Bring along family and friends and join with Common Ground Meditation Center to build partnerships with non-profit community partners for their 4th Annual Music Festival with free admission. Learn about the details of this event on their official website, Common Ground Meditation Center. At this music benefit concert hosted by Common Ground, folks will be invited to acquaint themselves with and donate to a number of local non-profit organizations, whose work directly improves the lives of others. The practice at the retreat property will be based on the Eightfold Path as described  by the Buddha. The Retreat Property Committee, led by the Guiding Teacher, will be responsible for developing and maintaining the community values of mindfulness, non-harming, sustainability, and simplicity at the retreat site. We invite you and the entire Common Ground community to put this exciting event on your calendar and encourage you to invite your friends and family, too! The Festival is an outdoor music concert put on by volunteers from the Common Ground Community. Admission is free! Donations will be accepted to support a few highlighted non-profit organizations that are doing great work to make this world a better place.
Center for Earth, Energy, and Democracy (CEED) is dedicated to ensuring that justice is a fundamental principle guiding strategies for addressing climate change, environmental degradation and long-term sustainability challenges.
Juxtaposition Arts (JXTA) is a youth art education program, teen-staffed design enterprise, and nonprofit community developer whose mission is to develop community by engaging and employing young urban artists in hands-on education initiatives that create pathways to self-sufficiency while actualizing creative power. Doing Good Together (DGT) is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit that encourages families to raise generous, thoughtful, civic-minded children by offering opportunities for them to practice kindness and serve others together.

Project Sweetie Pie is a grassroots movement seeding North Minneapolis for change by creating networks with other organizations and creating a collective vision of environmental justice. If you cannot make it to the event but would like to make a donation, just click on the donate button to support the Music Festival. Common Ground Charlottesville - Charlottesville VA nonprofit wellness center committed to engaging the whole community in healthy living. Common Ground is seeking 2-3 volunteers that can come in once per week to clean our yoga mats. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing?. Ahn Chi offers both Therapeutic Yoga Flow and Therapeutic Restorative classes each week at Common Ground. The Happy Meditation was started by Logan Diaz, an author, workshop trainer and personal growth coach here in Orange County.
Mindfulness meditation is the practice of waking up to the present moment and learning to be open and at ease with the unfolding conditions of life. Please share in the good music, good food, and fun times as we offer something back to our greater local community. Please write to us with suggestions about new books, articles, or sites to include, with announcements of conferences or special events, or with corrections. As  funds become available, we would like to increase the number of beds, bathroom  capacity, and meditation space to accommodate more retreatants and larger community gatherings.

This leadership team will also be responsible for further developing the property in line with this vision and with the funds that are offered in support. Teams are in place to run different aspects of the festival both on the day of and during the weeks before. The process takes about an hour, and most volunteers use our amazing sound system to listen to some music or catch up on podcasts while they work. Outside of Meditation Mondays the group takes trips to local monasteries, plays bocce ball at Ill Fornaio, goes on hikes, has dinner and shares warm conversations.
James Rietveld presents profound evenings of exploration into some of the most significant and fascinating topics in the study of sacred history. His specialties include the History of Christianity in the Early, Medieval, and Byzantine periods and Greco-Roman religions.
Juxtaposition Arts is among the selected organizations that will receive part of the proceeds from this event. Ideally, we will  have one volunteer leader on site most of the time to support on-going practice routines and to keep the place well-maintained.
