Note: If one cannot recite this before the salam, one could recite it after the salam with the hope that Allah Ta’ala accepts it.
Allahumma Malikal Mulk, Tu-til Mulka man tasha-u watanzi’ul Mulka mimman tasha-u, wa tu’izzu man tasha-u, watudhillu mahtasha-u, biyadikal khairu innaka ‘ala kulli shai-in Qadeer. Hafiz al-Haythami (rahimahullah) has classified its narrators as reliable and ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain as good.
In another narration, Rasulullah (sallallahu’alaihi wasallam) is reported to have taught a similar du’a to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (radiyallahu’anhu).
Allahumma innee a’oodhu bika minal hammi wal hazan, wa a’oodhu bika minal ajzi wal kasl, wa a’oodhu bika minal jubni wa bukhl, wa a’oodhu bika min ghalabatid dayn wa qahrir rijal.

Work with MeAs a consultant and cartoonist, I work with organizations and websites to come up with creative ways to help people manage their money and live financially free. Scholarships and grants provide you with free money for school that you never have to pay back.
Other ways to save big money on textbooks include: sharing with classmates, purchasing an older edition of the textbook, buying the e-book version when available, or borrowing from the library. If you go to school locally, you can cut your tuition bill by a considerable margin if you live at home with your parents. On-campus jobs are convenient and some work-study programs use the money you make at your job to pay part of your tuition. A cash-only policy will help you stick to a budget and prevent you from going into credit card debt.
Dave Ramsey, a respected financial advisor, author, and host of the syndicated Dave Ramsey show, suggests an envelope system for budgeting. This system will take you some time to get down pat, but it can help ensure you don’t spend money on frivolous things over the necessities, and it can prevent you from whipping out the credit card to pay for items you can’t afford. Let the Halal things you provide suffice me from haram, and by Your Grace, keep me independent from all besides You.
I seek refuge in You from worries and difficulty, and I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from the dominance of debt and being subjected to man. Earlier this year, I’d set a seemingly ridiculous goal of becoming debt-free by the end of 2013. That’s one less electronic device you have to charge to your credit card and go into debt for! It’s a slick debt management site that organizes your student loans into a single web interface and helps you get on the right path towards paying them off. Check out my 5 strategies I used to pay down almost $35K in student loans in under 4 years. Last fall, I set the goal of paying off a $5,000 in about six months and after making as many extra payments as possible, I was able to do it!
According to the College Board, 60% of students borrow money for college and the average student borrower owes $24,301 in student loans the day they leave school. Get your hands on all class syllabi as soon as you can so that you have plenty of time to comparison shop for your books online. If that is not feasible, it’s often economical to rent a house or apartment with several other students.
If you have taken out student loans, this account will give you a nice cushion to draw from when you have to start paying the loans back.
You’ll have to plan out a budget for the month, and know how much cash you need to get through each week.
You can put yourself ahead of the curve by working hard, saving your money, and not over-borrowing while you are in school. Over 40% of US families spend more than they earn and the average American carries over $8,400 in credit card debt. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will add value to my readers. Once I saw that being debt free was in sight I put off needless expenses, and this morning I finally paid off my credit card. Taking loans is perfectly permissible in Islam, as long as it doesn’t entail riba (usury) and it isn’t for a purpose that is against Islam. And as this day has been approaching, I’ve been getting a lot of messages from readers wishing me congratulations (thank you!!!). It was so empowering to be able to shed a good chunk of my debt and I’m looking ahead to the very-near future when I’ll be completely debt-free too!

Just need to finish my certificate and get an awesome job (well that is what I have been saying for 5 years haha). Even if you’re not a freshman, there are still lots of scholarships and grants available to you.
If you were going to rent your own apartment for $500 a month, but you and one roommate decide to rent an apartment for $1,000 a month, you see no savings.
Consider leaving your car at home and walking, riding a bike, or taking the bus to and from class. Leave any credit or debit cards at home when you’re out and about, and once your cash is spent for the week, it’s spent. After going to school for 7 years, and travelling for over 6.5 months, the expenses and debt piled up. But now that the day’s finally arrived, it was all completely worth all of the struggle and sacrifice. I’ve also got a lot of questions asking me how I paid off my student loans so quickly. How can someone making an average salary out of college  pay back almost $35,000 in debt in less than 4 years? But I did have a few big wins and the strategies I used helped me focus on my goal, save me thousands of dollars, and finally crush my student loans. Gotta love a platform like that – tracking your debt is the first step toward debt freedom! Many students, in addition to student loan debt, rack up credit card debt while in school, as well. If you can stay as debt-free as possible, you’ll be well ahead of your peers in terms of financial stability when you graduate. And for sources of private or local grants and scholarships, visit your local library or take a trip home to your high school and visit your old guidance office. The trick to making a job work for you while you are in school is not to spend everything you make on clothing, electronics, and parties.
If you go to school in a city or town with good public transportation, you’ll probably never need a car. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e.
Small towns might not offer public transportation, but odds are you can get rides from friends to wherever you need to go, or in the case of extremely small towns, you may be able to walk wherever you’re going.
Borrow only what you need to ensure your final balance is as low as possible after four years of college.
But if you can graduate without a crushing IOU hanging over your head, you’ll probably feel a lot more optimistic about your future than the average student. O Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, You give from them whatever You wish and You deprive whomsoever You wish.
