Welcome to this breath meditation that has been designed to help introduce you to your breath.First I would like you to find a comfortable place to either lay or sit down. The sun is shining today, the birds are singing, the worms are crawling and the flowers are inching their way out of the moist, nutritious earth.
My brother is tilling up the earth and I am looking forward to the heirloom, organic seeds that will be planted in our garden.
We had our last snow fall a few days ago and I believe we are finished with the snow for the year. There are many crazy things happening in our world and you know that I love waking people up and making them think.
Saturday I did something to my left side – thought it may be related to sciatica since I had been playing whirlpool with my youngest granddaughter in the pool – she’s bigger, I’m older – wasn't the best decision in hindsight.
One last little bit of humor – Ali, my youngest granddaughter, had taken some yoga classes when they lived in Baltimore. I am thankful that The Lord brought our path to you and am thankful for this new found relationship. Please give hugs to Pharaoh and if you see our turtle friend tell him Noelle can't wait to see him again!!
I was moved by our initial introduction last weekend when my wonderful friend Chris brought my daughter Noelle and I to meet you.
Nine years ago, at the young age of 16, I was blessed to meet Christine when she came to my high school to teach yoga. I began visiting Christine for yoga classes when my husband was involved in business in the Middle East and I still had six children at home. To say that Christine's teaching will bring you into a place of union with God, contentment, balance, alignment and joy is the absolute truth. Christine graced my life at a time when I was beginning to discover the real dysfunctions in my life. My life has taken yet another three-quarter turn and Christine is still changing, yet the same, guiding me, keeping me accountable and accepting my imperfect friendship.
I have been a student of Christine’s for several years and her classes have become an integral part of my life. Christine is a woman of deep faith in Jesus Christ and seeks to make the whole of her living a spiritual practice. Christine keeps challenging people just enough so that they can make real progress in her yoga classes but she never pushes them over the line where they just get discouraged and quit. I first went to Christine’s class to cure a low back ache I had developed from riding a horse with a particularly bouncy canter. Yoga has been my saving grace for relaxation and mental and physical health for more than 40 years.
Christine’s yoga practice is unique-unlike any other discipline- it truly nurtures and carves out a refreshed and joyful mind body and soul. I met Christine years ago when I attended a retreat — I had been looking as far away as Canada and Mexico for a yoga retreat and here you were right in my own backyard!
I can’t even tell you what I learned at that retreat, so much of it has become a part of how I approach life, stress, and health. I made several friends who have stayed with me, not the least of whom is Christine herself. Driven more out of curiosity and hopeful inquiry, I attended one of Christine’s yoga retreats with my daughter.
I had expected a focus on Christian principles to be interwoven with lectures, but had never anticipated the power of conscious reflection during the actual practice. To explain the experience is like pondering the imponderable — no level of effort on my part would ever do it justice. I am honored to have Christine as a friend, with whom I have shared many years of deep inner work at Kripalu Center. If these structures were ignored, if they were simply passed by, they may begin to crumble. As I drive to teach or just wander around, these stone structures remind me of the beauty of The Rock, the solid foundation of my life.
When someone builds these walls, they must consider the shape, size, strength and positioning of these individual pieces that will bring about the whole. When we look at our food , medical, water, education and  banking industries, we must wake up. We the people, of these wonderful and blessed United States, want to experience the equality and fairness that was originally promised in our Constitution.
Are you willing to make a breeze that will transform the direction that our flag is flowing? There is a peace that passes all understanding when one invites the mind of Christ into their being.
Inner peace is about a tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than out of fear based on the past.
There is still a curiosity, flexibility, joy and adventure that is happening in the mind of a young human. Here is some information on frankincense:  As you read this, think about how Jesus is reflected in so many aspects of this gift.
Frankincense is tapped from the scraggly but hardy trees by slashing the bark, which is called striping, and allowing the exuded resin to bleed out and harden. There are several species and varieties of frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin. Recent studies have indicated that frankincense tree populations are declining, partly due to over-exploitation. The Greek historian Herodotus was familiar with Frankincense and knew it was harvested from trees in southern Arabia.
Southern Arabia was a major exporter of frankincense in ancient times, with some of it being traded as far as China. Frankincense comes in many types, and its quality is based on color, purity, aroma, age, and shape. Silver and Hojari are generally considered the highest grades of frankincense. Local market information in Oman suggests that the term Hojari encompasses a broad range of high-end frankincense including Silver. Frankincense resin is edible and is used in traditional medicines in Asia for digestion and healthy skin.
I love the aroma, history and significance of Frankincense. Frankincense has been among the most important oils in aromatherapy, ayurvedic medicine, perfumery, and religious ceremony for ages.
Today there are a number of different species of frankincense gums distilled for use in aromatherapy. These pictures show the collectors, the Frankincense tree, the woman stripping the bark of the Frankincense  tree, the next picture is the oozing resin from the tree and then the collection bag with Frankincense.

The last few days we have learned about Epiphany, the Star of Bethlehem, The Magi and Frankincense.
The team that put together Sit Illustrated and the meditation cartoons website is now focusing on… among other things… Music!
We are about to launch on a one month tour (by sailboat) with our freshly-minted 8-piece folk-rock band Solaris. The worlds first and, to our knowledge, only meditation cartoon book: Sit Illustrated is a collection of drawings compiled from the illustrated journals of a small group of spiritual aspirants. Her ability to integrate and enliven yoga, Christ consciousness and deep care for community contribution is a profound gift she shares passionately, selflessly, and profoundly with others.
After my Father died, of lung cancer at home in hospice care, my Mother, who lives at home with me, began to sink into Alzheimer's. As a military wife, I know too simply "to do the next thing." However, participating in her classes two times each week provided not only necessary stretching but a committed time to "just be".
She was authentic, caring, and seriously honest with herself and her difficult situations, which encouraged me to accept myself. She is increasingly willing to be looked upon and interrogated by others about her beliefs, desires and imperfections.
She is sensitive both to the director and students and is a very good resource for how material is landing for the students. As such, she is interested in living and in helping others to cultivate a genuinely holistic spirituality that encompasses all aspects of their lives. In fact, for more than twenty years, I had suffered some lower back pain which had prevented me from lounging in bed on the weekend. I can attest to how many have been touched by her passion for sharing the keys to health, healing and wellness.
I have studied the practice of Yoga, in many places both in the US and abroad over the years.
As a child, I found joy in my life and ran being wild and free with my best friend Ron in Novato, Ca.
Christine’s holistic vision and expectation that everyone can and should make a place for themselves amongst the empty chatter of our busy lives should be available to more people, although the peaceful setting, kind presence, and calculated days certainly were part of the experience. I have seen her grow the last five years, taking the opportunity to learn more and integrating it into a worldview Whether or not I make the time to practice with her, she always has time for a hug, an encouraging smile or an inspiring nugget of news.
I had just begun a practice of therapeutic yoga once a week, so I had some appreciation of many of the basics of yoga. Christine gave me an opportunity to connect pieces of my being that had been broken and scattered for so many years that I had come to believe that that unnatural state was natural. Now that I have all the pieces, I’m looking forward to making new course corrections through a deepening of that first experience. I have assisted Kripalu workshops with Christine and found her personal faith and the energy it generates to be profoundly inspiring. She is a truly gifted teacher who exudes great wisdom while maintaining an authentic approachability and nurturing delivery of her knowledge.
The results, if calculated accurately, lead to generation of numerous tables and charts that only a skilled astrologer can study and derive useful information from.
Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species. Boswellia Sacra trees are considered unusual for their ability to grow in environments so unforgiving that they sometimes grow out of solid rock. Heavily tapped trees produce seeds that germinate at only 16% while seeds of trees that had not been tapped germinate at more than 80%.
He reported that the gum was dangerous to harvest because of venomous snakes that lived in the trees. The Omanis themselves generally consider Silver to be a better grade than Hojari, though most Western connoisseurs think that it should be the other way round.[citation needed] This may be due to climatic conditions with the Hojari smelling best in the relatively cold, damp climate of Europe and North America, whereas Silver may well be more suited to the hot dry conditions of Arabia. Resin value is determined not only by fragrance but also by color and clump size, with lighter color and larger clumps being more highly prized.
Additionally, increased raiding by the nomadic Parthians in the Near East caused the frankincense trade to dry up after A.D.
For internal consumption, it is recommended that frankincense be translucent, with no black or brown impurities.
We will be playing concerts and at churches and gatherings of different faiths around the Salish Sea, in Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver. Her gentle spirit, unwavering belief in redemption and dedication to spiritual health are gifts that she freely gives. Doing yoga with Christine means pushing as hard as you decide, as she makes you aware of safely using your joints, challenging yourself without criticism or comparison and always growing in strength and flexibility. As coincidence would have it, one of my neighbors suggested I come to her yoga class; she said the instructor was really wonderful. Her imparting a wealth of information about bodily systems during yoga provided an understanding that most of us had never heard or sought to understand. We developed a friendship as well as an accountability partnership that has stayed me from utter destruction from addiction, abuse and self-destruction. Unlike other classes that I have attended she has an amazing way of weaving the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of the practice together. Christine brings a dedication to “live” in our bodies both spiritually and physically and has been a terrific inspiration to me now for over five years. The two of us romped around like free birds, catching blue belly lizards, snakes, and yellow garden spiders.
Yoga stretched the body, while Christine filled our minds with information — about energy, Ayurveda, spirit — that I didn’t even know I craved. The last night was a “silent night,” which pointed up to me how much of my time is spent not really listening, but planning how to react to others and anticipating how they react to you!
In fact, it took me no time at all to become addicted to actually breathing again — a practice that had slipped away somewhere in my youth many years ago without my even knowing it. Every time I have had taken a class from or had a conversation with her I absorb something new. The rules of  interpretation  of  these  charts  are  also  based on the  study done by ancient sage-scientists.
The aroma from these tears are more valuable for their presumed healing abilities and are also said to have superior qualities for religious ritual.
The initial means of attachment to the rock is unknown but is accomplished by a bulbous disk-like swelling of the trunk. The most valuable Hojari frankincense locally available in Oman is even more expensive than Somalia’s Maydi frankincense derived fromB.
Frankincense is warm and resinous with the most gentle hint of spice and a pure sweetness unlike anything else.
Indian Frankincense, Boswellia serrata, is very different from the frankincense coming from eastern Africa.

Upon meeting Christine, who knows the art of healing and wellness with her vast knowledge and magical gentle and inspiring yoga practice, did I begin to regain my balance and joy of living once again. Christine offered me a healing weekend retreat as the next step in my journey when I had profound life changes being worked out. I find that when I work with her on a regular basis I feel much more supple, the amount of stress I feel is definitely reduced and I have found over a period of time that some of my health problems have been alleviated. The class has now turned into an intense mental self examination as well as physical exercise. She is inspiring to her students and is constantly adding variety and grace to our Yoga lives. We road down huge hills of cardboard, going so fast and screaming with joy; then, life took us away.
And leave at the end of an hour’s practice to feel calm, released, renewed refreshed and joyous. A gifted yoga teacher, her actions flow from her intention to help others experience their own depth, connection, and resonance with Spirit. I am so thankful for what I have received through Christine's offerings and I would encourage anyone to join with her in any available opportunity for learning and growth.
If you want to understand the shift of God’s throne, you may want to read the books of Samuel in the Hebrew Bible. Normally, such a study takes about  10-15 hours  to complete  and  is  followed by  a decision about appropriate remedial actions that can be taken to enhance the person’s life.
This growth prevents it from being ripped from the rock during violent storms that frequent this region. And frankincense, “Libona” in Hebrew, is mentioned throughout the bible, including the Song of Songs, “Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant”. This sweetness is neither rosy nor like jasmine or neroli, it’s not citrus-like, nor like cedar. But frankincense oil is usually a distillation of resins of multiple species from more than one country of origin.
True, Indian Frankincense will be a small fraction of the cost, but it will also be an entirely different quality. Through her yoga , I grew to understand myself, learned healthy ways to protect and strengthen my body and found peace. Christine has devoted over forty years of her life to learning, understanding, practicing and teaching yoga in a very unique style to address the individual needs of each student. I’m more of a move, move, move person finding it hard to sit still; meditation seemed to always end up with the list-making in the brain. I particularly liked her emphasis on the spiritual and emotional aspects in addition to the physical exercise, I have attended several yoga classes and workshops over the years and I think Christine’s workshop is among the best.
It is and has been truly a privilege to be her student and have her guidance and empathy and dedication to this ancient, amazing practice. One must consult with people who know the system and find out pressure points that will draw people to successful transformation. It’s not surprising that frankincense has been set above all other oils in so many cultures. I have spoken to several distillers who tell me that after harvesting, people bring frankincense tears to the borders between Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya where it is traded. Christine has such a spiritual gift and I am so fortunate to have been able to have her as part of my life. She has helped transform many lives to a healthier, manageable and certainly more joyous accepting and contented way of life. Christine calmly started her session with breathing exercises stressing its importance to the well-being of all the organs in the body.
I can not tell you what a blessing both physically and emotionally my time with her has meant. Christine is a caring, knowledgeable holistic practitioner and I highly recommend her classes and workshops. Give yourself the gift of one class with Christine and you will treat yourself to a new & enhanced way to think breathe and live a better healthier happier life every day. Utilize assets on hand, synergize,  strategize, with focused-balanced minds and bring pressure to those that need to hear the comments. The trees start producing resin when they are about eight to 10 years old.[2] Tapping is done two to three times a year with the final taps producing the best tears due to their higher aromatic terpene, sesquiterpene and diterpene content. Now, at 25, I can see the thread of her influence in my life and am always grateful to her for this life gift. She reads to us from God's word about how we are wonderfully made and how we are treasured by God. Breath, awareness, opening and release are all important tools to letting go of stress that may be held in our tissues. The finest tears go to the highest bidder and there is a lot of competition for this precious commodity. I know that each person who practices Yoga with Christine feels that their lives have reached a new and higher level of wellness, inspiration and joy. Accept yourself where you are, do what you can, and expect no more of yourself for that day – each day is a new one.
Now at 65, under the tutelage of Christine, with her encouragement and wisdom, life is more realized and good than I could ever have expected. The lessons continue to teach long after the weekend and the benefit spreads like ripples on a pond. I watch as tense social situations unfold and resist jumping in, waiting, thinking, listening instead. She always asks before each session if anyone has a particular part of the body needing some special care and then, without our even being aware, she incorporates postures and breathing that will help. Her teachings in yoga, spiritual healing, her faith, values in life and commitment let me know that life could make sense. Christine transformed my life by her soul nurturing energy and she gave me the strength to be proud as a Vietnam Vet, in the face of peer disgrace. I can’t say I love yoga because I still have a hard time with “being still”, but I know I practice every day the coping skills I have learned from Christine over the years. I can breathe myself out of stress many times, I can stretch kinks out, I can hear the cracks and pops that need to be cracked and popped.
