In this new program, nutrition facilitators will work with classroom teachers to implement two new curricula for students K-5. In "Let's Cook", 4-5 students will learn how to cook while learning the broad nutrition concepts of fruits and vegetables. These lessons will be a supplement to help reiterate concepts students learn in the Michigan Model for Health.

Classroom teachers will receive correlation documents for each lesson that will include correlations for CCSS ELA and Math as well as Social Studies and Science GLCES. Teachers will also be given story books for their classroom libraries that are specific to each nutrition lesson taught as well as use of nutrition tubs which contain aids for students when learning about nutrition. Training will be offered to teachers who need to be refreshed in the Michigan Model for Health Curriculum, or to teachers new to Michigan Model.

Returning EPEC teachers will have the opportunity to attend the CHOICES conference to be held in the spring.
