The hamburger is a real American classic, and like so many other foods, New York City has managed to put quite a spin on it. Shake Shack in Madison Square Park serves some of the most popular burgers in New York City! Corner Bistro on West 4th Street & Jane Street calls itself ‘the last bohemian bar in West Greenwich Village’, and you’ll know why the minute you step foot into this old-school bar.
JG Melon was established on 74th Street & 3rd Avenue in the Upper East Side by owners Jack O’Neil and George Mourges (hence the JG) in 1972. There are two locations of the well-known chain restaurant Burger Joint in New York City, but the diner on 56th Street & 6th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan is definitely the one to try. Enjoy a dinner of burgers, fries and fried onions with friends at Bill's Bar and Burger in New York City! A relatively new addition to New York City’s burger scene, Bill’s Bar and Burger is quickly making a name for itself. Bareburger started as a concept back in 2002, when Euripedes Pelekanos, owner of the music venue Sputnik in Brooklyn, started serving all-natural organic burgers to his patrons. The lovely Burger & Barrel Wine Pub is headed by chef Josh Capon and has a wonderful atmosphere. To learn more about the bustling neighborhood where you can find Burger & Barrel, check out our Video Tour of SoHo. To prove you are a person (not a spam script), type the security word shown in the picture. Shannon Walsh of Excelsior (brunette) and Madison Larkin (blonde) wade through the water to mingle. Boats connect to form small, temporary communities for the day at Big Island in Lake Minnetonka. For others, the very idea sounds like hell, with boats full of rich-kid bros in Oakleys spraying beer at chicks falling out of their bikini tops, and divorced dads attempting to recapture their youth in flashy speedboats.
Lake Minnetonka is probably our most famous body of water, save for the boring old Mississippi.
So: What if you’re an outsider with a yearning to get out on this famous lake, stranded with no boat of your own and no friend willing to take you along? I grew up with lake culture, spending many hours of my youth on a boat on big Detroit Lake, about 200 miles from Minneapolis.
Our handsome young captain has spent the past six summers driving boats around the lake, so he knew exactly where to take us. We met a girl who had just been to Mexico to get married but returned with no ring or husband in sight. Slightly emboldened by booze, I jumped onto the boat of Chris Brabant of Ramsey and chatted with him and his friend Josh Dallheimer of Maple Grove. Around us, music was blasting, conversations were sparking and dudes were tossing a football from boat to boat.
Everyone I met on Big Island that day was from out of town; I guess the locals stayed home.
Don’t get on a boat with random strangers unless you feel super-comfortable with them.

You’ll find countless burger joints across the Big Apple, from tiny neighborhood bistros to popular chain restaurants with lines out the door. Founded by Danny Meyer in 2004, the popular burger joint started as just one diner in Madison Square Park.
It’s open from 11 am to 11 pm, so if you go early in the morning or late in the evening will minimize your time standing in line. This neighborhood staple has been around for several decades, and is a great place to unwind with a beer and a burger. This neighborhood staple is not at all like a restaurant you would expect in chic Yorkville. This tiny hole in the wall is located inside the Le Parker Meridien hotel, which is somewhat misleading. The spacious restaurant on 11th Street & 6th Avenue in the West Village is never too crowded, making it a great place for both lunch and dinner. They were an instant hit, and the first Bareburger restaurant was opened in Astoria, Queens, in 2009. Located on West Houston Street & Mercer Street in SoHo, it is a great spot for brunch, lunch and dinner alike.
Furthermore, if you’re looking for a nice central place to stay during your visit to the city, check out our New York vacation rental apartments!
Serendipity 3 (or Serendipity III) was founded on 60th Street & 3rd Avenue in the Upper East Side by Stephen Bruce in 1954.
It is submitted subject to errors, omissions, change of price, commission or conditions, or withdrawal without notice. The suburbs of Excelsior, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Orono and Mound ring the shore, and many of their affluent residents build lavish houses on the lake.
Detroit’s sandbar is where the parties happen, but it was nothing like the mythical Big Island. If you’re a single girl who wants to get on a boat, these are the spots where you should be hanging out.
I successfully executed a bikini-top change, and no one batted an eye at the almost-topless girl on the boat. In this article, we’ll take you on a tour of the city to show you some of our favorite places to get a burger. Nowadays, you can find Shake Shack at many locations throughout the city — but the original Shake Shack is still the best place to go to try your first Shake Shack burger. If you go in the evening, there is an excellent nearby rooftop bar, 230 Fifth, where you can get some delicious after-dinner drinks. It proved so popular, however, that creators Andy D’Amico and Simon Oren decided to partner up with Robert Guarino to build an entirely new restaurant around the famed burger.
However, you just have to look for the neon sign in the lobby and step through the curtains to find this cute little burger joint! The variety of burgers on the menu is also fantastic, ranging from a delectable Classic Burger (approx. These apartments also come with fully equipped kitchens, so you’ll be able to try your own hand at cooking a New York City style burger!

The famed restaurant has seen many celebrities pass through its doors, including Marilyn Monroe and Andy Warhol.
Photographs, descriptions and information about the rentals reflect conditions at the time the photographs were taken or the descriptions or information obtained.
When the sun comes out and the lakes thaw, boats are freed from their garage prisons and docked at cabins and marinas. There was no shortage of men who bought us Grape Apes and Bud Light Limes, offered to take us out and handed me their numbers.
With a passel of trusty girlfriends (and one boy!), my brother, and a 22-year-old hired captain named Tyler Theis (of Deephaven by way of Texas), not to mention coolers full of beer and two full bottles of vodka, we hit the water on a sunny, gorgeous Sunday. The two said they come out to the lake any chance they get in summer, specifically to Big Island. We’ll also give tips on what style of burger to try, and where to go to avoid standing in line! For another, the burger bar has a cozy and laidback atmosphere, which makes it a great place to hang with friends for a fun afternoon.
It boasts a smashing 400 seats — so you can be fairly sure you won’t have to stand in line here!
A boy drinking from an almost-empty bottle of vodka was about to throw it in the lake, only to be stopped by his girlfriend. The Corner Bistro is open from 11.30 am to 4 am during the week, and 12 am on the weekends. Besides the famous burger, which is made with fresh ground chuck, the chic burger bistro also offers tasty dishes such as sushi. Lake Minnetonka comes with its own special lore; remember when that handful of Vikings got in big trouble for allegedly doing naughty stuff on a houseboat in 2005? We hooked our boat up to theirs and before I knew it, there was a chain of several boats all tied together — making it easy to hop from boat to boat. Despite its long hours, it’s not uncommon to encounter a small line, so again we would advise avoiding regular lunch and dinner hours.
There are several locations of Five Napkin Burger in New York City, but the original Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is the place to go for a lovely local restaurant experience. BLT Burger also offers spiked milkshakes, which is definitely something to try if you’ve never had them before!
You’ll find the second location of Burger Joint at 8th Street & MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village.
The service at Rockefeller is very attentive and this is also a great family restaurant to take the kids. With a place this popular, it’s no surprise that there are often long lines, so try to go in between rush hour to beat the crowds.
