After 2 weeks on the Stat Plan I have lost a total of 11 pounds and my husband has lost 12. You will implement many of the lessons from phases 1 & 2 and try to adopt this diet into your life such as snacking in between meals. Following the guidelines of the Doctor’s diet is truly a great way to improve your way of life. Some users complain about the wording in the Kindle edition of this book difficult to see (not really a con, but something to keep in mind). For the most part, this plan is a great approach to not just weight loss, but long term health. Also, although it is true one can eat grains during the STAT plan, only one optional serving per day is allowed of a whole grain, as are an optional single serving of a healthy oil and an optional half-cup serving of a high density vegetable. Overall, The Doctor’s Diet is a reduced calorie, low-fat, low-sugar, high-fiber, well-balanced, healthy way to eat. Although I ate the entire day the calorie intake is very low on the stat phase, really only came in at 800 calories or less. This is an important approach to dieting that will help with weight loss while not making you go hungry. A lot of suggested snacks in the Doctor’s diet are actually high satiety foods with low calories.

It’s going to come down to eating most of the foods you already had during the first 2 phases. While the Doctor’s diet is more standard, the 3 Week DietВ is better for faster results. I am a mom of 2 kids, my husband is gone a lot, and I babysit kids all day, run them around to extra activities and am always busy.
The whole point of the Doctor’s Diet is to get you to adopt a healthy lifestyle, which includes more than just eating. You’re basically going to set the foundations for eating right and after the 14 day period, things will ease up. Travis does point out some obvious things, he also takes the traditional and most proven approach to helping people improve their health. I will let you know how much I lose on that phase of the diet which I assume is not going to be as drastic as the stat plan. This diet may be difficult to maintain for a lot of people, but at the same time it’s certainly worth trying especially if you already have problems that you need to deal with. Stork explains all of the potentially fatal health risks associated with an unhealthy diet and the specific food groups that can act as medicines to attain immediate results.

Flexibility is built into the recipes in order to accommodate all different diets and skill levels, from meat lovers to vegetarians and chefs to non-cooks. A lot of things that I thought were healthy really are not and I only learned that from this book.
Stork outlines the steps to a healthier life with encouragement, personal anecdotes, and a passionate sense of urgency to rescue the reader from diet-related demise. Once you get off of the diet you start to put back on all of the weight and that is the cycle most people have to deal with. I do recommend buying a hard back copy because I have both and the kindle copy is very hard to look back through to find recipes and food list.

It also causes me to fatigue easily so exercise is a tiny bit harder.I'm not telling you this so you can throw me a pity party but I am telling you this so you can understand how well this diet works. After a couple of days on this diet his blood sugar went to 100-150 and his insulin usage is down to 2 shots per day of 5-20 units per shot.
The hard back copy has little sticky notes marking the areas I need to refer back too and it's much more convenient. I think it's important for those out there that are living with diabetes and struggling to control it. He had to have an extra snack between meals that I did not have but it was necessary to control his blood sugar.I have 1 more week left on the stat plan and then it's time to move on to the restore phase.
I will update next week and let you guys know the progress but my final rating will be 5 stars because even if someone needs to lose weight fast for a wedding or vacation I think 8 pounds in a week is more then enough. You are also told during this entire diet that you should be including at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. Either you have more weight to lose and need to go back on the Stat Plan for an additional 2 weeks and start the cycle over or you have reached your goal weight and you can move onto the Maintain phase of the diet.This third phase of the diet is what sets this diet apart from other diets I've tried. This phase of the diet is how you will need to eat for the rest of your life to ensure your weight stays off. This is a healthy, science based balanced diet.I have seen several reviews complaining about this book and rating it low, siting the fact that you have to exercise and you lose "freedom" to eat what you want. Some people think once you've read the book all of the weight falls off with no other effort. This book tells you what you NEED to do to get the weight off, keep it off, and restore your health, as well as prevent disease. Yes I criticized others for rating this book unfairly so I feel that it's necessary for me to hold myself to the same standard. I will then come back in approximately a month and let you know how this diet works, how I felt on the diet, and I will give my final rating for the book.
