Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 8 minutes or until slightly reduced and syrupy. My husband invited friends for dinner at short notice who have a specialised diet, but I knew they could eat salmon. Added a simple salad on the side with a vinaigrette to complement the sweetness of the salmon.


This is a seriously good recipe, except i agree with others, add lemon or lime juice to contrast the sweetness. I've made it twice in the past two weeks and the fish has come out absolutely perfect + silky both times. I read that it was a little sweet, so I added the juice of half a lime and reduced the amount of maple syrup to half a cup.
It is very sweet, wouldn't want a lot of the glaze - I also cheated and just used normal orange juice from the fridge which I think was fine. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until cooked to your liking, brushing salmon with reserved glaze halfway through cooking. I found that mine took longer to cook but that may have been because I had salmon with skin on.
