Mould a small amount of the marinaded meat mixture (about 1 tsp or less) into a ball and place on top of tofu slices. Steam over high heat for about 5 minutes (starting from the time the water in steamer is boiling), or until the meat is cooked.

I’ve been eating quite a lot of steamed silky soft tofu lately and am itching to make one myself. One way to eat it is to wash the tofu and put it into the fridge for a short while and when the toppings are laid on top, you get a nice juxtaposition of hot and cold. Thanks for taking the time and effort to post this wonderful recipe and to let us know how you’re doing. I made some changes to the recipe as I wanted to make the most basic steamed tofu which doesn’t involve ingredients like meat floss, thousand eggs, pickled radish and dried shrimp.
I made normal tofu because I thought tofu is tofu I didn’t know there have another tofu like silken tofu also.
