Today’s wedding inspiration is a fabulously romantic and urban bridal inspiration that is perfect and possible for a Washington DC area wedding. Yesterday, we shared with you the over-the-top tabletop version for a couple who wants to dream big and whose wedding budget might be a little on the larger side. From Bella Notte: The moderate budget wedding reception table has many of the same details as the luxe table – a garland runner and gold accents. Instead of a double width garland woven with flowers for the reception table, there is a single width of garland accented with a handful of small arrangements of orchid and amethyst florals in gold vases. One of our favorite things about these two tabletop designs is that elements from the two looks are interchangeable, so if you love one or two particular elements of the luxe look you can incorporate those into the moderate budget look, working to create a design that works within your wedding budget.
It’s the ideal blend of romantic garden inspiration and clean, modern touches that gives a couple the same industrial chic feel for their wedding without breaking the bank. Thanks, Bella Notte, for sharing your beautiful industrial chic romantic wedding inspirations! I love my wedding blogger friends, but the truth is that much of the wedding inspiration that you see on other wedding blogs is just not possible here in the DMV. I get the frustration that many engaged couples in the Washington DC area feel when trying to plan a wedding. Today, we are featuring got an luxe wedding inspiration photographed by the talented Michelle Lindsay Photography, and designed and executed by Sarah and Whitney at Bella Notte. From Whitney of Bella Notte: The raw industrial space in Dock 5 in Union Market DC lends itself equally well to a sleek and clean aesthetic for a wedding, but it inspired us to play with the idea of bringing the feel of a garden wedding indoors and juxtaposing lush botanicals and glam details against this modern backdrop. When it came time to create a dream wedding tablescape, the team setup a long, wide grey farmtable for a luxurious feel completing it with a mix of contemporary ghost chairs and velvet upholstered Louis XVI chairs.
From Sara and Whitney: For one wedding reception table, we layered an organza La Tavola King’s Drape linen over a parchment colored base layer for an ethereal feel that mimicked the beautiful Hayley Paige wedding dress the bride wore. Petal’s Edge provided a luxurious runner of greenery, woven with a variety of amethyst, orchid and purple flowers that cascaded down the side of the table to the floor. At each place setting, gold chargers were topped with polka dot dinner plates and accented with gold flatware while place cards with cheerful purple script from Meant to Be Calligraphy added the finishing touch. When the wedding menu and the wedding cake are top priorities, you have today’s fabulous foodie inspired wedding in Maryland where it was literally raining cherry blossoms on a gorgeous spring day! From the bride: Our main priorities for the wedding were focusing on our family and friends, and creating a memorable and intimate evening for all of them! It has been a pleasure to travel around the world in 2014 working on employee engagement and it is a a treasure to be home. Thanks to Ever After Visuals, Heather Bee Photography & Theresa Choi Photography, we have three celebrations to share that really show off all that this gorgeous winery has to offer! For Natatia and Peter’s autumn wedding at Potomac Point Winery, the procession began at the wine cave as the bride was walked down a stunning aisle to her groom and guests at the bottom of the vineyard. Theresa Choi Photography was there to capture the wedding party cross over the ceremony ground’s bridge and the happy couple exchange vows under the hand-forged copper gazebo. For a truly romantic setting, you’ll want to follow in Nicole and Michael’s footsteps and head to the the more intimate settings at Potomac Point Winery. The Vines to Vows package at Potomac Point Winery includes a space for a rehearsal dinner, a ceremony on the grounds, a wine and cheese hour on the patio, a reception in the Ballroom and grape stomping!

Megan and Patrick carried their punchy color palette and nod to the South right on through to their reception at Collingwood Library and Museum in Virginia. Patrick fancies himself as a hip-hop connoisseur, so as a wedding gift I had a pair of high-top Nike Air Force 1’s made in our wedding colors.

One personal touch that incorporated our two families was that Patrick’s mother bought me a beautiful rosary that was tied around my bouquet. Too many times, the wedding inspiration swirling around Pinterest and on wedding blogs is not feasible for the DC area. In this practical wedding inspiration, the florals are rustic, romantic, and filled with abundance, yet not so much so that the look is unattainable within a realistic wedding budget. In designing this version, we selected items that are likely to be included in your standard catering or wedding venue packages.
This simpler floral design is more than $300 less than the elaborate woven garland featured in luxe design, retailing for only $150 per table, but still evokes a romantic, garden feel. First, a gold rimmed china that’s the standard with many caterers and wedding sites in the Washington DC area.

And best of all, these wedding ideas are possible on a typical wedding DC area budget and can be realistically replicated for a wedding with 120 guests. Be sure to visit them at Bella Notte and consider as your wedding planner and designer here in the DC area. You know that I always promise to keep it real when it comes to planning a wedding in Washington DC.
Either the wedding was on a non-humid, perfectly sunny, 80 degree day in the California desert in the middle of winter, which you know is most certainly not the Washington DC area at all. The wedding inspiration floating around Pinterest and wedding blog land is just unhelpful for so many different reasons! They came together with incredible floral design from Petal’s Edge to create a romantic industrial chic wedding ideas to inspire you to dream big for your big day!
We wanted to offset the concrete floors and exposed ceilings with a romantic wedding reception table, featuring a garland runner studded with flowers, whimsical linens, accents of gold and modern touches of contemporary calligraphy and ghost chairs. Design tip: When using wide, rectangular tables, look for extra wide wide rectangular linens to ensure you get full coverage on all sides of your tables.
To complete the table, Petal’s Edge created a focal point above the table by suspending a gold picture frame and vintage gold cups filled with blooms. The wedding day decor look is rich, romantic and even a bit modern. Be sure to visit her at Bella Notte and consider them for wedding planning and design in the Washington DC area. Laura and Connor held their celebration at the beautiful Oxon Hill Manor in Oxon Hill, Maryland where friends and family gathered outdoors in the garden for the ceremony (when luckily, it didn’t rain!) and then under a tent on the property for a gorgeous rustic chic wedding reception. As far as wedding details, we are both incredibly passionate about food (I’m a full-time food blogger!), so the wedding menu and wedding cake were both very important to us!
I am so grateful for how much I learned about employee engagement this year from people in Singapore, Dubai, St. If you’re searching for a venue that encompasses breathtaking views and your love of wine, then today’s virtual DC area wedding venue tour is just for you. The festivities continued in the Richland Ballroom (a space that can accommodate up to 250 guests) which overlooks the lush, bowl-shaped vineyard. In their wedding engagement session with Ever After Visuals, this duo took photos in the Library Room where the walls are adorned with a case of each kind of wine the venue serves. And, if you are looking for more inspiration, be sure to check out our local DC area wedding idea galleries. Megan and Patrick went back and forth on the palette for their Virginia wedding until Megan happened upon a pair of purple and green Kate Spade‘s and they sealed the deal. However, after a trip to Kate Spade, I found a green and purple shoe, I knew those colors were perfect! It worked perfectly that Patrick is a Gonzaga College High School alumn as they have the most beautiful church, St.
My mother is Cuban, so she loved that we had brought her cultural background into the wedding. Carina at Little Bird Creative made an awesome and really modern FREE printable of the iconic Washington DC monuments. More specifically, we are showing you how you can save $1,000 per wedding reception table by going with a slightly different design and making smart wedding budget choices, like making good use of what your caterer may already include in your wedding contract.
Take a peek at this stunning wedding inspiration, with a spin for the more budget-friendly wedding day.
The wide farm table was replaced with a standard with six foot rectangular table, the layered organza linens were swapped out for a simple white twill linen and gold Chiavari chairs replaced the costlier ghost chairs. Then we incorporated the same dotted dinner plate as in the luxe design, but eliminated the gold charger. My mission is to show you what is practical and what is possible when it comes to Washington DC area weddings. Or, even more common in the wedding blog world, is that the ideas and decor is so amazingly gorgeous, but to replicate that gorgeousness over 12 wedding reception tables at a wedding in the real world is financially impossible.
I’ve been dreaming about this two part wedding inspiration feature for quite some time.
Our wedding color palette featured pops of amethyst and orchid against a backdrop of cream and blush tones, navy and natural greenery with modern gold accents.
Today, we’re heading to the rolling hills of Virginia wine country at the Tuscan-inspired Potomac Point Winery.
This grand space is lined with French doors that lead to the patio, creating additional space for guests. This space is perfect for an intimate and romantic dinner for up to 8 (think birthdays and anniversaries).
Keri and John had a little bit of vineyard fun in their wedding beautifully captured by Heather Bee Photography.

Even if you aren’t marrying within the Jewish faith, there’s no reason not to check out this inspiration! In fact, Megan gifted Patrick, a self-proclaimed hip hop connoisseur, a custom pair of high-tops, in their wedding colors!
My best advice is to really do some research and don’t throw out venues outside of the city. Patrick has lived in the DC metro area for the majority of his life, but loves all things south of the Mason Dixon. I printed it out on a sheet of sticky paper, attached it to a box full of macarons and viola – an easy way to present your guests with little sweet treat at the end of the night.
Yesterday, we showed you a luxe wedding inspiration, which requires a an equally luxurious wedding budget to achieve. While the overall design isn’t changed dramatically, the change in these rentals saves $1,000 per table!
Upgrading a dinner plate, rather than opting for a charger, is an inexpensive way to upgrade the look of your tabletop, sometimes costing less than a dollar a plate. When you see wedding inspiration and styled wedding photos, remember that most times you are only seeing one table or one dessert. Her lush, overgrown organic bridal bouquet with pops of purple is stunning and looks so dramatic with her dress!
And this cake cutting was no typical slice, because the couple cut the cake using a sword that belonged to the groom’s great grandfather, a tradition in his family. Whether you’re hosting an intimate occasion for 40 or a grand fete for 250, Potomac Point Winery has several settings, both indoor and outdoor, that can accommodate you and your guests. After a few photos, they headed to the Barrel Room, a room with a truly Tuscan atmosphere from the bronze chandeliers to the arches and stucco walls, a great spot for a rehearsal dinner or wine and cheese bridal shower. The basic structure and idea of a chuppah provides a great frame for your vows, and an excellent source of shade too, no matter what type of ceremony you’ll be having. Additionally Father Charles Currie, who presided our wedding married Patrick’s parents back in the 70’s! You can fill the boxes with just about anything, or how about putting one at each place setting!? Today, we are sharing with you how to take those same industrial chic wedding ideas and modify them for a wedding in the real world, aka most weddings in the DC area!
Standard glassware, which looks classic and elegant, and gold flatware, added another touch of gold on the tabletop, complete the look. I have a two-part wedding inspiration series today and tomorrow that will knock your wedding planning socks off! To re-create that inspiration for your wedding would be so cost prohibitive that you’ll wish you never would have seen the inspiration in the first place! I went to a team of incredible Washington DC area wedding professionals who know all about how to take inspiration and turn it into reality. There’s even a gold and purple wedding cake to match! The details in this wedding inspiration are as grand as they are gorgeous if you want to go all out in your wedding day decor!
In addition to spaces made for the main events of your big day, let’s not forget about the private bridal salon and proposal tower, a romantic setting for two that’s perfect for popping the question.
As far as drink goes, open bar was a must as we had a lot of people coming in from out of town who were ready to party!
Finally, the place cards for this moderate budget look were DIY’ed with watercolor paint and a calligraphy marker. This wedding inspiration is industrial, because we have a lot of this around the DMV, and you won’t find much of the big city, urban wedding inspiration on wedding blogs.
The rest of the wedding day was planned to perfection by Janice at Bellwether Events to be a rustic dream that was pretty in pink and dark woods with burlap table runner accents and even a fountain woven in as part of the decor. You can download the free Washington DC monuments printable tags for free right here, or contact Carina to have her customize the stickers for your wedding. Peel sticker away from paper backing and place sticker over box on top of baker’s twine to secure box and twine. This wedding inspiration is set inside at a real wedding location, as most DC area wedding venues are inside due to the unpredictable weather around here. The coral bridesmaid dresses were a fabulous accent against the masculine wooden table numbers, making their wedding reception the perfect blend of his and hers.
To make it my own, I went to Hitched in Georgetown with my mother and Patrick’s to find a bolero, veil and sparkly belt.
But, my favorite detail has to be the mini foods that were served, including tiny ice cream cones and savory cones filled with french fries. A big thanks to Washington DC area wedding photgorapher Michelle Lindsay Photography for sharing Laura and Conner’s Washington DC area wedding with us!
