This includes 2-4 servings of fruit, 6-11 servings of grains, 4 or more servings of vegetables, 4 servings of dairy ant 3 servings of protein each day. Those that are pregnant should also work to get high doses of vitamins and minerals, including the use of a prenatal vitamin if necessary. Pregnant women who do not get enough folic acid have a higher risk of having a baby that is underweight or born preterm. When pregnant the body requires more blood to accommodate your changing body, as well as the developing needs of the baby. In general, larger and older fish tend to have more mercury so the FDA often recommends that pregnant women avoid items like king mackerel, shark, swordfish and tilefish. To avoid these effects, cook all deli meats or hot dogs completely and use a meat thermometer to ensure that meat and poultry is cooked to temperature. Before consuming Mexican-style cheese, brie, feta, blue cheese or camembert make sure they are labeled as being pasteurized or produced with pasteurized milk. What risks there are fall into two categories: illness from bacteria or parasites in contaminated meat, and intestinal infection and injuries from bones. We offer carefully chosen, natural solutions, but we believe that veterinary conditions should be diagnosed and treated by professionals. Because most prepared raw diets for dogs and cats contain significant quantities of raw meat, it's important to handle them properly. Try farm fresh eggs or veggies from a local producer. Unfortunately the reality is that many of us don’t even cook for ourselves. What to do?

Usually about 4 cups. Bring to a simmer on low for about 4 hours (smaller pieces of meat will cook faster).
If however, you decide to feed cooked meats alone for more than 4-6 months or in young pups or kittens, please add a calcium source. Fresh is always best and the healthiest. For proper digestion however, the vegetables, beans, grains, etc.
See the resource guide for the one I use in my private practice. Also, if you are feeding the same home-prepared diet without variety for months (or years), please add a high quality dog or cat-specific multivitamin. Any foods that contain partially cooked eggs such as eggnog or hollandaise should be avoided. Because the vitality and healing ability of the individual is hugely improved by this diet.
