Since I've been using it I've been doing my normal mix of 4-5 days of resistance training for bodybuilding focus (so muscle group splits usually), along with 3-5 days of low-moderate cardio (walking, jogging, exercise bike). I know my supplement recommendations aren’t flashy, or even exciting, but they help to make up the foundation of a diet that delivers results, not empty promises! But i want to know the best supplement for muscle building at gnc disregardless of the price.
I always considered “supplementation” an extreme aspect of body building for the vein-popping, testosterone-driven, hulks of the gym. Jamie describes taking BCAA supplements as our “insurance policy” to make 100% sure that our gaps are filled in.

I used to work for GNC when I was in college and I tried tons of supplements… with no great results. Most big name companys like muscletech just want $$$$$$$$$$ and nothing else it’s all nothing but marketing and in no way has anything to do with your overall health. Supplements, in my brain, equated to freaky chemical-laden concoctions that artificially promoted muscle mass. Nothing crazy or magical about this supplement, it’s just like taking any other vitamin or mineral. For the past 6-7 weeks or so, I've been taking one of GNC's relatively new products "Re-Built Mass", from their fantastic new hardcore line of supplements "Beyond Raw". I like to cover my bases to maximize my muscle mass gains, inhibit potential excessive breakdown, and boost recovery. Then after I wrote it off, the supplement companies funded some “cutting-edge research” that showed how creatine needs to be in the presence of high insulin levels in order to be absorbed.


To ensure adequate amounts of EFA’s, I recommend supplementing your diet with a high quality fish oil supplement. I used to believe in all the pictures I saw then i wised up the only supplements you’ll ifnd on me are Omega and fish oils optimum 100% natural whey waxy maize and multi vitamins and I am seeing far better results than i ever did from Muscletech and all the other brands. While I'm not necessarily trying to bulk up at all costs these days like I used to, I am always looking to pack on high quality lean muscle mass and prevent unnecessary muscle catabolism (breakdown).
After some deliberation, I decided that it would be most helpful to you if I tackled the topic of supplements. Based on feedback, there is such little clarity on supplement use, and people generally feel they have nowhere to turn for honest information. Additionally, the supplement companies claim that the BCAA’s also increase GH levels, enhance fat loss, and increase strength.
These supplements basically contain the amino acid arginine (and some add citrulline to the mix).
Ultimately I chose GNC’s brand (I wanted one that contained Glutamine) in Watermelon flavor!
I take a scoop or more post-workout (make sure it's within 20 minutes post-workout), and I take a final scoop about 30-45 minutes before bed with skim milk for long-lasting enhanced muscle building and recovery while I'm sleeping.
And since it is made by GNC, it can be a more Frugal alternative mass-builder, especially with GNC's Gold Card discounts and sales. If you are really looking to maintain muscle mass during intense training regimens, or build muscle mass when it doesn't come easy, then you can't afford to miss any muscle building opportunity!
