At the start of each month we take a look at AbeBooks‘ bestselling signed books of the previous month. This month’s list pays tribute to the late Louis Zamperini who passed away on July 2nd at the age of 97. Lois Lowry’s Newbery Medal winner The Giver was published over 20 years ago, but the YA classic has appeared on our bestselling signed books list multiple times since news came out that the book will hit big screens this summer. To Rise Again at a Decent Hour was just long-listed for the 2014 Man Booker Prize, and California is one the summer’s hottest new titles. Quran is the most sacred and Holy book of Islamic religion.  It is written in 114 chapters which are preaching and emphasizing in the belief in God.
With that concept in mind, I thought I’d list my favorite top 10 business books of all time. Business Model Generation: A Handbook for Visionaries, Game Changers, and Challengers (Wiley Desktop Editions) is a gorgeous book. Outliers: The Story of Success is a best seller and perhaps many of you have read it already.
Blue Ocean Strategy: How to Create Uncontested Market Space and Make Competition Irrelevant is a classic.
Alex: Switch is about how to appeal to both sides of the brain (rational and emotional) to achieve results, both personally, in communities, and in organizations. I suppose I missed out on the vote somehow, but what I would love would be to hear a list of texts chosen by those who founded and continue to build on the legacy of Ms.

In all seriousness though, two recommendations from people I respect = going to go download it now. I also especially love the synthesis and integration that The 4 Steps to the Epiphany has with Business Model Generation. To judge by the final picks, issues of work, sex and intersectionality ranked highest among our reader’s feminist concerns. To break ties, we went first by whether books got votes on multiple platforms, then by Goodreads rank. Otherwise, I’m really looking forward to reading some of these, especially some of the ones that I hadn’t heard of before!

The Five Classics also explains about the historic lifestyle, living situations of the great kings and heroes of that period, the fights and wars of those decades, etc. These kinds of things make it easier to relate to, and understand how, every company (even Google) starts small and make unusual and difficult decisions. I think this was to fit more in a shorter span of time, but it made it harder to follow, especially for my husband who was not already familiar with the story.
