If you're looking for a gift to impress your Valentine, Keith Prowse Tours has a couple of ideas. While I realise that none of the above metrics provides a definitive measure of influence, I believe that they provide a fair assessment of web authority (PageRank, inbound links) and social media popularity (Twitter, Delicious) and when weighed together they give a good indication of online influence. You might not agree with my metrics (particularly if your company's website isn't featured in the top 40), in which case please leave a comment below with your suggestions and I'll respond.
You can try the test on your own website, like this: (if you think you've found one that should be in the top 40, please let me know). Exodus has introduced a new programme of dog-sledding weekends in Slovakia's Low Tatra mountains. Known to the dog-sledding community as the venue for the World and European Championship sprint race, which brings the best European mushers and their dog teams to the region every year, Donovaly in the Low Tatras is one of Slovakia’s best known winter destinations. Exodus has introduced a new range of cycling adventures for 2011 from the Danube in Serbia to the road to Damascus in Syria and cities and beaches of Vietnam. There are over 50 itineraries to choose from with prices starting at ?949 for 8 days cycling from the Dolomites to Venice. The new Ride the Road to Damascus travels through Syria, across Damascus and Aleppo for 9 days and costs from ?1,299. Exodus will be exhibiting at the Cycling Show at London’s Earls Court from October 6-8 (stand F11). I'm a relative Greek virgin, relative at least to those of my friends who spent the late '70s and early '80s island-hopping with a backpack and ferry timetable while I partied my way through University and studiously climbed the career ladder. The obvious answer is the absence of an airport; you arrive via the hour's hydrofoil or longer ferry trip from Corfu or Igoumenitsa,  and the fact that virtually all the tourist accommodation is in villas and apartments - charming, characterful ones at that, with the odd discreet gin palace tucked away in the olive groves.

With less than 500 days to go, football fans will not only be hoping to win out in the ballot for tickets.
One of my most memorable travel experiences of recent years was a luxury spa holiday in Tuscany run by in:spa. So the Healthy Holiday Company, which runs in:spa, has launched a new bloke-friendly brand, fitscape, that offers fitness holidays in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and at Babington House, the posh country hotel in Somerset. Parents looking for bargain family holidays this summer should head for Mexico, Norway or Canada, according to a survey by International Currency Exchange. We're big fans of Mexico, Canada, and Norway, but when it comes to bargain family holidays we're not convinced they fit the bill. Istanbul in summer is a hot and hectic place - but there's a seriously cool way to enjoy its remarkable palaces, mosques and bazaars. I have just returned from a 4 day trip to Istanbul where I stayed at two luxury hotels, the Kempinski and the new Four Seasons (pictured above).
With outdoor pools, al fresco dining and views across to Asia on the opposite banks, they are more like seaside resorts than city hotels, yet just 10 minutes or so by taxi from the main sights. And these are no ordinary five star retreats; each has been converted from a 19th century Ottoman Palace, built as imperial summer boltholes for the sultans.
The Ciragan Palace is the older and larger hotel (313 rooms, mostly in a modern annexe), virtually next door. Our contributors each reveal a personal favourite place to stay where a double room costs no more than ?150 ($250). I've tried to measure online influence based on a combination of web metrics and here I present the 40 most influential travel websites in the UK. The number of third-party web pages that link to the site according to Yahoo Site Explorer. Twitter Lists: some companies (such as TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet) have separate Twitter accounts for the UK and US. Here, travellers will be able to pick up tips from the best and learn from scratch, the skills of dog-sledding. You will visit the ruins of Palmyra, the Crusader castle of Krak des Chevaliers and the mediaeval waterwheels of Hama.

For someone who has spent her entire career in travel and has had the great fortune to visit some of the world's most amazing places, that's really saying something. It received 18% of the votes, ahead of Barcelona's Nou Camp stadium and the new Olympic stadium in Beijing. On 4th July 2009 Monaco will host the opening stage of the Tour de France – Le Grand Depart - for the first time. Their aim is to conserve the gorillas and their forest habitats by improving the livelihoods of local people. A combination of yoga, hiking, cycling, a detox diet, expert tuition and regular massage treatments left me feeling like a new man - healthy, fit and mentally rejuvenated. Both are situated on the banks of the Bosphorous, the narrow straits that separate Europe from Asia. The soft and natural interiors are a long way from the glitz that your average Ottoman would have demanded, although the standards of service would please the most demanding of pashas. Restored and reopened by Kempinski in 1991 after a massive fire, the style is more traditional.
The cost, from ?238 pp, includes one night's accommodation in London, return coach transfers to Silverstone and a one day admission ticket to the 2010 British Grand Prix.
The Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, the San Siro stadium in Milan, the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro and the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia made up the final four places. One man who did sign up was so embarrassed that he told his mates he was skiing in New Zealand.
It opened a few months ago, as sister to the Four Seasons Sultanahmet, which was earlier converted from a prison in the old heart of town.
It scores particularly highly on food, from what could well be the world's most elaborate breakfast to the award winning Turga restaurant, which serves recipes derived from historic Ottoman recipes. The Four Seasons on the Bosphorous has 166 rooms - hardly boutique, but the feel is surprisingly intimate.
