I find breakfast is a great meal to get Little One to eat a whole range of nutritious foods- calcium from milk and yogurt, protein from eggs, fibre and iron from toast and cereal and vitamins from fruit. I thought I would share some of our new favourite breakfast time ideas with links to the recipes.
Little One is a big fan of petit filous and yogurt for dessert, so I thought why not combine yogurt, cereal and fruit together to create a healthy cereal yogurt fruit parfait for breakfast.
Fruit smoothies are a great healthy option for breakfast, and for toddlers, adding milk and some yogurt adds extra calcium. What is important is that breakfast should be packed with nutrients to keep us energized throughout the day. Grab some mangoes while they are in season and serve them as yummy smoothies for your family.
November 12, 2013 by Becky Jha 2 Comments We are not big breakfast eaters in our house, so we rarely make much of a fuss about it. Truth be told, of all the working mom guilt I carry in my heart, what we eat for breakfast isn’t even on my radar. It's easy to get stuck in a rut with breakfast though, and more often than not we turn to a bowl of cereal and a piece of toast, but we have been experimenting with how we can make our favourite meal of the day a little more exciting! They are just so versatile and if we need to rustle up a dish in a short amount of time, we can always turn to eggs to create a tasty, nutritious meal for Little One.
They are really tasty and are a great idea for breakfast 'on the go' or just as a little snack.
Here are some healthy breakfast recipes that you can make for a fully loaded and healthy breakfast meal to keep you energized and ready for the day.

With this recipe, you can make pizza with bread slices and tomatoes—and eggs, for the breakfast feel!
Raspberries are found to prevent cancer and heart problems, so serving them in smoothies that your family can enjoy is a smart and healthy choice! It only takes fifteen minutes to prepare and it’s perfect for figure-conscious people too! I had a conference I needed to attend for work and darted out the door, wet hair and five minutes late, naturally. She has been teaching high school English for 15 years and currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband, their two children, and their German Shepherd. Good to know that others put aside the fancy meals aside for the cuddle time or car rides over mealtime to get somewhere special for a family event etc. I love the sound of these banana pancakes; a healthy alternative to the standard pancake made with flour.
They're also a great way of using up over-ripe bananas and toddlers will enjoy eating them especially if they have helped to make them. Breakfast should be a balanced meal of go, grow and glow foods, just like any other meal of the day.
This will not only make your breakfast fluffier but will also make it healthier because it’ll contain less fat and cholesterol. Avocado is infamous for bringing good cholesterol and decreasing bad ones, while tomatoes are rich in lycopene—a heart-healthy combination! Plus, it’s also packed with protein and carbohydrates to keep them energized for the whole day!

When I arrived, the topic amongst the other mothers was about what we fed our kids for breakfast. She spends her precious summer vacations indulging in passions other than literature: serving as a lactation peer coach, practicing herbal medicine, organic gardening, making natural cleansers and cosmetics, and preparing quick and easy organic recipes for her family. They will never remember what you made for breakfast but they do remember and look forward to the special times.
A daily serving of cereal is a great way of getting milk into toddlers, especially if like Little One they don't like having milk as a drink.
Eggs, bacon and bread are the most famous foods for breakfast, but you can make your breakfast with other ingredients, too.
We never miss this and while Daddy makes breakfast is gives Mommy time to cuddle wiht the kids and catch up from working all week! You can also incorporate vegetables and fruits loaded with fiber, vitamins and minerals in your breakfast. I certainly don’t feel bad about allowing my husband to make the culinary decisions for the day. I was disappointed in myself about not serving the kids breakfast; none of the other mothers even suggested a hint of judgment.
