I'm so excited to announce that my first book, THE I HEART NAPTIME COOKBOOK: 100 easy and delicious recipes to make than less than an hour is now available for PRE-SALE! Hi, I’m Jamielyn!Welcome to my blog.I Heart Naptime is a food and lifestyle blog sharing easy and delicious recipes, tips, crafts and entertaining ideas to help families create unforgettable moments. When I opened the package and looked at the book, my first impression was that there is lot of content in the book. The chapters in this book range from basics of photography to natural light photography and artificial light photography.
I flipped the pages and I was pleasantly surprised to see the quantity of images included in this book. For an instructional book on food photography, it is imperative to have stunning food photos. From food photography books that are currently available in the market, there is no doubt in my mind that Plate to Pixel book is a must-have.
Thank you Helene, for sharing so much of your knowledge with us and for creating a resources that is a must-have book. I am just getting started in food photography — as a hobby, not a profession (though it would be nice to progress to that). I ordered this book from amazon last week and waiting for the book to arrive and I am so happy after reading this review that i have made a correct choice. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. After I originally left a comment I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the exact same comment. The very next time I read a blog, Hopefully it won’t disappoint me as much as this one. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate.
Take Better Food Photos in 30 DaysWe are reopening 30 Days to Better Food Photos Course soon.
If you are shooting food commercially, there will be a professional chef and a food stylist, who will take care of plating and styling.
Had a wonderful interview with Matt Wright on Sunday Apr 25 (update: this food photography interview is published) and am planning to do more interviews on Food Photography and Food Plating and Styling. Hi greats tips, I am a professional food stylist, and even I need reminding sometimes of the basics.
I really enjoy looking at dishes on glossy magazine pages and just learned some “practices” on photographing food recently. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my own experience and views online.
When I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment. Malaysia is a melting pot of different cultures, different ethnic backgrounds and inevitably, this brings out an eclectic mix of cuisines, rated as one of the best in the world. I am not surprised if most Malaysians do not know how to make Murtabak from scratch, but I will certainly be surprised if a Keralite can’t do a keema paratha! For Malabar paratha, there is a art to tossing and spinning the dough until it becomes a really thin layer.
Note: Submitting this recipe to Malaysian Muhibbah Monday, hosted by Sharon from testwithskewer and Suresh from 3hungrytummies.

Umm, as someone completely outside of the situations… the things you pointed out that your friend said this weekend don’t really read as personal attacks, just questions and banter? As isolated remarks, I don’t see too much maliciousness in any of the comments but if they were all in the space of a few hours then I guess it could feel personal.
I like the others dont think there is much too it, but again I cant judge the tone of voice.

Some of it appears to me to be just general chit chat ( about the work on the house, a friendly warning that skips are not suppose to be put in the road without council permission, ) maybe she is a tad jealous as she would like some work done on hers and cant afford to. I think the second Christmas is a nice idea, we do it every year with the grandchildren, they get their pressies from our family on Boxing Day when we get to spend quality time with them, I think that is a lovely idea. I would suggest spending slightly less time in each others pockets for a few weeks and see how it goes. I loved adding all of the embellishments, using fancy scissors on the patterned papers, being over run with ridiculous amount of ribbon and adhesives, and having a lasting document to chronical what I valued as our most important family moments. This book, on food photography is written by Helene Dujardin, a pastry chef turned food blogger.
Looking at the table of content, Helene packaged a lot of information in this 288-page book. It seems like she was talking to the reader directly, as if the reader was in a workshop with her and she was personally teaching food photography to each reader individually. It is like holding Helene’s portfolio in your hand and as if she is explaining you how she took that photo. If there was only one food photography book that I had to recommend my friend, it would be this one. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter.
It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. You realize so much its almost tough to argue with you (not that I actually will need to…HaHa). You realize a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually would want to…HaHa). Finding the time and actual effort to produce a good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and never manage to get anything done.
I checked on the web to learn more about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this site. You understand so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need to…HaHa).
I mean, I know it was my choice to read through, however I truly thought you would probably have something helpful to talk about.
If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, however I actually believed you’d have something useful to talk about. A great photographer may take great landscapes and jaw dropping wildlife photographs, but if the food is not plated well, there are very limited things a photographer can do. However, if you aspire to become a food stylist or are a food blogger who does her own food styling and food plating, this post will help you to understand some basics of plating and styling.
You are absolutely right, stacking and giving height to food can be visually interesting :)I stick toothpicks into stacks where ever possible to hold them up. Nice tips in this post.A simple garnish can make the food visually attractive and make it come alive! I think , as long as you don’t overdo it, it adds something interesting to a plate, making it very appealing. I simply want to offer you a huge thumbs up for your great information you have right here on this post.
After all, I know it was my choice to read through, but I actually believed you’d have something useful to say. I simply would like to give you a huge thumbs up for the excellent information you have got right here on this post. Better than restaurant, and certainly more varied and spiced than what most Malaysians knew.
Just like I cannot live without my Scottish oats porridge in the morning and scones for tea, I still yearn for some Mamak food ever so often that I usually would follow my heart’s desire and cook it fresh at home. Also, the Malabar paratha (porottha) is way different than a North Indian paratha, though both version taste just as delicious. Murtabak is simply upgraded from the plain paratha by filling it with spiced minced meats and fold the sides into an envelope. As the meat will produce some water, simmer on low heat until the meat is well cooked and almost dry. Using oiled hands, stretch the dough, toss and spin on air (this takes a bit of expertise but do-able) until it becomes a circle and as thin as a tissue paper.
Perhaps they leave you surprised with the odd put-down, or you just wonder if you have anything in common any more.

We seemed to hit it off right away, from that very first class really when we discovered we had once unknowingly studied in the same place.
We shared a similar background, were from the same area and seemed to enjoy the same stuff. Your husband and my partner got along really well too, even to the point of spending time together on their own with the children.
But just this weekend we spent a whole day together without children which was meant to be relaxing but left me in floods of tears. Our community of more than 7,500 parent bloggers have a combined monthly audience of more than 10m readers, writing about everything from parenting to politics, food and fashion.
As an outsider, it sounds as though you could be spending way too much time together and the old thing of beginning to treat one another like siblings, has come in.
At the same time, the more food photos there are in a book that are used as an example, the better the learning and understanding for readers. If you just did that, and read specifics like how the light is placed, where the props are, how the scene is composed, you will learn a lot. All I hear is a bunch of crying about something you can fix if you were not too busy looking for attention. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something that you could fix if you were not too busy searching for attention.
Understanding what makes a dish look appealing is not only crucial for a photographer but, in my opinion, mandatory.
If you have been cooking for a while and have tried to plate or style on your own, I am sure you understand that this is no easy task. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something that you could fix if you weren’t too busy looking for attention.
Alas, not many Malaysians even know the origin of Mamak, which found its heritage in Malabar, amongst the Malabaris who made their voyages within the Far East and rooted a big settlement in Malaysia. First time when I cooked Malabari food and presented to my husband, he was shocked to find out that the so-called Mamak dishes are stuff that he finds in Kerala! Murtabak as I knew it, or Keema Paratha as The Husband is accustomed to it, is one of Malabar dishes that we both savour with delight.
They are tasty and very filling on its own or could also be served with yogurt or dhal curry. We were going to get one once but found out we needed planning permission so decided to put it on the drive so as not to cause the neighbours any inconvenience”. Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are. As simple as it may seem, put food on plate and adding some supporting elements to the dish to make it look beautiful, is very challenging. Beat an egg (optional) and spread the egg on the dough before putting the meat filling on the centre of the circle.
This blog chronicles my journey in life, celebrating whole real foods for my family and snippets of my passion in food photography. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. We have listed 9 professional food styling tips previously, let’s talk about few more things in a bit detail. Now, this stuff may be a simple cookies or something complicated to stack like avocado salad. In a bowl, mix the turmeric, coriander powder, paprika and cumin with few tablespoons of water to form a paste. Add the garam masala and chopped coriander leaves just few minutes before turning the hob off.
Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose. Depending on what you would like to stack, there are various tools of trade available in the market. There is one example of how diverse the countries might have been, but what is famously known as Murtabak in Malaysia is actually known as Keema Paratha in Kerala, (or erachi porotta) a fact that I only discovered last week! Alternatively, you can confront her but I imagine that this would pose a big threat to your friendship.
