Our First Aid at Work Course delivers a minimum of 18 hours of instruction and is conducted over 3 days. This course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies in the work place. The course covers primary and secondary care including a mix of theory and practical tasks. The certificate is valid for 3 years and then you can attend a 2 day re-qualification as long as your certificate is still in date.
All course information and material has been evaluated and assured to meet the new requirements set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This course is designed for people who want to receive our most thorough first aid training and is especially suited for nominated workplace first aiders looking to gain comprehensive, certified HSE approval.
Following changes affecting all first aid training providers, people attending our workplace First Aid courses (the 3-day First Aid at Work, 2-day Requalification and the 1-day Emergency First Aid) are now both trained and assessed by a single instructor whilst the course is progressing and not by using a separate examination at the end.
So whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance, although we may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. We currently have no scheduled open course available, please call our admin team on: 0333-666-0555 for more details. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. If, having assessed first-aid needs, an employer decides to appoint first aiders, the first aiders must have a valid certificate of competence.
Both courses come as a package and will be delivered on consecutive days, full attendance is required on both courses. Emergency First Aid Work (EFAW) is a  Level 2 qualification requiring a refresher after 3 years. On this course you will learn the skills and knowledge to provide your organisation with Emergency First Aid skills that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
This course is an excellent introduction to health and safety in the workplace and will benefit those looking for work and employees, particularly those who may be accepting a health and safety role, such as a safety representative within their organisation.
Learners must be advised that each course requires 6 guided learning hours (GLH) with 1 hour additional for breaks and lunch. Delegates must complete the GLH to gain successful certification, failing this will resulting in only an attendance certificate being issued.
Each course lasts for 2 consecutive days Monday and Tuesday, unless otherwise stated and each day lasts for 7 hours (14 hours total). A total of 14GLH.

The Health & Safety Awareness Course is perfect for delivering the exact amount of safety awareness information to your staff. There is no time for delegates to get bored because the course is delivered at a high tempo and usually completed within 3 hours. This Health & Safety Awareness Course is very cost effective - from as little as £33 per person! The wide scope of online identity fraud has goaded the FBI, FTC, and independent businesses to issue warnings on how to avoid online scams and keep yourself protected. Always question e-mails and opportunities that seem too good to be true, because they almost always are.
Variations of this scam have been around in snail mail form since the 1920s, but they have only become more advanced as technology has grown. This scam is particularly despicable because it victimizes those who have already been victimized. A recent spin has the scammers pretending to be legitimate companies such as Google, Microsoft, or a security company, telling you they’ve remotely caught a virus. Contact the supposed funeral service if the e-mail looks suspicious, to confirm the funeral. Whilst these written elements are straightforward, candidates need a basic command of English. These regulations apply to all workplaces, including those with five or fewer employees, and to the self-employed. For regulatory purposes, successfully completing an EFAW course will enable the candidate to act as a first aider in the workplace. First-aid provision in the workplace covers the arrangements that need to be made to manage injuries suffered at work.
Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 2 (Level 5 in Scotland) qualification which will provide an ideal platform to higher level training or career development.
Learners should be advised that sensible clothing must be worn which is appropriate for each day and be prepared to be involved in physical activities that require lying and kneeling down as well as others. After completing a final assessment successful candidates receive an HSE approved certificate valid for three years. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary.
Throughout the year it’s easy to build up old tablets, powders, lotions and potions for the family, and your pooch is no exception.
Specifically during the summer time, when besides getting bit, dogs get allergies and are allergic to things outside. These people will go to great lengths to con a poor, unsuspecting samaritan into giving up their pertinent information, identity, details, or bank account numbers. The first step on this list is always this: Do not respond to unsolicited e-mail, and do not click on any embedded links within those e-mails.
You would think everyone would know about this scam in 2014, and that nobody would fall for it, but you’d be wrong.

A wealthy Nigerian family or a widowed African woman is trying to get money out of the country. These scams promise to refund and recover money already lost to schemes (such as the Nigerian Wealth scam).
They say they’ll issue refunds if you provide bank information for the direct-deposit reimbursement. Malware crusaders steal the names of legitimate funeral homes, send invitation notices to an unnamed friend or relative’s memorial service, with an attached link to celebrate the friend’s life. How much first-aid provision an employer has to make depends on the circumstances of each workplace. Should you have an emergency on your hands this saves time by allowing you to call the vet for help while attending to your dog.
Trouble is these medications go out of date, and using them when they have expired can be ineffective and plain right down dangerous for your dog. Or maybe they liked the vet but then thought the vet wasn’t that into them and then the whole thing got complicated. However I would check Target, the Container Store or even your local supermarket for something similar.
If your dog gets stung by a bee or bit by fleas you can give your dog Benadryl to help keep inflammation down. The Health & Safety Awareness Course will deliver exactly that and provide your business with legal compliance.
As long as people are falling for these too-good-to-be-true opportunities, the prevalence of these scams will only increase. The scammers create phony recovery programs to restore a victim’s lost money, but first you must pay an up-front fee. The invitation appears authentic at first glance, but the danger is in the attached link, typically downloading malware to your computer rather than redirecting you to a funeral service site.
And ask yourself: Do you have any recent friends who have died who would invite you to such an impersonal service?
So go through your home medical collection and dispose carefully of anything damaged, or out of date. Whatever it is, just get your dog to the vet annually to make sure their vaccinations are up to date. Having a short guide to what your dog eats, where they sleep, how often they exercise, and any important medical info means that practically anyone can step in to care for your pooch when you can’t. You want a few sections so you can separate liquids, sharps etc and a snap lock lid so things won’t tumble out. Our dog had a run in with ants while we were travelling and gas station Benadryl helped stop the swelling. While the Internet and online security become more and more advanced as the years pass, so to do the tactics of these e-scams. Make sure to research a link: A legit, secure URL will redirect to an ‘HTTPS’ address, not just ‘HTTP.’ If you feel that you must open a link, open it manually into your browser, just don’t click any links! But in all seriousness, this cheat sheet means you can get on with sorting yourself out knowing your dog is cared for – allowing to get home to your pooch sooner. Just ask yourself this: How many wealthy Nigerians do you know that need your specific help, and why do they need you?
