Merritt competed in March Madness, his first CrossFit competition, after being part of CrossFit for only 8 months. Jeremy, I’ll be here tonight, tomorrow in the afternoon and wednesday in the morning to fulfill all of your body fat testing needs. Thanks for the shout out Tanner and Meagan, congrats to everyone who competed in the Open this year, and congrats to CFW for placing 2nd in our Region and 15th in the world! The great thing about the paleo diet is that you’ll be giving your body the food it was designed to run on.
If, however, you don’t need to lose weight but you do need to lose some fat and gain some lean muscle – perfect again – the paleo diet is for so much more than weight loss!
The only time you’re actually likely to gain weight on a paleo diet is if you’re just too skinny and you really need to put on weight.

Long before I ever heard about Paleo for weight loss I started looking at what I was eating and realised it really wasn’t doing me any good! So I found a paleo diet plan, complete with food lists, meal plans, plenty of delicious recipes and a definite plan of what I needed to do to stay on track.
Actually I still eat cake – just not often, and these days I’ll have a slice, not the whole cake!
The paleo diet doesn’t feel anything like the average weight loss diet, and yet it’s probably the best weight loss plan you’ll ever find. TweetThere’s nothing that makes me happier than seeing testimonials from friends and family members who have dramatically improved their lives by applying the diet and lifestyle principles we talk about here on Living Superhuman.  Today we have a good one from one of my friends from college, CJ Horvath.

After my accident, I really took advantage of living that “college” lifestyle, with weekly orders of Ale House chicken nachos, Round Table shuffle board and beers, and of course countless pitchers and wings at the infamous Billy’s.  Little did I realize that all of this was going to catch up to me, and affect me for the worst.
I first heard about the paleo diet and LivВing SuperВhuВman on FaceВbook, seeВing that I was friends with Andrew and Tony on the social netВwork.В  I was immeВdiВately interВested, not only for myself, but to supВport friends in their venВture to help othВers. The Bulletproof Diet: How to Upgrade Paleo and Eat More Chocolate, Butter, and Coffee Everyday! The Paleo Challenge is a 30-60 day challenge similar to our 6Pack Challenge designed to help participants clean up their diet. Most people are very likely to experience weight loss on paleo, but some will maintain their weight, others may even gain weight.
And otherwise you’re more likely to see a redistribution – less belly fat, thinner thighs, more lean muscle in your arms and shoulders, especially if you do some exercise in that area – and ladies, don’t worry, you won’t get huge, bulging biceps, just a strong, lean athletic look! Weight loss was still not my major concern, it was, once again, low energy and feeling pretty crappy most of the time. The paleo weight loss plan is so easy to stick to, because I’m giving my body the food it was designed to use, that I’m not tempted to go back to eating the way I did.
I live in the far south-west of Cornwall in the UK and I'm passionate about the Paleo Diet! I occasionally prepared paleo meals, and tried sticking to a workout routine, but I found myself cheating more times a week than eating right.  When summer arrived, I was ready to hit the 50 day challenge, only to be interrupted with a cruise and trip to Chicago, and anyone who has been to either knows that food is endless on the cruise, and Chicago has some great hometown favorites in which I couldn’t pass up. I became somewhat of a Paleo blog enthusiast searching out new recipes and I discovered a whole world of amazing Paleo dishes.
Just by cleaning things up a little and FINALLY cutting the half-n-half from my coffee (the only dairy I was consuming), I lost 6 lbs in the first week. I was getting plenty of exercise and sleep, but still waking up tired – I needed at least two cups of coffee to get me going.

I read people’s paleo success stories and decided this was definitely worth trying – but this time I was going to do it properly. One of my favorite dinner meals I still cook often is a recipe I found through The Foodee for pork chops with cinnamon apples and cranberries, YUM. And then by 3pm I’d be falling asleep at my desk and needed more coffee and chocolate to get me through the day! I’d gone from living on spaghetti bolognaise, curry and rice, risotto and sandwiches (and cake!) to… well that was just it, I didn’t know. Just as importantly for me, I started to feel great – waking up feeling refreshed and plenty of energy all day. When I finally stopped thinking about everything I couldn’t eat and started focusing on all of the amazing options I could eat it actually became fun! Simply making the commitment to a strict Paleo Diet results in 10lbs reduction in BW in 1 week. Amidst all of the amazing food I COULD have cheated on at this party I stayed strong and ate clean but I just couldn’t say no to those margaritas!
Right when I started at CrossFit in September of last year, Jeff gave me the token welcome call before my first work out to make sure I was prepared etc.
Word of warning, in the absence of all sugar and bread, it doesn’t take much to do the job! So fast forward to January and by then my curiosity was peeked, I went to the nutrition seminar, it was all making more sense…plus it was a CHALLENGE.
