Creating a Synced Place
There are two types of Synced Place and both are created in a similar way.
- Standard Synced Places correspond to folders that can be selected from within Finder, they are usually folders on physically connected hard disks, USB sticks, or other computers on a local network.
- Remote or SSH Synced Places represent locations on remote computers that can be accessed over a network using the ssh protocol.
To create a Synced Place:
- Choose Synced Places > New:
A window should appear asking you to name the synced place. Give it a short, unique, recognisable name:
- Click next to choose how DropSync will access the synced place
- If accessing the synced place via remote login your next step will be create login credentials
- After the synced place is created you should be taken to the browser view. Use the browser view to select root paths for the synced place and add items for syncing
