By isolating a color or at the very least making it the dominating color you create images that are bold and dramatic.
Well saturated colors appear bright and make really colorful images, which is what you want to achieve on most occasions. When you create a colorful photo, look for colors that are next to each other in the scene that contrast.

Cartier-Bresson begin as a painter, giving one an understanding of his natural understanding for composition, etc and apparently enjoyed literature everything from Dostoevsky to Proust informing to one his understanding of philosophy to apply to his work. It just slides through some of his photographs with a voice over of him speaking on technique, individual shots, philosophy, etc. Look at what colors are available and where they are, how much color to include and how to use it.

Key to this is finding objects or scenes that have just one color yet make an effective composition. When shooting in the morning or evening they will look warmer and when the sun is higher they will look cooler. This type of image is very easy on the eye as you will see in a green scene with a strong yellow subject. Friends and fellow photographers and critics are interviewed as they go through his vast portfolio giving insights, stories, and techniques into the great man’s mind. There are many techniques for landscape photos, let us have a look at the most common ones.
After it cuts back to Cartier-Bresson and he does talk about the decisive moment photo, in which he explains it was luck, however luck does matter.
He felt portraits were the most difficult and goes through his vast portraits explaining the story of each one. While he gives great philosophical insight per se, it again has nothing much to do with Cartier-Bresson. Personally, when I think of Cartier-Bresson I never think of his portraits, but this documentary exposes a whole another level of Cartier-Bresson I never knew. Thinking the film will continue a pattern it goes straight into some graphic design studio in which Cartier-Bresson painting are reproduced…digitally.

A strong weapon in the cinematographer’s arsenal is the ability to position the camera in relation to the subject or scenery.Eyelevel AngleAn eyelevel angle is the one in which the camera is placed at the subject’s height, so if the actor is looking at the lens, he wouldn’t have to look up or down.
They often have no dramatic power whatsoever, thus they are ideal for romantic comedies and news casting.    Low AngleLow angles are captured from a camera placed below the actor’s eyes, looking up at them.
The rest of the film is much in the same matter with a relation between photography to film making, using a random director, then it cuts back to Cartier-Bresson speaking on his work with Jean Renoir which was pretty cool.
Low angles make characters look dominant, aggressive, or ominous.High AngleIn a high angle, the camera is above the subject, looking down.
Then he talks about trying to play music when he was a kid then we go to watch a random Cello teacher teaching somebody, as he excitedly talks about Bach. They are also good POVs of an adult looking at a child:Dutch TiltAlso called canted angle, a Dutch tilt has the camera leaning sideways, transforming the horizon into a slope. A Dutch tilt changes horizontal and vertical lines into diagonals and creates a more dynamic composition.
Though rare, canted angles can be employed with great artistic effect to disorient and disturb the viewer.Point-of-View (POV)As the name suggests, point-of-view shots are angles in which the camera incorporates a character’s eyes.
POVs are usually preceded by a close-up of the character’s eyes.Needless to say, cinematographers will choose different angles for different scenes within the same movie depending of the scene goal or purpose. When analyzing the camera angles used in a movie, it is wise to note how different angles are used in each scene.Sometimes different angles will be chosen to emphasize different elements in the screen. The first line of my opening page has clothes that cover the lens, blocking the audience view then it pulls back to show the scene. Help?Reply Gabe Moura says October 9, 2015 at 6:47 am Hi Janet, thank you for your question. It’s always tricky when you want to direct the scene in the screenplay, as is this case.
You may spend days trying to think of the best description for a scene that later on you realize will be completely different.
Now, if you know you really want a scene to be shot a certain way, know that the omission of the camerawork will not diminish your screenplay.
Even if you plant a nice visual in the reader’s mind, the director is likely to change whatever it is you suggest. So it is more important to focus on character and story, with a nice emphasis in writing style and pace. Good luck!EDIT: Also wanted to add that if you include too many references to shot and camerawork, that could indeed diminish your screenplay by hindering the reading flow as these detract from the story.
