Hugh Prather was the author of 16 books, including Spiritual Notes to Myself, Love and Courage, The Little Book of Letting Go, How to Live in the World and Still Be Happy, and Shining Through. February 10, 2014 4 CommentsIt’s immensely satisfying when an author can dazzle you just as much with her sophomore novel as she did with her debut novel.
I feel like some people who read? The Sound Of Letting Go are not going to like Daisy because they are going to look at the book on it’s surface and see her as selfish.
If you read the back jacket or the official summary, you might think that Kehoe’s book is one of those love triangle books. I bought Guy Finley's The Secret of Letting Go because I wanted to let go of a romantic relationship that had ended, but I discovered a much more powerful (and spiritual) form of 'letting go' - one that could literally transform my life.
Well I'm sure the author does know what he's talking about but trying to plough through this book is heavy going! These bestselling doctors walk you through their ten proven stages to recovery from codependency that results from external circustances. Letting Go: 25 True Stories of Peace, Hope and Surrender is a collection of real-life stories from people who have experienced the life-changing freedom that letting go of a mistake, a bad relationship or an unhealthy attachment brings. Letting go empowers you to live in the present and embrace the beautiful life that has been created just for you. The BridgeMaker Founder Alex Blackwell is the author of Letting Go: 25 True Stories of Peace, Hope and Surrender. I would go with #1 because the balloons in this cover symbolizes the Freedom, Peace and Hope.
Popular Latina singer Thalia has written a children’s book titled “Chupie: The Binky that Returned Home” and says that the story provides children with their first experience of letting go. That obsession however, needed to end “because the pediatrician told me she could develop tooth issues, maybe earaches,” recalled Thalia.
The story of Chupie who needed to go back home to his own mami soothed Thalia’s daughter – who after the story said “ok, take binkie home” – proved to be the ultimate solution to the painful separation process. The book, Thalia’s fourth release and her first entry into the world of children’s books, also represents the larger challenge of motherhood for the 42-year-old.

Thalia – who will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December – says that she intends to write more children’s books. And towards that end, if Thalia can help mothers along the way – “we should have awards, statues, we should be paid because being a mom is not simple” – then she will. And in The Little Book of Letting Go, he offers a simple three-step process for shedding prejudices, preconceptions, and prejudgments and facing each moment with openness and enthusiasm. As a minister and radio talk-show host, he counseled couples, singles, teenagers, and families in crisis. It really perfectly captures what it is like to feel like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
The author, who has a wide experience in psychiatric practice aims to educate its readers on how to release all the things that may hinder yourself from reaching enlightenment.
Humans are susceptible to codependency because of our sinful tendency to use defense mechanisms to fool ourselves. She also has a children’s music album in the works, she told NBC Latino’s Nina Terrero, and shared that motherhood has proved to be the ultimate inspiration for her career. Prather first explains why it is essential to learn to let go and then outlines a 30-day plan for spiritual renewal. Kehoe captures human emotions so perfectly in her latest book, that her growth as a writing actually is palpable. In codependent relationships, deceitful games are played, and important Christian principles are often taken out of context and abused. Again, if you are reading by email, please click here to vote for your favorite book cover. Finally, he offers specific techniques for getting a grip on habitual reactions, the need to control, and the addiction to conflict. To be honest, I was not expecting to root for the relationship and felt myself feeling mistrustful as it unfolded. What I liked about the writing is that Kehoe admits Daisy’s family is upper middle class so they have the means to help Steven when so many others might not have those means. I was in a lot of pain, and I just wanted to get over this relationship as wisely as possible.

God wants us to have healthy relationships with a balance between being dependent and independent. I loved it so much so, that I began talking about it to other people at work and a few have actually asked me to borrow it.
It’s a book that really, really made me think and change my mind several times over the course of reading it. The doctors describe how the most effective means of overcoming codependent relationships is to establish or deepen a relationship with Christ Himself. I say that as someone who also has a special needs sibling, but not nearly on the scale of Steven.
Profound wisdom and 'truth', approached from many different angles that will force you to take a long, hard (and forgiving) look at yourself and who you blame for the troubles you've experienced in your life.If you've read or listened to anything by Guy Finley then you'll know what to expect from this life-changing book.
They describe the causes of codependency, pointing out the factors that perpetuate it, and lead readers through their ten stages of recovery.
What we see in this book is Daisy exploring the waters of sexuality in tandem with her emotional pain.
And if not, then I highly recommend you buy The Secret of Letting Go as it's a great introduction to the teachings of Guy Finley.
Notes:(1) I am not and never will be a fan of gurus per se, but I am a fan of 'Truth' - and Guy shows you a great glimpse of it, in his teachings and self help books, DVDs etc.(2) I've just finished The Essential Laws of Fearless Living by Guy Finley and, again, I found this book to be truly inspirational!Have you read Guy Finley's The Secret of Letting Go? And well, Daisy is someone who is not a sociopath, who feels guilt for her relief and for you know, having unsavory feelings. So, she acts out by dating bad boy Dave, staying out late, and skipping out on her band obligations. Meanwhile, Cal, an Irish exchange student music prodigy, is trying to get Daisy back on the straight and narrow.?The Sound Of Letting Go is an unflinchingly honest book about family, friends, love, and moving forward.
