Beautiful ships, amazing ports of call, world-class service, and kids' clubs that are second to none are only a few of the reasons that Disney Cruise Line is the most popular cruise line for families.A  Like most things in life however, with increased popularity comes increased cost. Something all Disney Cruise Line experts already know is that booking your cruise early (12-18 months in advance) is going to get you the best price.A  Disney Cruise Line, like all other cruise lines, uses a tiered pricing system. Of course Disney wants you to spend freely on their vacations, but they really like it when you use their credit card to finance the magic.A  I resisted this card for a while, but finally gave in and I'm glad I did.
Target stores offer a debit card that will save you 5% off your purchases and that discount applies to gift cards as well. I know, this sounds obvious - but the number of people who don't do their research on this would shock you.
As with any family vacation destination, the times of the year when kids are out of school is when prices can go through the roof. Do the initials IGT, OGT or VGT mean anything to you?A  Well, they should if youa€™re thinking about saving money on a Disney Cruise Line vacation.A  They stand for Inside Guarantee, Outside Guarantee, and Verandah Guarantee. Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port-of-call. Shore excursions are a great way to see your destination in a limited amount of time, and the shore excursions that are provided through the ship are normally charged at a premium.A  There are several companies that offer shore excursions directly and sometimes the savings can be substantial.

Coloring Pages for children is a wonderful activity that encourages children to think in a creative way and arises their curiosity. The vessel's enormous capacity will enable Maersk Line to move the greatest number of containers possible for its customers in the most energy efficient way and with the smallest CO2 footprint. The Triple-E isn't just the largest vessel of any kind in operation today: it is actually the longest and widest container vessel possible based on port restrictions. Unlike Emma M?rsk's more typical V-shaped hull which limits container capacity towards the bottom of the 'V' in the cargo holds, the hull of the Triple-E is more like a U-shape.
Additional container space has been created in the vessel by moving the navigation bridge and accommodation 5 bays forward and the engine room and chimney 6 bays back in what is called a 'two-island' design.
At 400 metres long the Triple-E ships on order by Maersk Line are larger than any vessel of any kind currently on the water. The largest ships currently sailing the world's oceans are the Emma M?rsk class vessels which are 396 meters long. Other known large ships include the super tanker Berge Emperor (380 meters), the cruise ship Allure of the Seas (361 meters), and the war ship USS Enterprise (341 meters). The largest ship ever built was the super tanker Knock Nevis which was 458 meters long but is no longer in service and is being scrapped. The height (above baseline) of Triple-E is 73 meters which is slightly higher than Allure of the Seas (72 meters), which currently is considered the highest. Although it is possible to operate the giant with a crew of 13, in normal operation, the vessel have a crew of 19 seafarers. Maersk Line has signed a contract for 10 of the world's largest, most efficient container vessels with an option to buy another 20. The new, giant container vessels will be known as Triple-E, based on the three main purposes for their creation: Economy of scale, Energy efficiency and Environmentally improved. At 400 metres long, 59 metres wide and 73 metres tall, the Triple-E will be the largest vessel of any type known to be in operation. At a cost of USD 190 million per vessel — and therefore a contract value of USD 5.7 billion should the option for a further 20 be exercised — Maersk Line is buying the ships to position itself to profit from the 5–8 % growth in trade from Asia to Europe that the company expects, and to maintain its industry leading market share in the trade. The new vessels will not just set a new benchmark for size; in addition, they will ensure Maersk Line reaches its goals at the lowest possible cost, while producing the lowest possible amount of CO2 emissions — an astonishing 50% less CO2 per container moved than the industry average on the Asia–Europe trade.
They’ve been described as “floating cities,” boasting as they do extravagant on-board features such as ice rinks, water parks, poolside movie screens and extravagant casino halls. Carnival Breeze is the third and final “Dream”-class ship added to Carnival Cruise Lines’ fleet, and it was launched in 2012. Carnival Cruise Lines boasts that passengers will experience the “hottest new spaces” on their way from Miami to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, and the Carnival Breeze showcases the company’s focus on food, drink and entertainment. Despite its name and Scandinavian ownership, the Norwegian Breakaway has New York City at its heart. Norwegian Breakaway is set to be joined by a sister ship, the Norwegian Getaway, in early 2014.
Celebrity Reflection joined the Celebrity Cruises fleet in late 2012 as the last of the company’s five “Solstice”-class cruisers – which have been described as coming “from the minds of the world’s top designers and architects.” The ship, which accommodates more than 3,000 guests, is the only vessel in the Solstice class to feature the luxury two-bedroom “Reflection” suites. In addition, the ship promotes creativity with its Art Studio, where passengers can learn from two “master artists” about jewelry making, painting and even the world of drink mixology. During its three- to five-day trips to the Bahamas, the ship offers a range of activities, among them a mini-golf course with nine holes, a walking track, and a full-size basketball court that can double as a soccer pitch, table tennis space or volleyball court. On June 13, 2013, the Royal Princess was christened, fittingly enough, by the Duchess of Cambridge.
The 1,083-foot-long vessel was built by Fincantieri in Italy and is operated by California-based American-British company Princess Cruises.

The MS Allure of the Seas holds the record as the largest passenger ship ever made, nudging its sister ship, the MS Oasis of the Seas, into second place by a mere two inches. According to Royal Caribbean International, the ship provides an “unrivalled host of on-board experiences.” A two-deck dance hall, a 1,380-seat auditorium and an ice-skating rink are just some of the attractions on offer.
In 2008 Celebrity Solstice became the first “Solstice”-class ship to be added to Celebrity Cruises’ fleet, although it was soon followed by four sister ships: the Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Silhouette, Celebrity Eclipse and Celebrity Reflection. Luxury amenities on board the Celebrity Solstice include a theater that seats over 1,400 people, and the Lawn Club – a real grass lawn on the upper deck that features a putting range, bocce courts and the “Hot Glass Show,” where passengers can watch intricate works of glass art being created.
Royal Caribbean International describes the MS Mariner of the Seas as “a ship built for action, relaxation and everything in between.” The Mariner of the Seas is one of the cruise line’s “Voyager”-class ships and features glass balconies, an outdoor movie screen, a “diamond lounge,” digital signage and Wi-Fi. In 2009 and 2010, Royal Caribbean International’s “Freedom”-class ships were replaced by the company’s new “Oasis” class.
The Oasis of the Seas, which has been described as “an entire water-going city,” has capacity for 8,500 passengers and staff.
Liberty of the Seas was launched in 2007 and is one of Royal Caribbean International’s three “Freedom”-class cruisers. A As someone who visits Disney regularly, rewards that I can spend in the parks (or on hotel rooms, cruises and virtually anything else Disney sells) are appealing to me. A Christmas, summer, and spring break all tend to be at least 20-30% more expensive than at other times of the year. Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle.
It is an educational tool and is considered an important contribution to a child's development. The US$190 million, 400 meter 'Triple-E' class behemoths will carry 18,000 TEU containers, 2500 more than the current largest, Emma M?rsk. And the reality is that the visible dimensions of the ship–only four meters longer and three meters wider than Emma M?rsk, the world's largest vessel in operation – do not fully convey its size.
Through feats of engineering, the Triple-E's vastly expanded inside cavity gives it a capacity 16 percent greater than Emma (equivalent to 2,500 containers), despite relatively little change in the length and width. An additional row of containers was added to the Triple-E as well, giving it 23 rows across its width, compared to Emma's 22. With the more forward navigation bridge, containers can be stacked higher in front of the bridge (approximately 250 more) without losing visibility.
The vessels will have a capacity of 18,000 TEU and will be delivered from Korea's DSME shipyard from 2013 to 2015.
Its 18,000 twenty-foot container capacity is a massive 16 % larger (2,500 TEU) than Emma M?rsk.
Cruise ships have come a long way since the Augusta Victoria sailed the Mediterranean and Near East with 241 passengers in 1891, and the industry has now exploded.
It was constructed by Italian shipbuilders Fincantieri, with the Dream-class series representing some of the largest passenger ships the Italian company has ever created. On this ship, Carnival Cruise Lines parted from previous head designer Joe Farcus and instead chose to work with Hamburg-based Partner Design, who replicated an easy-going Caribbean setting, complete with palm trees and driftwood-style signage. A marketing image on the ship’s official website depicts it with the buildings of New York’s skyline on its top deck, set above the colorful mural of the Big Apple emblazoned on its hull. And following an excellent response to the Breakaway from the press, travel agents and guests, Norwegian Cruise Line has also already commissioned two vessels in the second-generation “Breakaway Plus” class, with the first ship due for delivery in 2015. It also showcases the first of the company’s “AquaClass” suites, and an extra deck compared to its sister ships, as well as some stunningly lit pools, like that seen in the image above. The Celebrity Reflection’s 2013 itinerary offers summer Mediterranean sailing from Civitavecchia in Rome and Caribbean sailing leaving Miami in the winter.
The ship’s horn plays an array of classic Disney songs, including “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast and “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me),” the theme song for Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean theme park attractions. However, arguably the highlight is the AquaDuck, a 765-foot-long “water coaster” that drops down four decks and extends 13 feet over the edge of the ship and across the front funnel. However, the ship was actually named after its illustrious seafaring predecessor, which was launched in 1984 and is no longer in operation. It features the company’s largest top-deck pool, even if overall the ship has fewer pools than others in the Princess fleet. Within one of the seven separate “neighborhoods” is the self-declared “first park at sea,” which features more than 12,000 plants. The ship’s design has gained plaudits, with Cruise Critic describing it as possessing “one of the best interior architecture designs” the website has ever seen.
When it was built, it was the third-largest cruise ship in the world and Norwegian Cruise Line’s first “mega”-class vessel.
Other attractions include ice- and in-line-skating, miniature golf, soccer, basketball, volleyball and rock climbing. First out of the dock was the MS Oasis of the Seas, which was the largest cruise ship in the world when it made its maiden voyage on December 5, 2009 – although it was eclipsed by its sister ship the MS Allure of the Seas a year later.
It boasts an array of entertainment and sports attractions, including a zip-line, a casino, miniature golf, volleyball, basketball, and five swimming pools. A Rebooking when you are onboard the ship is another way to cut the cost of your next cruise. A I also like that special promotions are released to Disney Chase Visa card members a few days before they are released to the general public.

A You can register at your local Target for the debit card - which is attached to your existing bank account.
A You're not going to find these rates on every cruise, and when you do they are usually available within 75 days of sailing.A  With these rates you are guaranteed a stateroom in that class (Inside, Outside or Verandah), but you have no control over what stateroom or location it will be in. Beyond the educational virtues, coloring sessions allow us, the adults, a little peace and quiet while the boy or girl enjoy coloring.
Superior economies of scale will enable the new monsters to surpass the industry record for both fuel efficiency and (20% better) CO2 emissions per container moved.
And approximately 750 more containers fill the space behind the bridge above deck and below deck using the space created by the engine room's position further to the back of the vessel. Since 2001, at least nine new cruise ships have taken to the seas each year, and it’s a competitive market, with the various craft jostling to set records and offer state-of-the-art attractions. The Carnival Breeze offers a host of attractions, including a 4D cinema, whirlpools and a water park, and its exterior promenade measures half a mile in length.
The design has been described as “less schizophrenic” than some of the over-the-top styles that have previously been associated with the cruise line. Norwegian Breakaway, which was named through a public competition, is the fifth-largest cruise ship in the world and the largest to be home-ported in New York. For those wanting an escape from the kids, though, there’s also the grownups-only Quiet Cove Pool, featuring a bar.
As well as a water and light show available to them, passengers can enjoy the ship’s poolside “Movies Under the Stars” screen, and a glass-bottomed walkway that offers views of the sea 128 feet down below.
Anglo-Italian muralist Clarissa Parish was also brought on board to decorate many of the interior walls. In 2009 the ship was prominently featured at the International Interior Design Association’s “Pioneering Design Lecture Series” in New York.
The craft quickly made an impression, winning the accolade of “Best Cruise Ship” from Travel Weekly in 2011 and 2012. Yet even with its great emphasis on the athletic side of life, there’s still room for fantastic design on the Mariner of the Seas. Yet possibly one of the ship’s most distinctive aspects is the fact that activities are split, theme park-style, between several themed “neighborhoods.” At the ship’s naming ceremony, “godmothers,” among them Gloria Estefan and Jane Seymour, sponsored each area. Royal Caribbean International’s Freedom-class ships put the spotlight on sports and athletics, and the Liberty of the Seas includes a FlowRider on-board wave creator, a boxing ring, an ice-skating rink, and a full-size court for volleyball and basketball. A You earn 2% when using the card at restaurants, gas stations, supermarkets (and of course Disney) and 1% on all other purchases. A If you are a family with a member who is active military, or a Florida resident, specials are offered more regularly than for the general public. A You also need to pay the fare up-front (as these are usually released inside Disney's cancellation period - meaning the people who booked at the higher rate can't cancel without losing 100% of what they paid). Not to mention the result: coloring pages for preschoolers are proudly presented at the nursery, kindergarten or even grandma and grandpa's living room! Please note the images are not hosted on our servers, hence some of the images might not download. The water park, named the WaterWorks, features a 300-foot (91-meter) corkscrew water slide known as the Twister together with another slide called the Drainpipe.
One of its more distinctive elements is the Ice Bar, which is kept at a constant 17°F (-8°C) and features ice sculptures of New York landmarks the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty and the Chrysler Building, as well as specialty NYC-themed cocktails. Interior design for the ship was handled by Genoa-based architect Giacomo Mortola and Princess Cruises’ vice president of interior design Teresa Anderson.
South Florida-based artist Romero Britto colorfully decorated the main pool area of the ship, which Cruise Critic compared to “a fabulous scene from St. Its two cantilevered whirlpools – which stick out from the deck of the ship and offer striking views of the sea – are also a highlight. A They will typically offer a half price deposit on itineraries that are 7 nights or longer as well as an onboard credit ($100 for sailings under 7 nights and $200 for sailings over 7 nights).
A Those dollars can be applied to your statement, or redeemed as Disney gift cards (which can then be used to pay for your cruise, or to pay for your charges on board).
A This will also work with the Target credit card, but it only makes sense to use that if you plan on paying it off right away as the finance charges will more than eliminate any savings. A  If traveling off season isn't possible, then consider being flexible to take advantage of last minute deals, like the ones we list here. If you like to completely remove your website from our search engine index, please follow the instructions below, "Remove from Index". As with all Norwegian Cruise Line’s modern ships, the Norwegian Epic can be spotted from a distance thanks to its distinctive bow art.
A So you can charge your Disney Cruise on this card, then earn Disney gift cards to spend at Disney. A To learn more about the various seasons that impact Disney Cruise Line pricing, see the "When to travel on a Disney Cruise" section on the DCL pricing and reservations page on the DIS.
A  Plus, you can also earn a $100 Disney gift card when you spend $500 or more on the card in your first 90 days.
