I understand the feeling of not having enough time to do everything you need to do in your home, including the process of decluttering. You can look at the drawer, the room, or the whole house and feel like you'll need to work for days and days to get it cleared out, and you don't have that kind of free time in your schedule! Well, what if I told you you could spend a whole day a month on removing clutter and junk from your home without having to take a vacation day from work or slave all day in your home on your day off or during precious weekend family time?
This challenge is possible because of a secret weapon any organized person knows about, and I'm going to share this simple, yet powerful secret with you right now. I've designed each of these Declutter Your Home Missions to take you 15 minutes or less each day. When you hear this you may be thinking, that's great, but my house is a wreck so it will surely take me longer than 15 minutes each day to accomplish the mission. Below I've got each month of the declutter calendar listed, and you can print out each of the 12 months separately. However, you can get the entire 2016 printable calendar in one file when you sign up for the site's newsletter here!
In addition, I'll share each day's mission through social media too, so you can keep up by joing the Declutter 365 Facebook group or follow along on Instagram (where the official hashtag is #Declutter365). Finally, many people repeatedly asked for even more accountability, so I've also created a Declutter 365 Facebook group where I post, daily, the day's declutter mission, following along directly with the calendar. The advantage of this group is that you can get comraderie and support from others who are also taking the challenge, plus I have the opportunity to expound a bit more on what that day's challenge entails, instead of what little I can say in the small space on the calendar. I know that it can be hard to remember to check something on the web each month for the latest printable declutter calendar, so I am also going to send the printable each month as part of the free email updates and newsletter for the site. Please note that I haven't updated all the pages below yet, so some of these are still the 2015 calendar, but I will update them all to be the correct 2016 calendar before that month actually occurs! I want people to participate in these missions, and to be able to show off what they've accomplished since it feels so good when you get something positive done in your home! If you do even one of the missions, whether while it is running that day or anytime you get around to it, and want to show off your accomplishments I would be happy to publish your pictures, and story about what you did here on the site. Just for this purpose I've created a "Getting Clutter Free In 15 Minutes A Day Hall Of Fame." I'll also be sharing my own daily decluttering progress with you in this section of the site, as I do the missions myself, so you can track my progress (or see my stumbling blocks) toward my own decluttered home.

My first port of call is to pass things on to friends and family if they would find them useful. If the stuff you want to declutter is in good condition and can still be used by someone else, then charity shops are a great place to take it. Aled is growing so fast at the moment that we regularly take his too-small clothes to the local charity shops. I use the gift aid scheme to boost the income that charity shops can generate from selling my unwanted stuff. And while I am taking stuff to donate to charity shops, I always have a look around to see if there are any items I’d like to buy (they could be potential Magpie Monday items!). We also use freecycle to get rid of items that are difficult to pass on to charity shops or people we know. I got a similar email from my chosen charity the other day, after I signed up to Gift Aid my donations when I took the last bag about a month ago and it made me feel very proud. I also like your idea of photographing certain items and then getting rid of the items themselves.
We’ve moved house a couple of times and it certainly makes you aware of how much stuff you’ve got!
Also, my mother-in-law’s house has way too much stuff and that made my husband determined not to let our home get overrun. We moved house recently so we had a clear out then, but I always seem to be at the charity shop with more bags of stuff, I don’t know where it all comes from! Last time we moved house we had to clear out a massive amount of stuff, including 12 boxes of books and some furniture. National Declutter Week is particularly promoting hospice charity shops so, if you’re decluttering this week, please consider donating your saleable unwanted items to your local hospice charity shop.

I can’t even tell you how satisfying it is to have a clean, neat, uncluttered kitchen.
Junk mail, old food, moldy specimens in the refrigerator {ha!} and general clutter all need to go.
There’s nothing worse, especially when you have an extremely small kitchen, than trying to prepare a meal and not having a single bit of free counter space. This past weekend, we put away my stand-up Kitchen Aid Mixer, the microwave, the juicer and the bread machine. I try to clean out our refrigerator on a weekly basis, but I confess that sometimes I overlook growing mold specimens in dark recesses.
Don’t forget to clean out the junk drawer in your kitchen because you might soon need it for more junk!
Instead of spreading the mail all over the kitchen counter and table, buy a basket that you can use for important mail. This step is probably the most difficult for me, but I’m finding that it pays off big time when I stick to it.

I’m a bit of a minimalist and my hubby is a neat freak so between the two of us we keep things looking pretty good.
My husband, with the help of a furniture building friend, made me a spice cabinet with doors to match the kitchen and utility rm cabinets.
I used to decorate a bit more in my Kitchen but since ridding it out clutter I love it more! One thing that has really made a huge difference in the kitchen is getting a set of adonized pots and pans. One tip I found with my mail was to purchase 5 (you can choose however many you’d like) cardboard magazine files. The best way I have found to organize spices is to use a kitchen drawer and lay them side by side. Cleaning out the fridge is no fun but need to be cleaned , otherwise bacteria may settle and of course the smell of the food just linger inside. If you can devote more time, great, but if not do as much of the task as you can in fifteen minutes and be done for the day!

I’m all in favour of this. Why should things gather dust and take up space if someone else could be making use of them? We have also taken a travel cot and a portable highchair, and some baby toys and board books. For example, Oxfam e-mailed me last month to say that my donations over the last couple of years have made an additional ?93 in gift aid (on top of the ?367 that they would have made without gift aid).
But I work full-time and my time outside work is precious, so I don’t want to take the time to photograph items, list them on eBay, and stick them in the post. Having said that, I try to buy less than I donate because I don’t want to have to declutter too often. For example, we have handed a hostess trolley, a pond pump, a chest of drawers and some reusable nappies onto freecyclers. I have kept handwritten letters from friends and sisters, because it is lovely to look back through them.

I cleaned the clutter off about 2 weeks ago, and I am proud to say that it has been kept that way Yea for decluttering!
I do leave my kitchen aid (it is the big size so it does not fit in the cupboard), but I use it nearly daily.
I agree about the counters and trying to do daily things to keep clutter under control- sometimes easier said than done. I used scrapbook paper to make the fronts all pretty and then labeled them: Bills, Checks, Statements, Junk and Misc. That's a whole day of decluttering each month without interfering in the rest of your life! I have also kept some tiny items of clothing from when Aled was a baby – including a cardigan knitted by my mum and a vest with a dalek motif cross-stitched on it by my friend.
The email has made me feel like taking more stuff in this weekend, it’s a good reminder. For example, the local Sue Ryder shop always has a good selection of baby things, so I took the travel cot and portable high chair there. She is known as an accomplished coach and an inspiring facilitator, and spends as much time as she can empowering and supporting women leaders to reach their full potential. I recommend this course, and I’ll be making sure I forward on your details to my colleagues and girlfriends. It was an amazing session with a massive impact that has left our team talking- and better yet thinking! I was over the clutter, the mess, the avalanches when I open the spice cabinet and the lack of countertop space!
Don’t be afraid to rearrange your cabinets to make your time spent in the kitchen more efficient. I bet you also knew that a plastic lazy susan does no good displaying spices when you have more than ten bottles. I love doing this at the end of the day so when I wake up in the morning the kitchen is sparkly and ready to use.
The food cooks so much better in them and they are a breeze to clean…just wash out with a soapy dish cloth and rinse! I have even taken several pairs of virtually unworn shoes to charity shops after I discovered how comfortable my Hotter shoes are!
