Below I will talk about a few simple changes I have successfully made and I am happy to report that they are fairly effortless to incorporate into your lifestyle no matter how busy you are. Smoothies (I use oat milk or almond milk) are filling and you can add whatever fruits you love. At least once a week I have a chicken salad (grilled chicken breast, baby spinach, avocado, cucumber, grated carrot, hard boiled eggs (cut in quarters) and cashews (finely chopped) or pine nuts on top….DELISH! If I feel like something sweet after dinner, I always have bananas in the freezer and I make a banana ‘ice cream’. So, these are some of the changes I have made and I have lost my 10kg baby weight and reached my pre-pregnancy weight by 10 weeks post partum and better still I feel so healthy and energetic. I believe that because of my previous bad eating habits, (and other factors I am sure!!), over many years, my digestive system had been dramatically weakened – hence the bloating, gas, fatigue, headaches and discomfort that I experienced during the cleansing phase. However, I so believed in the cleanse and the Garden Diet principles that I continued on with it and still am even though the 21 days are up. During this time I have learnt a lot about my own body and it’s requirements and of course am still learning.
For instance I discovered that I could not eat the full amount of food suggested for each day – so I reduced the amount and ate much less. Bit by bit over the weeks my brain fogginess and feeling of flatness has diminished almost completely, my bloating is reduced, finally my energy (of which I have not had much for some time now!!), is reviving – can hardly believe that – what a gift!!
I feel a bit euphoric and keep hoping that this breakthrough with my wellbeing will stay and I won’t sabotage this good thing.
At the same time I started on raw foods, July 3.11, I also started going to the gym mostly working on cardio and stretch.
The winter months ahead in 2012 were somewhat challenging since I was resorting to juices and salads and shakes.
I’ve come off vegan cooked foods and am back onto raw with renewed enthusiasm because I have some great menus with the support of The Garden Diet Program. I’m exploring the Vital Force Diet this week, having just completed the 28 day raw transition diet for the first time. I read stories about how people who did Gastric Bypass celebrated 2 birthdays: Their actual birthday and the day they got the surgery done.
One of the most important things that I have achieved just in these 21 days is the beautiful peace and freedom I feel.
I visited my Doctor in September 2012 and found out that I was borderline diabetic, borderline hypertensive and had insulin resistance. This time I tried the Garden Diet which is a 21 day cleanse followed by a 28 day transition diet.
For exercise, I am jogging 3 miles, two times a week and participating in Cross Fit four days a week. I had been heading down the path to a raw diet for months, but decided to take the plunge after coming across The Garden Diet site via a "raw cleanse" search. I started the 21 day cleanse as a diabetic, taking 55 units of insulin per night, and blood sugar readings of average 14-16 ( over 200ADA) within 10 days my sugars were at 6 ( 100) and I went off my insulin. Personally, I'm very glad that you have made the programs your career, and I have been motivated by your spiritual input.
Your recipes have been the starting point for my creative work in the kitchen, and the measure of whether I'm having appropriate amounts and types of foods. Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing what you do and being there as a touchstone for all of us! During the water fasting day, I was prepared to challenge myself, as I knew I couldn't sustain healthy existence as I had been, so it was time to step up.

The Garden Diet menu plan provided simple recipes that I could make as quickly as any SAD cooking mom could fry a pound of hamburger and open a cardboard box of dry noodles and seasoning packets. I have been holding my body in the highest regard for several years now, after 30 years of abuse with cigarettes, alcohol, and an eating disorder.

In my real life, I am an author, writer and most importantly mom to a beautiful 9 year old daughter and wife to an incredible man. I went vegetarian years ago, then became vegan as dairy and meat began to make me physically ill and finally the next step is raw vegan and I feel better than I have in 2 decades. I have followed and admired Jinjee & Storm for the past 7 years - dabbling in the raw food experience for that long, as well.

I have just been feeling better and better and have realized that my issue with my digestion was cooked food.
This is my first experience with raw food cleansing and, surprisingly, I love all your raw recipes. I am sleeping better, I do not need a fan blowing at me and I breathe easier while sleeping.

Cynthia, the things that are helping me succeed with my weight loss are being accountable to all of you, writing about it and my feelings each day, and sticking with the program. I lost around fifty pounds and went from being a couch potatoe to a moré energetic individual.
I am a Mum of 2 beautiful little girls and this is my honest account of my journey to regaining my own healthy lifestyle, fitness and motivation.
Seeing as I am extremely committed to breastfeeding for as long as I can, I had no choice but to eliminate dairy entirely from my diet. This was made easier by purchasing a big 1L water bottle and making sure I always have it with me and sip throughout the day and guzzle after exercise. Semi defrost 1 Banana and mash in a bowl (or use food processor). I add a drizzle of honey and sometimes top with strawberries. This also means if for some reason my day doesn’t go to plan and I don’t fit in a workout of some description, at least I have been for a walk.
I have always been one who sabotages good things in my life and from early childhood I believed a lie that said, “good things never last,” – and of course believing this, I made sure they didn’t, (that was on a subconscious level of course until this revelation came to light). And though vegetarian in my food habits, nothing I did allowed me to lose weight for any significant length of time. I knew that I was on a road to pills and I did not want to become a slave to prescription drugs. If it was not for your web site, a couple of your ebooks she purchased and your stories I do not think my wife would have talked me into trying this lifestyle. I love the blogs, and connecting with others on this journey to wholeness, thank you for making this possible for all of us.
I just wanted to share this with you, and thank you for having this cleanse available, I feel like I have my life back.

This is the first time that I have made a commitment on this scale (to myself and a larger group!).
He's been diligent, has not had his daily coffee & sugar, has more energy AND no longer has indigestion.
The 21 Day cleanse with the Garden Diet was a practical approach that simplified the challenge of eating 100% raw.
I guess it is because I had been eating more raw than cooked for quite a while and have been wanting to go raw and this opportunity was perfect for me. It isn't often you get to talk to the person in charge and I loved doing so on the 2nd conference call.
He lost 20 pounds and has learned that he can reach for a piece of fruit or vegetable and be delighted by the taste. Not only has my health improved but my cardiovascular fitness and endurance has me training with, and keeping in touch with, people 20, 30 to 40 years my junior.
Overall I thought it was great and was amazed how I felt and also with the quality of many of the recipes.
Getting my daily intake to a manageable level is one goal, and to be doing that in a predominantly raw way is another. Hopefully I can be of inspiration to others along the way and help YOU strive to be the best version of yourself too! Give your body time to digest it so you realise you are full afterwards and not looking to eat something as soon as you have finished. We eat Quinoa at least 2-3 times per week and it is so versatile and yummy, even our 7 year old loves it.
But was so easy to follow everthing was laid out very clear and the shopping list was great..
And are opened, but it's different -- I'm responding to them from a place a responsibility, respect, and with a love so deep I can see it, touch it, taste it, hear it, know it. I kinda thought this one would be good, but I had no idea that it was gonna make my tummy do loops and cartwheels of joy!!

The 21 day & 28 day Programs were my first introduction to raw and since the start I have lost 30 lbs & my husband 20. My body is getting better, as I can move more easily, since my fall in January I had trouble with my right knee and hips but they seem to be liking all these exercises. My body feels wonderful, I am happy, doing exercises in the form of Kundalini yoga + bicycle and mountain hiking also helps to keep me motivated. The recipes were easy to create, tasted delicious and were a satisfying combination of foods. I've been preparing for this since August when I bought them, and began my daily walks - walking & picking my knees up higher and stepping wider. He learned that ice-cream makes him hike slower and that he feels better when eating lighter. For me it was really about getting a feeling of what being raw for that amount of time would feel like and how my body would react - which was good. I just want to learn the tools, incorporate them permanently in my life and see consistent changes and weight loss.
I never would have thought of using cilantro and parsley as the base but it is so delicious"! I was taking 4 pills each day and after 10 days on the diet I am down to 1 pill each day". On top of our increased energy and wellbeing he has gone from 17% body fat to 9% and I have lost 40 pounds!!!
I didn't think the Ambrosia or celery chowder could be beat, but this little gem came outta no where and is running with the best of the pack. Most of the health issues I was dealing with have reversed their affects on my body and a couple week ago I went to get a physical and it is amazing to see where my cholesterol is and the massive change in my liver enzyme levels.
I could not be happier and would recommend this to anyone who wants more in terms of their health!  YES, I would do it again.
I started back getting focused on my work and I allowed myself to feel the feeling and moved on. He is planning on making some life style changes although he won't be 100% raw, he is excited about what this cleanse did for him and made him realize and he is supportive of what I what to do in the future.
I picked this time of year because I'm relatively not too busy, but I still had a short business trip and some travel that makes it hard, as well as everyday life with the kids and all. She shook me up a bit and I sort of let go of the 100% raw diet to a 80% raw with occasional cooked meal that I prepare for my husband. He is planning on making some life style changes although he won't be 100% raw, he is excited about what this program did for him and made him realize and he is supportive of what I what to do in the future. Green Tea is amazing and actually aids in weight loss byВ increasing fat burning and boosting the metabolic rate. Partly because I was never consistent with exercise and mostly because I always reverted back to my poor eating habits - fast food and homemade Mexican food.
My boyfriend says my facial skin is glowing and that I am looking younger, which makes me feel great.
Then the emotions overwhelm and it is more likely I will 'quit' in order to not continue to be retriggered.
So I can see how being at a retreat to do your cleanse and being sequestered from life can heighten the awareness and effects. I can't begin to tell you how easy it has gotten and how motivated I am after feeling so great and seeing results. I have been sleeping so soundly, as opposed to my usual restlessness, and of course I’ve had not a single stomach cramp during all of this which is so wonderful. I am a teacher and had trouble in the past staying raw due to the hectic schedule but feel so much more in control now. But overall I'm very happy to have participated and will work to incorporate many of these recipes into my life.
Jinjee, you are so very wise in helping and supporting us to be kind and flexible with ourselves and our present limitations. Join me on this journey and let's motivate each other, after all it is hard to do it alone! I really loved that the program not only focused on the diet, but the mental side as well; which is so important for overall health. Not only did I lose weight, but I gained so much knowledge and understanding that has allowed me to reach that level of mind, body, and spiritual health I've not had before. The message is clear: You are NOT A FAILURE and it is ok to make some adjustments to succeed. Then mentally beat myself up for overeating and getting fatter, which resulted in me eating more.
