Eleven years later and I am still, if not more passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and teaching others all that I can to live a long, healthy & happy one!
I found this essay from when I was in high school, at 17-18 years old I wrote this for my college applications (this is the still in editing process version though). These days so many young girls have eating disorders due to their fascination with society’s view as “the skinner you are the healthier you are.” However, that is definitely not true. I have always been an advocate for making regular physical activity and exercise a top priority through working towards bold and ambitious goals in all areas of life. About The SiteTrain with Amanda Mason’s goal is to provide a helping hand in discovering how to live life to the fullest potential by providing information to achieve ones’ own optimal health and wellness of the body, mind and soul. Thought it would be fun to share, especially to those young ones out there looking to make a change for the healthier but may find it challenging with the pressures of society and friends. It should not be a competition between you and another person it should be one with yourself, to be better than the person you were yesterday.
It helps me manage the stresses of school, friends and home and allows me to release tension and anger that I have when I get upset.
I have learned to set my own goals and have been able to work up to pushing past them in setting new and higher goals as well.

The feeling I obtained after I was finished working out each time made me extremely interested in fitness, and soon enough became eager to learn everything that there was on topic. Instead of taking my angers out on someone I just go to the gym and work out, it loosens me up and clears my mind. I look forward to making my tofu and egg whites with vegetables in the morning because it gives me energy for the rest of the day. It is my belief that exercise is a great opportunity to attain a mental and physical balance. There are times when people will ask me what I eat and when I tell them, I get the opposite response that I would return to someone, they all say, “Sick, that sounds disgusting.” Well,, it used to bother me, but it doesn’t anymore because I have learned that it doesn’t matter what other people say because they are not the ones doing it. I learn how I can excel in my performance in sports, in how I feel, and in the person I am. When all I want to do is get away, I know I can always go to it, because it can’t leave, it’s within me, it’s all up to me and how much I can push myself and how much I want to strive. You are the one who has to live with the consequences and in turn receive the benefits as well. Each personal session that I have with my trainer I look forward to so I can ask questions about different foods and muscles and exercises.

My friends used to question my healthy eating and exercising, and now, after seeing positive changes in me and my lifestyle, they have begun to understand my love for it.

When the last rep is done and I set the weights down,, I think, “This is exactly why I do this, I do it because of this feeling.” The feeling is of relief, of a new me.
