With mountain ranges, national forests, rocky coasts and high desert, Oregon offers all kinds of wilderness for hiking.
With our hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, camping facilities, RV parks and vacation rentals, you’ll find the best of lodging in Oregon .
Oregon’s got hot high desert country to the east, balmy coast to the west, and mountains, rivers and forests in between. See the remains of the 1906 shipwreck Peter Iredale on the beach at Fort Stevens State Park in Astoria. In the Oregon Coast’s first beach resort town, a walk down Seaside’s Promenade is one of the Coast’s most unique experiences. On a clear day at Ecola State Park, you'll look out over endless ocean along with Crescent Beach, Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock and Cape Falcon.
One of the great side trips off Coast Highway US 101 between Tillamook and Pacific City leads visitors to stunning views at Cape Meares, Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda. A pretty lighthouse, near shore rocks that offer habitat and viewing of seabirds and marine life and a spectacular tide pool area are among the attractions at Yaquina Head. Spend a few minutes at the dramatic wayside viewpoints or spend a day or a week hiking the dramatic stretch of coast through rainforest and along rocky coastline at Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. Between Florence and North Bend, the Oregon Dunes dominate the coastal landscape for more than 40 miles. A don’t-miss side trip off the Coast Highway southwest of Coos Bay leads to three spectacular State Parks on Cape Arago: Sunset Bay, Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks. The Coquille Point and Face Rock viewpoints are not to be missed on Bandon's Beach Loop Drive.
You can spend a day or a lifetime enjoying the views and trails you'll find along the Samuel H. As the Travel Oregon Ask Oregon expert for the Coast, one of the most frequent questions I’m asked is “what are the things I shouldn’t miss on my trip to the Oregon Coast?” While the answer often depends on your interests, the experience that you are looking for and how long you have to explore, I’ve boiled my list down to the top ten must-see attractions for visitors traveling the length of Oregon’s coastline. If it’s a clear day, drive straight to the Astoria Column that crowns the town for panoramic views of the entire region. It’s the Oregon Coast’s first beach resort town and a walk down Seaside’s Broadway is one of the Coast’s most unique experiences, passing shops, restaurants and family attractions including a large arcade, old-fashioned carousel, bumper cars and indoor miniature golf. A pretty lighthouse, near shore rocks that offer habitat and viewing of seabirds and marine life and a spectacular tide pool area are among the attractions here. Spend a few minutes at the dramatic wayside viewpoints or spend a day or a week hiking this dramatic stretch of coast through rainforest and along rocky coastline with attractions like Spouting Horn, Devil’s Churn, Cook’s Chasm and Thor’s Well). Between Florence and North Bend, the Oregon Dunes dominate the coastal landscape for over 40 miles. Another don’t-miss side trip off the Coast Highway southwest of Coos Bay leads to three spectacular State Parks on Cape Arago: Sunset Bay, Shore Acres and Cape Arago State Parks.
With its numerous rocky spires and offshore rock formations, the beach at Bandon is one of the most beautiful stretches of beach adjacent to any Oregon Coast town. This 12-mile stretch of coast offers easy stops at stunning scenic viewpoints, access to beaches and tide pool areas and hiking trails including one of the most beautiful stretches of the Oregon Coast Trail. Welcome to Curry County, home to small salt-of-the-earth communities built to showcase and protect the natural resources they have to offer.
20 please as my Kiwi pal and me will be cruising in our rented convertible to wine, dine, play and peruse for an extended period of time and ten is not enough. Feel free to submit specific questions about what kind of food and adventures you are interested in through the Ask Oregon link on the Travel Oregon website. Kelly, I don’t know of a comprehensive list of wheelchair friendly locations along the Oregon Coast, but it would be a long list.
Thank you for your information my wife and I are planning a trip of a lifetime down the coast from Vancouver to San Francisco in August we can hardly wait. Cathy: If you have the option of which direction you tour the Oregon Coast, I suggest north to south since most of the parks and attractions are west of Highway 101 making easy right turns off and back on the highway, rather than crossing a lane of traffic off and on. Ita€™s officially that dreary time of the year that you spend too much time looking up summer travel destinations, right?Well, look no further than this list to plan your ultimate summer trip with your best friends! You may be looking for a quick weekend getaway or maybe a tropical getaway. No matter what youa€™re looking for, you may find a few summer travel destinations to add to your list this summer!1. India’s smallest state Goa is located on the western coast of the country, adjoining the Arabian Sea.

Panjim is the third largest city in the state of Goa situated on the bank of the Mandovi river . Whether you're a lover of outdoor activities, sports history or just appreciate beautiful scenery, odds are you'll adore northern New York's Adirondacks region. The best time to visit the Adirondacks is from May to August, when the weather is warm and the top sites are open for longer hours. With accommodations to fit every taste and style, we’ll help you locate your ideal home away from home. Even though I visit many of these places regularly, I am still amazed at the beauty and history these locations offer which can be different with every season and every visit. Next, a visit to the Columbia River Maritime Museum reveals the story of the Northwest’s seagoing history in an engaging way and offers a scenic viewpoint to observe the river. At the beach is the historic automobile turnaround and oceanfront promenade, among the Coast’s most famous landmarks dating from the 1920s. On a clear day you look out over endless ocean along with Crescent Beach, Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock and Cape Falcon nearly 15 miles to the south. The easiest access for general sightseeing is through day use areas at Jessie M Honeyman Memorial State Park and the Oregon Dunes Overlook just south of Florence. Enjoy stunning cliff side viewpoints, easy walking paths, seal and sea lion viewing at Simpson Reef and views of the Cape Arago Lighthouse. Gary is a native Oregonian whose earliest memories include working on his grandfather’s fishing boat on the Oregon Coast.
You may find that construction projects, traffic, or other events may cause road conditions to differ from the map results. It’s a three-part series with top stops on the North, Central and South Oregon Coast.
I choose these locations not only because they are all spectacular, but for their accessibility.
101, we think that 5 days was going to be enough, but after reading this, I think we need more days, to many things to see. I recommend a minimum of 7-9 days if you want to do the entire coast and not be frustrated that you missed some of the most amazing places. Boardman State Scenic Corridor is one of the most scenic stretches of the Oregon Coast with good opportunities for both easy sightseeing viewpoints or hiking to spectacular locations. We will be spending a few days in San Francisco, then driving up the coast and ending up in Portland (plus a side trip to Bend). Road TripIf youa€™re looking to get away with your girlfriends but dona€™t want to break the bank, a road trip is probably one of the best summer travel destinations for you!Whether youa€™re exploring closer to home, or want to trip across the country, road trips are a perfect way to save money and explore.Youa€™ll be amazed what you can find so close to home! Water Sports include parasailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, bump rides, banana rides, catamaran sailing and wind surfing. Situated about 290 miles north of New York City, 250 miles northwest of Boston and 110 miles south of Montreal, the Adirondacks offer a welcome break from the area's bustling metropolises. But the region can get crowded this time of year, so you should book your accommodations at least three months in advance. Having a set of wheels enables you to experience the region's gorgeous scenery at your own pace. The region is such a popular destination for sea cows that these sanctuaries are off limits to humans from November 15th through March 31st. You’ve got a lot of ground to cover, and we are here to help you figure out how to get around. I’m starting this virtual tour in Astoria on the North Oregon Coast and working my way southward.
Just south of Astoria is Lewis and Clark’s Fort Clatsop, where it is easy to picture yourself back in time over 200 years ago when America’s most famous explorers spent the winter here. Hikers can venture into dune country away from ATV traffic at the John Dellenback Dunes Trail near Eel Lake Campground south of Reedsport.
Hiking trails connect the three parks and the end of the cape offers access to a beautiful intertidal area. Which means I have left off amazing areas like Devil’s Punchbowl at Otter Rock, Seal Rock, the Cape Blanco Lighthouse, Humbug Mountain and Harris Beach State Park in Brookings.
Now living in Cannon Beach, Gary is an extensively published photographer and writer focusing on the Oregon Coast and the Northwest's food and wine culture.

There are wheelchair accessible locations within each of the top ten must-see attractions on my list if that helps. In many places, dogs are tolerated off-leash on beaches if they are under voice control and don’t harass wildlife.
If you want to do any serious hiking or other recreation, you may need to add even more… or come back again. Taking a drive down this year I was unable to locate this interesting site to re-explore it. It’s been hard to narrow down where to stop along the CA and OR coast because there are so many choices! For those seeking scenic beauty, I often suggest the towns of Cannon Beach, Yachats and Bandon as base towns that offer easy day trips to many top attractions.
Goa is part of a larger cultural region known as Konkan.Northern Goa is populated and urban. The peak tourist season is during Christmas and New Year.  The May month is a distinguished time among visitors.
After the year 1960 city name  was changed from Panjim to Panaji .The city is the World Heritage Site for its old churches and cathedrals. November to April is the best time to experience the winter sports season in full swing, but be prepared for single-digit temperatures. Walk through the full size re-creation of the explorer’s fort and you’ll see their charts laid out on the candlelit desk and smell the smoke from the fires that kept the chill off during the dank, dark and wet winter or 1806. Cape Kiwanda offers tide pools at its base, but scale the giant sand dune for views of the dramatic sculpted sandstone cliff sides to the north. Boardman State Scenic Corridor include (north to south) the Arch Rock Viewpoint, Natural Bridges Cove Viewpoint, Whaleshead Beach State Park, House Rock Viewpoint, Cape Ferrelo Viewpoint and Lone Ranch State Park. Most State Parks hiking trails allow dogs on leashes (off leash on hiking trails can be dangerous due to abrupt cliffsides). You may need to include Newport and Gold Beach in your itinerary to thoroughly explore the many attractions on the central and south Oregon Coast regions.
The shoulder months of September and October are generally less crowded, but businesses in smaller hamlets (like Paul Smiths) will be closing up shop for the winter season. That said, hopping on the Amtrak from New York City's Penn Station to Lake Placid is an excellent alternative if you don't plan on bringing a vehicle. Before you continue your journey south, head due west to see the remains of the 1906 shipwreck Peter Iredale on the beach at Fort Stevens State Park.
There are some limitations, so you should confirm regulations for the area you are visiting.
Varied cuisines, entertainment, wide accommodation options, amazing shopping experience are some activities. These activities  makes  small  town of Calangute in Goa a tour-able one.
The nearest one to the capital being about 3 km to the western part of Panjim. The best time to visit Panaji is from late October to early April. Another option: flying into Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) in Saranac Lake or Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG) and renting a car from there. Dogs are not allowed off leash near protected Marine Garden areas or adjacent to some National Wildlife Refuges where nesting seabirds can be disturbed. Either way, plan to get behind the wheel if you're looking to visit a variety of areas and attractions. There are a few other places with restrictions on dogs, such as Shore Acres State Park near Coos Bay, but responsible dog owners will find abundant options.
If you would rather get the lay of the land by water, you'll find boating is a popular means of getting around specific regions.
Travellers can also engage in various recreational activities , including yachting, fishing and water-skiing.
The Baga beach is also famous for its nightlife, shopping, food joints and various water and beach activities.
