I'm currently (November 2014) studying with Precision Nutrition, The Essentials of Sport and Exercise Nutrition for a Health Coach Certification. It was quite frustrating being ill with such a myriad of symptoms and no one could quite figure out why. Making a lifestyle change like this was challenging and frustrating at first, but I started slowly changing my diet in 2008 and have been gluten free since and feel better than I have in years and actually look younger now and I turned 61 this year July 2014! Whether you're goal is to become gluten free for medical reason's or to live a more healthy lifestyle, lose weight, have more energy, endurance during exercise or everyday living, I hope this information is beneficial for you and your family and that you will continue to follow this journey with me.

I was constantly in the doctor’s office for thyroid issues, migraines, sinus issues, bladder infections, and depression as well as constant panic attacks. My body is all the evidence I need but having those test done probably saved my life and I’m very grateful to Dr. I listened to a blog talk radio show a few years ago with another holistic doctor who specializes in gluten sensitivities and Celiac disease (see link). The information provided on this site is for informational purposes only and is not intended as a substitute for advice from your physician or other health care professional or any information contained on or in any product label or packaging. My (almost) 3 year old daughted was diagnosed with Celiac disease a little over a year ago after failing to gain any weight in over a year amoung other developmental delays such as speech, hair growth, etc.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia two years ago and was very sick until I decided to go on a cleansing diet of No gluten, dairy, sugar, or processed foods.
Pizza, burgers, bread, rolls, biscuts and I had the dough girl stomach for years no matter how much I worked out! Ha!  We have women in their 80's who are still actively participating at my Curves here in Lakeway and I'm so encouraged by them!
Within a couple of days I felt better and found out that I was sensitive to gluten and proceessed foods. I wish I could afford to buy one of those books for every ignorant school health tech who ever said to kids, "Gee, you're always in here." And I want to give one to the nutritionist I was seeing for weight loss & the dr. My new found love of cooking and eating turned its focus toward nourishing and healing my body with each bite of food on my fork. Besides that I cut out all the junk food I was eating before, in particular eating fast food every week. You should consult with a healthcare professional before starting any diet, exercise or supplementation program, before taking any medication, or if you have or suspect you might have a health problem.
Since the entire company was born of Adina's background in holistic nutrition and wellness, that's what we still like to talk about. Since there weren't as many reliable resources available back in 2008, I decided to start this Gluten Free Lady blog to share my experiences, knowledge and cooking with others as they begin to travel the journey to optimal health. I am however, very passionate about gluten free living, cooking good wholesome food and feel that I'm very qualified in helping and supporting others on their health and wellness journey. Around 27 years old, I was really into fitness and my diet, but no matter how much I worked out (and looking back, I’d argue that it was way too much), I was gaining weight and puffiness.

Because of how I walked them through the process of rooting out gluten from their diet (along with other identified problematic foods such as soy or dairy) and finally got the whole gluten-free thing to stick without driving them nuts, these clients kept telling me that I should just focus on helping people struggling to go gluten-free.That was truly how Gluten Free School (aka. William Davis, author of Wheat Belly, not too long afterwards (his book was #5 at the time on the NY Times Best Seller list). Even gluten-free food companies were highly supportive of what I was doing when I explained the concept behind GFS.
I published my first book called The Savvy Gluten-Free Shopper: How to Eat Healthy Without Breaking the Bank to help my community save money eating a nutrient-dense gluten-free diet while cooking only twice each week.
I used to have these itchy, scaly rashes all over my legs and arms before I went gluten-free that have never returned. I’ve finally figured out how to put both into remission with help from my sister who is an herbalist solely with some additional diet tweaks and amazing herbs. Someone else could experience depression, constipation, low bone density, ADHD, autoimmunity, joint and muscle aches, gall bladder issues, anemia, dental problems and much more.
And the same goes for celiac disease which is an autoimmune disease triggered by the ingestion of even the smallest amount of gluten. My sister suggested massaging in sesame oil and, while I totally was convinced that I’d be zit-city the next day, I looked (and felt) so much better.
Basics) are organic, gluten-free and made with ingredients I can recognize and, aside from the occasional dietary indulgence (aka.
