My biggest challenge living paleo in 2013 will be maintaining this life style with the tremendous instability I am facing right now. My biggest challenge will be to not get overwhelmed by the science of the Paleo diet and not get obsessed with the scale.
My challenge is to be able to cook food for our whole family without cooking 3 different meals. I’m sort of looking forward to my biggest challenge–finding the time to cook paleo food for two! My biggest challenge with paleo this year is finding a balance and always being prepared between a strict whole30 regimen and the wild crazy non-paleo world out there.
My biggest challenge in eating paleo is overcoming my anxiety and negative thinking and believing that change is possible.
My biggest challenge for 2013 is the same as it’s been for 2012: Finding time and motivation to work out! Hmmmm… Biggest challenge in 2013 will probably continue to be finding room in the fridge for all of the meat and veggies we need to get through a week!!
Had not thought about this until you asked the question but my biggest challenge in 2013 will be a lifestyle change that will include non paleo spouse sharing cooking duties. I’m diving into the exercise component of paleo living this year, and keeping up food prep while making time for exercise will be a challenge.
It explains the science behind the paleo diet, proving that this is not a fad weight loss diet, but it is much more about improving our general health. Arsy enjoys spending time in her kitchen creating healthy, grain-free recipes for her family and her blog readers. I spent the summer sweating, typing, cursing, testing recipes, and fighting with the world’s most detailed and ornery Microsoft Word document template — and now Living Paleo For Dummies is on bookshelves.


Luckily, my writing partner also happens to be one of the kindest, most upbeat, generous women I’ve had the good fortune to meet. My assignments were the recipes (YAY!) and the practical matters like how to set up a paleo kitchen, how to eat in restaurants and go on vacation without crushing all your new habits, and what to expect if you do a 30-Day Re-Set. Kelly was on the hook to make the list of recommended exercises, and our editor asked us about demo photos for each move. But with the recipes for tasty and paleo-approved snacks, I’ll be able to choose the better option! I got my husband to eat Paleo for the first time during the fall so he actually insisted we start the year with the whole 30 because he felt so good. The hardest part will probably be planning ahead for those nights I’m too tired to cook and take-out would make life so much easier. Enjoy yourself, and maybe enter the giveaway so when January 1 rolls around, you’re ready for what 2013 can bring!
This book still managed to get me excited about the paleo lifestyle and it even encouraged me to clean up my act. Kellyann Petrucci, and like all the Dummies books, it breaks down the subject of paleo into bite-sized, easily digestible chunks of information, from the science of why paleo works to how to exercise for maximum effect, as well as how to manage in a non-paleo world and fine-tune the non-food related aspects of a paleo lifestyle. They offer readers several tips and exercises to help us think positively and stay committed, as some of us make some major changes to our ways of eating and living. I am not able to do my weekly cook up and am trying to find a structure of cooking that works for everyone, wherever I stay.
