the more customers they serve the more money they make, they don’t exactly care about what they are doing to your health.
An additional problem with the type of fats that are included in those bad fast food options is that your body literally has no immediate use for them, so the fat would be stored. If you manage to survive a heart attack or a stroke, the effects will linger for the rest of your life. Admittedly, the veggies are expensive here, but then there’s the long term outlook on health. Of course in our modern world we are not out chasing a buffalo for dinner or gathering seeds and berries. But many people eat fast food because it’s addictive, and breaking that addiction is very difficult. Once they need it, they go to the freezer pull out the patties, which are usually frozen together; they crack them apart and then cook them. Now if these fast food restaurants are willing to use a preserving agent that is known to cause cancer, what other extremes would they go to?
After your body squeezes every little bit of nutrition out of what it can and the remainder is stored, you will be hungry again. Our food supply is readily available and we have not adapted very well to the excesses that we have in this world.
I have found that increasing my levels of omega-3 fatty acids helps to fight the addiction. There is a new paper in the peer reviewed scientific journal obesity reviews (january issue) 2 articles actually – one about neurobiological overlaps beteween obesity and addiction and another looking at the pros and cons of the validity and usefulness of the concept of food addiction. It is controversial and while there ARE similarities between drug and food addictions and MANY many people feel that food is addictive, the science behind whether food addiction is a valid concept is discussed and debated. The chicken and fish follow the same principle, they are ground up into what looks like a pink slime (it looks similar to strawberry ice cream,) and then they are made into nice little nuggets or patties, breaded, frozen and then sent to the store. I also just read sugar fat salt by michael moss btw and could discuss that as well, along with his NYT article.
