The Commitment is a free online resource to help schools support all pupils, including those with SLCN, to communicate to the best of their ability.
Schools can use the Commitment to help with the identification and support of pupils with SLCN, and the site has recently been updated with specific information and guidance about how schools can use it to support them in their work under the 2014 SEND Code of Practice. The Commitment provides a structure for schools to support best practice around speech, language and communication. The Commitment has been developed by The Communication Trust, which is cited in the Code as providing advice, information and training on speech, language and communication.

She is a recipient of CCM’s prestigious Patricia McCollum Scholarship Award for commitment to education of the professional case manager.
She is a Certified Case Manager with experience in critical care and case management, and she specializes in working with individuals who have sustained catastrophic injuries such as spinal cord and brain injury. From acute care to administrative and clinical supervision, data analysis, education, audits, and case management—she’s done it all in a long and successful career, and found time along the way to earn a doctorate degree in education.
As a Case Management Administrative Assistant, Pamela works closely with the case management department manager and helps input case manager notes, create invoices, and generate reports.
During that time she has built a career around credentialing, provider relations, and contracting.
She has extensive background in customer service and displays exemplary performance in accelerating the credentialing process through strong communication skills and follow-through. As a Credentialing Assistant, Scott provides frontline support to all of the credentialing staff. Since joining the credentialing team full time, Lindsey has expanded her office and communication skills, and she has been a great addition to the team. In her current role as Credentialing Assistant, she partners with the rest of our excellent team to provide support in the credentialing process.
As SCM’s business manager, she ensures that the company has the people, tools, and services required to serve the needs of our customers. Primarily, Linda functions as the receptionist and bookkeeper, although her versatility encompasses a greater range of administrative work.

To do so, she inputs notes, arranges transportation, completes authorizations, and schedules appointments. She also splits her time to provide administrative support for the Southern California Chapter of CMSA and to coordinate monthly staff birthday potlucks. She joined SCM Associates in 2000 as a Customer Service Representative and later transitioned to her current role of Credentialing Department Manager.


She has an AA degree in office systems and brings a wealth of administrative support experience to the company. She is a member of the Long Beach Chapter of CAMSS, and in her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and the outdoors.
Sandy is pursuing an RN degree, which gives her additional insights into medical credentialing. Kathy’s outside interests include training fellow childbirth educators and other birth workers through writing and speaking, serving as a professional doula (or labor assistant), and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. As Business Operations Coordinator, Nick assists in providing HR services, computer support, and implementing various policies and procedures. She became a Case Manager in 1983, and developed an interest in catastrophic injuries, which led to certification as a Nurse Life Care Planner in 2005. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, with frequent visits to both Disneyland and various Southern California museums. While away from work, Evie enjoys spending time with her grandkids, scuba diving, and traveling. She is a proud member of both NAMSS and CAMSS, including being a board member for the local Long Beach Chapter of CAMSS.
Her successful career in the business world has been attributed to dedication and working hard for the company.
During her time away from the office, Sandy volunteers at her church and works on her studies. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and watching sports.
In her spare time Linda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking a great meal, or enjoying a book. When I am stressed, I go out, do the things that can make me happy, also play with kids until I feel tired, go home, then have a good rest.
She is a published author and a frequent lecturer who has represented the field of case management on television and in video. Kim attends the CAMSS Annual Education Forum each year as a participant and exhibitor for SCM, as well as a monthly Executive Forum Management Meeting.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time with his daughter, visiting the Santa Monica Pier, or catching an action movie.
She will tell you she loves to work, but we know she also secretly looks forward to her yearly family trip to Hawaii.
