Confidence is knowing what you're good at, the value you provide, and acting in a way that conveys that to others. Confidence is important because if you don't believe in yourself, then you shouldn't feel that other people will either. Dressing well will simply make you look better and make you feel more confident around others. This is another tendency people have, of constantly seeing their lack or what they “could’ve, should’ve or would’ve” done better.

We live in a time when we are constantly bombarded with images, ideas and sound bytes that tell us who we should be, could be and ought to be. You wouldn’t go to the gym to start training your physical muscles the day before a marathon, would you?
You can’t be responsible for how everyone else thinks about how you live your life, so stop worrying about how your family, partner and friends will react to your choices and start getting real about how you feel about your life. Every person, including you, was born with a set of unique gifts, talents and inclinations that they are naturally good at, more so than the average person. There are certain things that people who know me, whether it’s as a personal friend or people who have just come to know me through social media, have started to associate me with. I get text messages, for example, from time to time saying “just heard a Prince song and thought of you.” Those make me smile since, yes, I am admittedly a huge fan.
But the thing I love more than either of these is when someone sends me a motivational or inspirational quote. So when someone emails me with a “just heard this quote and thought you’d like it…” I get pretty stoked.  First of all, the quote is probably going to be something that personally motivates me.


And just as importantly, I’m thrilled that when the person heard it or read it they thought of me. As you can imagine after reading the preamble to this article, this happened to me recently.
Lack of confidence, in our cases, will simply become a self-fulfilling prophesy: if you don’t believe a crowd will respond to you you’ll sound unsure which will only make it more likely that they don’t respond.
So I return to that simple and concise saying over Tom Couglin’s desk and I urge you, dear reader, to live by these words.
If you lack confidence people will generally believe it is because you are actually bad at something. You may think this is included because if you look better, then you will feel more confident. If you are producing yourself to the world in your ideal way then your confidence will soar.
Ohio State University has researched that standing in certain positions—such as with outstretched arms or fists in the air—can increase testosterone levels and help us feel more confident. So achieving peak performance requires you to train your mind to see the good in yourself…and feel prepared.  It is a shift in perspective to start to recognize in yourself that you really are prepared, and able to achieve peak performance. I am thinking that your mind has the ability to cure quite a few illnesses that we suffer without the use of medications etc.
Just like training for a marathon and building physical muscles, to be a successful, happy and confident person you must work out your mental and emotional muscles regularly. It always communicates what is best for you, but you have to be listening, and you have to trust its advice.
When you listen to them by apologizing for who you are, or by discounting your contributions, thoughts and feelings, you squash your self-confidence. I also get phone calls and texts when my beloved Cowboys are losing which doesn’t exactly make me as happy as the Prince messages do. I really enjoy these and I tend to weave them into my everyday conversations and as well as my seminars and articles on a regular basis.
Whether it’s DJing someone’s special event or presenting a seminar to my industry peers, these eight simple words are something I live by. I’ve never really believed the saying that it’s the number one fear for most people (over drowning? It can lead to forgetting all the things we used to do that made us great (and gave us confidence in the first place) and if there’s anything worse than a timid performer it’s a cocky performer who ain’t all that. Take the essential steps in rehearsing what you are going to say as well as previewing the music you are going to play.


Many men look up to other confident men and wish to harness some of that confidence themselves. Also when you look dressed well it is amazing how other's attitudes will change around you. One thing that might interest you, I wear glasses to read now, but one day I was looking at the job I was doing thinking how clearly I was seeing it and how clean my glasses must be, when I realized I wasn’t wearing them, and instantly my vision blurred again! We always know what the best action is to take for ourselves, when we slow down enough to listen to our inner wisdom. They know their truth and are willing to stand in it, even when what they have to say makes others uncomfortable. Have your hard emotions, just have them and move back on up to the penthouse, where the view of your life is much better!
We need to be confident that the next song we are about to play will work.  We need to confident that when we ask a crowd to do something they’ll respond.
We start believing that it’s all about our talent and we can flip the switch on the mic and words of wisdom will suddenly flow.
The only reason that a confident person gets on better in life is due to the fact that they demonstrate what they are better than a self conscious person.
It releases happy hormones which are proven to calm people and make them feel more focused.
Know your truth in all situations and share it with pride and conviction, knowing that your unique voice deserves to be heard just because you’re you.
It also gives you a sense of achievement when you manage to surpass certain goals such as lifting more weight, or running your furthest ever distance. Society has come to accept stress as a normal part of living but what they aren’t realizing is it is caused my their own thoughts. Be committed to trusting yourself, even when it’s scary, and even when others disagree. Start listening for the communication cues of your intuition – through words you hear, images you see, feelings you have, and things you just know. The other great thing about exercise is that it gives you time to reflect on yourself in a positive way. Act based on what your intuition tells you and you will start to trust yourself more, and build more self-confidence in the process.
