Tabata training is a term used in the fitness world for very high-intensity interval training (HIIT). The founder of this style of training was a Japanese scientist named Izumi Tabata who conducted a test on athletes. Take a look at a few examples of Tabata training and try these workouts at home or next time you go to the gym. Izumi Tabata and his colleagues at the National Institute of Health and Nutrition wanted to establish the minimum amount of training needed to increase fitness.
Tabatas are designed so that you won’t NEED to workout any longer than 4 minutes, but if you are advanced you can do a few rounds of 8 OR pair a Tabata with some cardiovascular training.
