I’ve done a lot of reading on food, food in America, the American foodВ industries, the history of food in America, whole foods, healing foods, how terrible sugar is, and how important healthy habits are for kids. To make it even easier I’ve made an entire 2-week eating clean meal plan for you including all meals and snacks! For the last several months I’ve been sharing recipe ideas and creating a meal plan for the Milk and Honey Organics blog (The Beehive Buzz).
This Week’s Basket: Grape Tomatoes, Butternut Squash, Cucumbers, Kale, Microgreens, Lemons, Bartlett Pears, Red Potatoes, White Mushrooms, Baby Spinach, Valencia Oranges, Granny Smith Apples. The simplest way to eat butternut squash is to slice it in half, scoop out the seeds, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and your favorite herb (I like rosemary, sage or thyme), and roast cut side up at 450F for 45 minutes.
Sometimes I think you all might believe that I feed my kids sugar for all meals and for a bedtime snack, too. I feel like after years of reading and deciding what was right for us, I’ve found a very nice balance between healthy and real-life.


This will last about two weeks but I’ll need 3 or 4 more gallons of milk which I just pick up as the fridge empties.
Once it’s cooked, you can store it in the refrigerator for about a week and add it to various dishes or reheat as a side item. Be the person who calculates the price per unit for ounce or pound in order to get the best deals. Healthy, local, and sustainable food practices are good for you, your family, your community, and our world. I’m just trying to do the best I can, but I am not a great resource for those kind of diets. If you don't plan on eating them right away then choose fruits and vegetables that have time to ripen to ensure quality! I’mВ definitelyВ still learning the ins and outs of food photography, and dessert is a fairly forgiving subject. I’llВ thoroughlyВ enjoy my holiday andВ multipleВ pieces of pie, and then I plan on eating this again in December and the first weeks of January.


The last week (our first week” of eating clean has made my kids miserable and I have to have balance for them! Dinner on the other hand is a hard thing to get pictures of when I have three hungry kids and a husband waiting for me to set up shop, take some pictures, and then serve dinner. I do love sugar, so when I go off of it, even just for a few weeks I normally lose a pound or two (just in time to gain it back at the parties). I do however try to make sure what they get in my house is good for them (80% of the time). I look forward to reading indepth what you do because it looks like something I will be able to relate too.
